I have been searching and cant find this. Maybe im bad at looking but can someone post the stock 2.3.1 kernel. I need to go back to stock ASAP, my phone is getting way too hot for my taste. Thanks for your help
Best I can suggest is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884093
It's a 100% stock Nandroid backup for 2.3.1. Hope this helps.
I've tried searching for this throughout the forums and I guess it's to vague to find an exact answer. So here's my problem:
A while back I had backed my original JI6 ROM for my Samsung Vibrant. I've been playing with a good set of ROMs from Team Whiskey since then. Each one I've been able to restore to a backup made of the previous ROM. However, the backup I had made for my Original Stock ROM will never restore. It just stalls during the restore. I've let it sit for about eight hours overnight a few times, but no real progress there. I'm not sure what I can do really to get that backup restored to my phone.
I have two backups, one when I first installed ROM Manager to my phone and another I made when I wanted to try out a new ROM. Each do not work. I'm either assuming some where the same file was not backed up correctly or the backup is to big? It is about 1.5GB.
Please any help in this matter would help greatly as Samsung is finally ready to release a 2.2 Update and I'd like to try this from my original-ish stock ROM.
Thank you!
nothing? no ideas?

Hi
I'm completely clueless as to what to do next here. I've rooted my Xoom which worked and was fully functional, etc.
Now I wanted to try the Tiamat ROM. I installed Clockword Mod Recovery from the ROM Manager yesterday. It reads version 4.0.0.4. Now I downloaded the ROM and tried to install via clock word but nothing happens. What's worse now is that my Wifi says "error" and can't be turned on.
At this point if someone can point me in the right direction to getting the ROM installed, I would greatly appreciate it. If not, I'll also go for stock 3.1 rooted if that's possible at this point.
Please help me out
Thanks
This exact same thing happened to me. Made me really nervous and I wound up rolling back to stock and rerooting - all unnecessarily. All you need to do is put the Tiamat recovery back on, wipe your data (yes, everything on your internal storage, so make a backup), and install Tiamat 1.1 from an SD card. I detailed my experience with instructions for another person on how to fix it in this thread:

Any questions just ask.

I've been trying to warn people about that incompatible recovery from Rom Manager for several weeks. I wish we could have a sticky post about it. So many people fall into that trap and get all messed up. I know cause it happened to me.
well right now I'm currently flashing the cm7 rom. I can't send/receive any mms right now. I've tried searching and I've tried a lot of things, but nothing seems to be working. I also miss my stock froyo as well. So I was wondering if I can revert back to the original stock froyo, but still be root.
I used rom manager and I backuped the orginal rom before I flashed the cm7 and the addons, but I don't know where it use or even how to go about it . Can I use that to revert back to the orginial rom and will I still be rooted?
I'm currently on the mytouch4g and if you know where I can download the rom for froyo please post a link.
thank you very much.

Hi, the answer to your question is actually in your post...if you backed up your froyo rom with the rom manager, then you just have to restore the backup.
To do that, go to the Rom manager, manage and restore, and then find your backed up rom. It should take a while and you will be back to the state you were before flashing CM7. Just in case make a nandroid backup of your current rom in case things don't go as expected. It should be working neatly. Hope it helps. Let me know if you could restore it. See ya....

Hey i also have a Mytouch 4G and i have looked around before but couldn't seem to find a Stock froyo rom that is rooted. I would recommend you use a different ROM other then CM7. There are plenty of roms in the mytouch 4g section. we also have a great dev TheDerekJay does an amazing job with keeping all his roms updated. im using his MIUI rom on my mytouch and im in love with it.
actually I just looked at my rom manager backup file. and it says the date for today... I used mybackup root to just back up my data because I was planning on changing my rom. So I'm seriously am confused now... I back uped the rom (froyo) just yesterday so shouldn't it say that 1/1/2012 instead of 1/2/2012? Should I just flash this backup anyway and hope for the best?

I should have the date and time when you did the backup...but if It was after midnight or your time zone is not correct that might affect the name. If it is the only backup you did then it must be it. Let me know after you flashed it how things resulted.
thanks glevitan. You were right the time zone is probably not set correctly. I restored the file and I'm back to the original stock froyo and I'm still rooted I'm very happy now. thank you so much.

You're welcome...enjoy your new/old rom. See ya!
Hi I was running venom ROM with no problems and I just switched to sinless last night and today I tried to use GPS and it won't lock on.....I fully wiped before I flashed
If sinless is an aosp ROM that is an issue currently with aosp. From what I've read you can flash a sense ROM, get a GPS lock, and then flash back to sinless. Right now I don't believe there is an actual fix for it.
Edit: I saw its gpe, my bad. From searching in the sinless thread I see there was talks about a gps fix listed in the thread. Idk of its a flashable zip or what, but might be worth checking out.
Thanks and ya I tried that first and it didn't work.....I read that you could flash back to sense too but I was hoping to find a zip that works to flash to save me some trouple
Anyone else have a faster way before I flash like adavit said....and if I do go that route can I just dirty flash each
Don't you have a nandroid of a sense rom? Then you just restore that, get a lock, and then restore back to your gpe rom you're on now.
Thanks I just did that and it worked......the phone was running so smooth didn't want take the chance of messing anything up

In the future, you would probably want to ask a question like this in the thread for whatever ROM you're running. That way anyone else who experienced the same issue can chime in, hopefully with a quick fix. And if it's a new problem, then the dev would become aware of it.
I realize that but I needed to post here BC I can't post until I've sent 10....(just signed up)
