I would love to have an overclocking module for this phone. I know with S=Off now available (and the official unlock coming) custom kernels will be the way to go, but since my phone is a loaner, I can't do any of that. But an OC module similar to the Milestone Overclock that speeds my wife's Defy up would be perfect.
just do a search in the development forum mate- there is permatemp root plus OC modules available.

check out the Vibrant forum, there are many guides and helpfull things you will find
Hi....I have the Macnut R14 installed on my vibrant, I'm looking for the 1.2ghz overclock, but I couldn't find it. I am looking for it since the last 5-10 days. Can anyone paste a link to 1.2 overclock or possibly to all of them. I will be grateful
I found a link explaining how to overclock motorola milestone phone on the fly without any reeboot or flashing a custom overclocked kernel. This information might be useful for overclocking galaxy 3 mobiles and I think this would be a better way of overcloking, since it doesnot require flashing a separate overcloked kernel.

Since our phone is using s5p6442 cpu, there are some slight changes that has to be done. I tried and compared the guide with our froyo kernel source released by samsung.
I found the frequency table for our cpu to be present in
arch/arm/plat-s5p64xx/s5p6442-dvfs.c
But i couldnt find which function manipulates the frequency tables present here,I'm not a developer so I'm posting what i know here, Hoping some developer takes this information and implementes it.
downloading the source codes now....wonder if i can figure out anything~im just a noob
Hello. Just bought an a100.
Rooted it, Super user and TI installed.
Im currently happy with the stock ICS, ATM Im not looking to install a custom rom.
I do however want to overclock my tablet. I'm a bit disappointed in its performance in benches/games, And I see that most users can hit a 500mhz overclock.
Can I install the kernel from androids stock recovery mode?
Thanks.
Currently, there are no a100 kernels capable of overclocking, due to the fact that Acer has yet to release any source code for devs to work with. There are a few kernels that claim to perform smoother however. That might be worth looking into.

I have the above recovery installed, and previously had the kernel installed as well until I put on cyanogen mod 7.20130201 for the LG E720. CM7 is great; this is my first foray into modding my phone and it's grand. However, the CPU clock is maxed out at the stock frequency of 600 Mhz. I don't want to undo all my progress, so I have to ask, will the kernel above work with CM7?
Thank you.
Hello everyone, this is my first topic on XDA after lurking for a while!
Anyways, today my topic is going to be concerning an Android Mini Tablet called the PlayMG. It's a WiFi tablet by a startup that's now gone bankrupt. The actual name of the device (development-wise) was the ACTScom A930. It was supposed to be a small 4 inch tablet like an iPod Touch with Android. You can find various info by googleing the name.
The specs go as stated:
ARM TCC8920 @ 960 MHz
1 GB RAM
4 GB DDR3 Storage
Android 4.0.4 ICS
Geekbench test:
http : //browser.primatelabs . com/geekbench3/356000
(sorry, I'm new so I can't post links until 10 posts)
The device was pretty cheap (around 90 dollars) and since then I've rooted it. I had to use SafeRoot because there is virtually no support anywhere for this device. As you can tell from the specs above, the device is fairly weak. My goal is to overclock the device to run at around 1.10-1.25 Ghz, however I'm stuck on the stock ROM and kernel. And as you can probably guess, there is no one to develop and overclockable Kernel for it. I have a few questions that I would like answered:
I was wondering are there any methods to overclock the stock kernel? Is that pretty much impossible?
Are there any ICS (or any) kernels that might work on this device?
Could I build the Kernel myself?
^Questions regarding this:
-Since the company went bankrupt, I can't really obtain a stock kernel, Could I somehow extract it from the device itself?
-If I were able to get the kernel, where can I go on XDA to guide me to building an overclockable kernel?
Does anyone have any ideas on how to overclock this device? I'm accepting all ideas, good or bad!
Thank you everyone in advance. All responses/knowledge is welcome!
Im also looking forward to this... Have a samsung galaxy star pro... Have compiled stock kernel from source successfully... It works... Nw i need to add oc nd everythung... How shuld i do it??? It is a spreadtrum device...
Anyone?
