so it just boots up normally like it would when you only pressed the power button?

Tried using the Vol Buttons + Power, but it keeps flashing up the At&T logo. I'm not at my personal computer, so cannot use adb.
Any suggestions or other tips to get into recovery mode?
when the att logo pops up hold for like 3 seconds then let go of the power button but keep holding onto the volume buttons

booting into recovery

Why is there not an easier way? If you're stuck in a boot loop you would basically be screwed..
Other phones I've owned there was always a way, like hold volume up and power button. Am I just being a noob or is the only way through ROM manager?
Ummm..hold volume up+down while powering on. Release power button when the phone vibrates (continue holding volume up+down)
Where in the world did you get the impression rom manager was the only way
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA App
Hold volume up and volume down thn. press power and let go of power while still holding the volume keys. There is an easy way thats it. What made u think there was not?
It doesn't seem to work for me.. It takes me to Odin target mode..
I'm using a Canadian Rogers version btw
I installed cwm a second time through room manager and it seemed to work now.
Thanks guys.

What if it bootloops?

Alright, I currently have a HTC Aria running CM9, I was going to purchase an HTC One X from AT&T. However, I have one question. If I root it, and the device begins to bootloop or hangs for any reason, how will I stop it? I wouldn't be able to remove the battery....
reboot to recovery by manual, n do reset.. hehe

How would you go about that? Just power button and down volume button? Sorry, on my current phone the volume is broke, so I have to do it through CWM

also you can push power button for 10 seconds or more, with a bit of luck phone will turn off.
But after that you still need volume button ...
I understand now, I didn't realize that there was a kill switch and that after holding the power button down for 10 seconds, the device turns off.

SGS 3 Eclipse Rom stuck on nexus logo

My phone started acting funny last night so I turned it off. Now when I try to reboot I'm stuck on the nexus logo. I am currently using the Eclipse Rom.
I can't enter download or recovery mode using vol. down, home, and power or vol. up, home, and power.
Any suggestions?

try home, vol up, then power.
once the phone vibrates release the power button but keep holding home and vol up and it should get you into recovery.
hope that helps. i ran into that problem the other day on a different rom and thought i would just let go of them all once i vibrated and it never worked.

Your post doesn't indicate that you held all three buttons down. This can be initiated at any time while powered up. Hold down vol up AND vol down AND power, keep holding until you see the Galaxy S 4G logo screen. Let go as soon as you see that screen. This should take you into recovery (TWRP in my case).
