When my Sensation is on and i press the power button and then press restart.. The phone actually switches off.. I need to press the power button for it to start up again.. Why is this happening.. Any idea???
P.S: Its an unrooted device with stock ROM

need help guys i think i have messed up my lovely sensation xe, i tried to flash the new xe rom, i have superwiped it then installed the rom, but when it reboots it keeps looping on the white htc screen
Have you tried to factory reset it?
Try this, don't think it can harm your phone but try it at your own risk.
Remove the battery, wait for a few seconds, then reinsert the
Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then briefly press the POWER button.
Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the VOLUME DOWN button.
Press VOLUME DOWN to select FACTORY RESET, and then press the POWER button.

I had a bug so I shuts down the phone and when I restarted the phone starts to vibrate none stop with a black screen.
so I can not enter into recovery mode or in download mode. if anyone can help me I would appreciate it.

Are you sure you cannot enter the download mode?
Press the Volume down key, the Home key and the Power key simultaneously.
If you get the download mode, start the process again all over.
KPE>KPQ/DDKKP3>CF-Root>MIUI
v10.3 is out and it's better. Try that.

Hold powered key+home key+volume down key. Hold it down.

power key is not working.initialy cel was working fine arund 4 mnths backs.thn i flashed kyrilos cm7.thn capactive touch keys stoped working.cel use get hang and screaan use to get dead.thn i went back to froyo used it a bit thn came back to 2.3.7 cm7.i faced same prob again but this time power key was not working properly.i had to press it realy long or many times to power it on.last i flashed hercolumbous.thn my cel got switched off it thn it didnt switch on.it was dead for couple of weeks.thn i tried holding power key down+home key+thn plug in the charger.thn it went in download mode.thn i flashed stock rom.initally thn capacitive touch and scren was not responding but later on it statred working.thn i flashed purumodrom and running currently.stil i power key is not working.plzzzz...someone find a solution
could you please clarify how could you switch on the phone if the button was not working

First pres home key and volume down key simultaneously.while u r presing both the key plugin ur cell phone charger .and see to it charger buton is on ie it will work as power key and cel wil go in download mode.
This is how i switch on the cell.

It has to be a hardware related issue.

Hello everyone and i'm happy to find this forum cause maybe you ll help me out.
Here is the problem the power button of the htc one mini doesn't work i tried to install the teaMseven_kernel_SENSE to alternate the power button unfortunetly the rom stuck on my boot logo. i heared that the phone can be plug in by my usb but i don't see the phone on my computer. Is there a way to reboot the device in the recovery i have a backup there. ? thank you
Hold vol down and power. Once it shuts off release power. Keep holding vol down and press power for 2 sec til boot loader pops up.

Ok the power button now works, i remove the sim card and push the power button several times and it works again :laugh:
Hi guys. I faced with interesting issue =)
So my device is M8 and it is rooted. From TWRP i did advanced wipe and probably i deleted file for power button.
Now when i press it, nothing happens but when i press and hold power + volume up and down it restart device or turn on device if it was off.
What should i do? Does RUU help in such cases? or Kernel code? if yes please explain how can i do it.?
