It sounds like a soft brick, can u get to fastboot? And if so, does adb see your xoom.

Edit: This is what I did to fix my xoom when I bricked it http://www.xoomforums.com/forum/motorola-xoom-hacking-guides/2788-how-return-stock-3g-4g-hr166.html yeah it sucks but its better then using your xoom for a paper weight. this will return you to stock 3.0.1 you will have to wait about ten min for the 3.1 update and then you can root again. hopes this helps.

[Q] Wifi 3.1 Xoom stuck in Boot Video

Hi, first of all thanks in advance to anyone who will try and solve my problem.
I unlocked my xoom using thi tread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=967065
and rooted it using this tread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1078019
after that I successfully opened and checked my phone. It was rooted with super user and everything.
I tried to enable the market for everthing so I used this tread for enabling market with replacing build.prop method.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1065698
As soon as I restarted the xoom couldnt get past the video introduction.
Now, I have tried getting into recovery and doing factory reset and everything but I cannot seem to get past the video..
I am genuinely scared if I bricked the tablet...
Any help will be very much appreciated.
Thank You in advance...

Hi Cozzeck,Can you possibly post a link for a guide to flashing back to stock? I don't want to mess it up further by doing something wrong.
And also, do you advice to try and root it again after fixing it?
Thank you, in advance...
I sent you a pm

Like you read up, you need to back to stock and do the procedure to root again.
Look for the stock image on the android development section, install it by clockwork recovery, and after get on stock do the procedure for root again.
If you have question u can PM me.
See ya!

Need help getting back STOCK boot animation after OTA too away my root...

I had rooted the atrix 2 on the old android. Worked flawlessly.
Now the phone has an update and I thought this was ICS - must be too good to be true. In the mean time my phone lost its root. Not a problem.
I just want to know how do I get my stock atrix boot animation back on the atrix 2 since I can not use rom toolbox?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Any help in the next 24hrs would be great. I want to return this phone to the store and go to verizon before my 30 days is up and I am locked in the contract. I want to get out and get in verizon's double data deal.

You would have to revert back to 2.3.5, by flashing the fkz. Then you would have to reapply root and push the stock bootanimation to /system/media/. This will not work in 2.3.6 because you cannot mount system as rw w/o root.
Read the nOOb section, flash your phone with the modified fxz.

Here's the noob thread. (not saying that to be demeaning- it's just what it's called ) Scroll down to "how to flash a fxz". Make sure you also follow the directions directly under it about flashing the fxz after you install the OTA update.
Thanks for all your help in pointing me in the right direction.

Sprint Nexus S 4G, Will I receive the OTA?

I'm unlocked and rooted, on the stock ROM 2.3.7 with Clockwork recovery as my default recovery. Will I have any issues?
Yes you will have an issue, your phone will shoot to the moon, crack it in half come back... Really though I think all it will do is break root and such as it is a fresh install and when had my phone rooted and such with cwm it wiped all custom off it

Yes, You might have a issue. Update will download, But NOT install. I would suggest that you revert to Stock Nexus S recovery.

LOL! mine went to mars.

Odd issue with cwm for JB.

Ok I hope you all can help sort something out for me. I just got a refurbished TF300T a couple days ago. I unlocked it in ICS and then it forced the OTA of 4.1.1 on me. I had no problem getting ADB drivers in and flashed the jelly bean recovery. I rebooted into recovery and there was cwm. I tried flashing the rootzip that is out there but it did not work. I then tried to do a bakup and it failed. I then realized i could not see emmc only sd.
Any ideas.
I have a rooted modded nooktab so i am somewhat familar with these devices but i am stumped.
Thanks for the help

I'd try manually flashing the firmware and then flashing CWM again, or TWRP which some users will argue is much better than CWM.

Thanks for the tips. Yea in a tough spot. Not sure what to do. I will, search around. You think flashing the firmware will work. Should i flash stock recovery too.
Odd issue. Wonder why they did this?

Just read the post again if you are still on 4.1.1 the disreguard what i had mention theres probably away to fix which im sure some one can help but what i had talked about was the 4.2.1 jb update attempting to root on that is a no go. So just ignore that post. I'm on stock 4.2.1 but unlocked bootloader so can't help there cant go any further myself at the moment.
In my setup menu theres an option to add seperate users some seem to think that it encrypts the information so another person who has access under another user name cant see another person info. Sound logical to me but really messed things up for us.
Now still thats all just speculation no one knows for sure what the exact issue is with the 4.2.1 update is yet but best advice is to wait till it's figured out.

Reflashing stock img will flash back stock recovery, so I'd just do what I said, you should be good.
