[Q] is this normal, flash videos not fully loading - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all....i recently got my TF and have noticed that when i go to sites that have a flash video (like my anime site), the video will not fully load. If i push play on the video, it will start streaming the video but if I pause it and let it continue to buffer the rest of the content, and move to a new tab or application, the buffering stop. If i would to stay on the page and let the video stream and buffer to the end, then I can watch the whole video. I have noticed this in stock browser and Dolphin.
Is this normal? I was expceting something similar ot my computer where i can start a video, switch screens, and when I come back , the video is finishing buffering and I can view all of the movie.....any ideas? Thanks

I think it part of Android to safe resources (cpu power is limited).

Streaming audio and browsing at same time

So my last cell phone was the HTC shadow from Tmobile. It was windows based and could do everything this phone can albeit with older hardware tech, yet I could play a youtube video or some streaming audio from a website then go back to the browser and start surfing the web and reading other sites, while the audio played in the background.
The G2x is my first android device and not only does the battery life suck, but now I find that I can't even multitask! I've searched if the G2x or any android device could stream music/audio and browse at the same time and found no adequate answer. The only one that gave me hope was to hold down the home key and you'd get the last 6 apps you've used, but this still it does not work, and the music/audio cuts off the moment I want to browse in another window.
Is there anyway to listen to an audio on one window, open another and surf the net, while the audio is still playing in the other window?
I don't know exactly which applications you're using, but this works fine for me with Pandora -- keeps right on playing while I browse.
I think he is trying to browse and use sound from a youtube video at the same time. I have never needed to do this. If you get an app like Pandora and Grooveshark you can stream music and do whatever you want at the same time.
Sounds like he is trying to stream audio from a website via the web browser. the web browser needs to be on screen with the screen on and unlocked for sound to stream.
however if you use an app like pandora or soundcloud you can let it run in the background
Yeah, I tried playing a Flash-based stream in the browser; the OP is right, as soon as I switched to a different window within the browser or switched to a different app, Flash stopped streaming. Same thing with YouTube. I don't know why. The hardware and OS are certainly capable of it, as shown by Pandora, etc.
Try SkyFire.
Back to the days I was using Nexus One 2.2. I was only able to play BBC iplayer with Flash background was SkyFire. When you get video prompt when you're about to play flash-based player, let SkyFire runs on its own way. In which you can play it in the background.

I've. Tried it on dolphin, skyfire, stock and other free browers and each time I play a video on YouTube or an audio mp3 stream from a particular site then try and open another window to browse the audio cuts of. Only when I make that window active will the audio video begin to stream again. This feature should be standard, since all windows mobile smart phones can do this, no problem.

[Q] Is there any way to make flash videos open in a media player?

Right now, if I go to a site that plays videos in flash, like Break.com for example, it will play the video on the website as if it was a desktop. and there is almost no way for me to control it because the buttons are too small (pause/play, skip, etc). In iPhone that would pop out and be played with quicktime player or whatever that native thing is. anyway to do this on this phone?
I don't believe you can do this with embedded flash videos. And just for comparisons, neither could the iPhone (with flash videos, that is).
Yeah, iPhone couldn't play flash videos at all. Only I think HTML 5 videos.
I did figure something out last night though. In dolphin browser I set user agent to iPhone. I was able to get videos that iPhone would "pop out" to also "pop out" and play with MX Player. So that was pretty cool
I also found that if I hit the fullscreen button while watching actual flash videos, it seems Dolphin has a sort of built in tool for that and it actually shows full sized buttons for pause and stuff. Though it would be cool if any/all videos popped out to play on MX Player.
might as well change the thread title to "How can I watch porn vids"
^ lol. Upnplay + Dice Player works great. Another of my favorite players is Stick It. Allows a floating player window that you can move/resize.

[Q] Problem with 1.7.40 freezing under specific circumstances.

My device = Kindle fire HD (1st generation), 7", 16 GB
My OS = Amazon's version of android 4.0.3
Mx player = 1.7.40
I downloaded & installed Mx player (non-neon/froyo version) & the codec that it won't even START without, from the below link
h ttps://sites.go ogle.com/site/mxvpen/download
(The site considers me too "untrustworthy" to post the link, but you can figure out where I downloaded it from anyway.)
I had it's settings set to use HW+ decoding & to use HW decoding if HW+ failed. I used it to play a .mp4 video (480x360, 30fps, approximately 90 minutes long) that I had downloaded from youtube using tubemate. I stopped playing the video after the first 5 minutes to check on something online. After that, I started Mx player again & chose the same video again. Mx player asked if I wanted to start over or to resume. However, I couldn't do ANYTHING! Clicking on either choice didn't work. NOTHING worked at all. I couldn't even get to the kf-hd's list of running apps so that I could close Mx player from there. Even pressing the kf-hd's power button didn't show the kf-hd's "shutdown" option. Luckily, holding it for 10 seconds turned the kf-hd off anyway. After that, I tried several attempts to get Mx player to play that video again. My last attempt went as follows.
1) I turned the kf-hd on.
2) I started Mx player, but I did NOT choose any videos.
3) Instead, I went to the kf-hd's list of running apps & closed Mx player from there.
4) I turned the kf-hd off & then turned it back on again.
5) I started Mx player again, chose the video that I hadn't finished watching, & tried to watch it again, with the EXACT same results as before.
(After that, I uninstalled Mx player, installed Km player, & have since watched the same video without the above problem.)
Anyway, in future versions, to (hopefully) avoid this happening again, I recommend that you should include the option to NOT keep track of whether a video is "unfinished" or not, & to have the decision to "start over" or to "resume" be set by an option in the settings instead. That will (hopefully) avoid the message from having to pop up at all for "unfinished" videos. Also, put in the option somewhere to FORCE Mx player to FORGET if any video is "unfinished" or not, because that's really what causes that message to begin with, & besides, that "feature" is less a convenience than it is a trouble-making annoyance (at best), & it's really none of Mx player's business whether I have "finished" watching a video or not.
Collecting error logs would help, each time you get app freezing.

How to stop stock video player resuming from where you left off

Hi,
S7 on Android 7.
How do I stop the video player automatically resuming from when it was last played?
i really want to just stick with this player as opposed to another app if poss. I see only a setting for autoplay
I want my video clips to play from the beginning every time I start the clip.
any ideas guys ?
thx for help
It should ask you when you try to play an already partially watched video, maybe you hit the check box to never ask again
Clear the video players data from settings > apps > video player
i tried this but it's the same result, nothing asked to me
any other idea please ?
up please the only thing it's showing me when i clear video player datas is the "how to use gesture tutorial"
if i first use a video already started just after clearing data, it will start from where i have left it then i think this part of "memory" is not stocked in the app datas
i contacted the support team of the app and they told me that actually there is no switch to turn this option off, it's by default that the player resume videos, they will consider the need

Mp4s not working in Android

So I recently rooted my bv5900, and when I tried playing a video on the YouTube app, my phone would reboot itself. When I try playing any type of video on chrome it would just show a green screen but with audio from the video. I noticed if I was trying to look at a gif, it would kinda work if I scrolled away from it then went back, but it would go back to a green screen. My phone also reboots when I try opening Mini Metro and Geometry Dash. I used Magisk to root my phone btw. Anyone know how I can fix this?
Use VLC for Android to play MP4 files

Still reboots my phone. It doesn't matter which app I'm using, videos just won't work.
