[Q] Cleaning up the bloatware - Kidzone? - T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide

I tried searching the forums and found nothing...
Like a lot of others, i dont like most of the applications that come bundled on my phone and like to get rid of most of them. I cant seem to figure out what .apk file to remove to get rid of the "Kidzone" application. Any ideas?

If any root-level file explorer works, download Absolute System from the Market. It's about two bucks but it's worth it. You can use it to remove any bloatware from your device.

Not in this case. We do not have S-OFF.

Freezing the apps with titanium backup lasts between reboots, luckily. Won't remove them completely but they will be prevented from running or showing in the app drawer.
Only problem is I'm having trouble finding the package names of a couple bloatware apps, namely kidzone, highlight, friend stream and t-mobile mall. If anyone could find the names of those packages it would be great. I'll look up the names of the apps I did find in a little while and post them for you.

I cant figure out what process is Kidzone either, but i think the T-Mobile mall was called "AppPack" (MallLite-4.0.92.apk)

also tried removing the app pack, and it does not remove "kidzone"

Kidzone appears to basically be a locked down version of the home screen that only lets you turn on Youtube, Internet, Bejeweled, and T-Mobile TV from that screen. It requires you to setup a password for the lock screen. It appears to be built into sense. It's not really an application. Mostly a replacement lock screen. There's nothing "kid" about it honestly.

I second that request!

I made a thread in "themes and apps" about cleaning up bloat - still no luck on kidzone though.
I am fiddling around with dumping sense now, that will probably do it. I'll post back here if I can figure out how to make kidzone go away.
Meantime - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16739548#post16739548

okay - sorry to post after myself but I got rid of kidzone.
First, I restored a CWM backup I made right after root/busybox installation.
So, my phone state is fresh S-OFF/Root with SU & busybox installed.
It may be important to note that I did a factory reset to my phone just before S-OFF/Root & had a freshly formatted MicroSD card.
I then installed ADW Launcher from the Market, and hit my "home" key. Selected "Use Default" and chose ADW Launcher.
Now my phone defaults to ADW as it's launcher.
I then installed "Absolute System" from the Market, and used it to remove "HTC Sense"
Closed out Absolute System, then scrolled between all 5 ADW desktop screens, powered down the phone, then powered up again. (*NOTE fastboot = off)
Booted fine, was able to ditch sense without issue, and KIDZONE IS GONE!
As always, make sure to do a fresh system backup before messing with anything like this, but Kidzone is linked to sense, and replacing sense with another launcher will remove it.
HTC Sense was the only app removed from the phone, and I haven't checked everything to make sure it works yet, but no HTC crash report to send, and no force close issues. (yet - to be determined)
I've been itching to ditch sense since I got the phone, and this was my first quick test at it. Works good so far.
Edit to add:
Checked the "personalize" option at the top of the "settings" list. This just brings you back to the main desktop, doesn't throw an error.
I knew this one thing would be messed up somehow after ditching sense, but the fact that it doesn't make a problem and just closes the menu is fine by me.
I'll spend the rest of the day testing out my phone without sense to see how it runs. I'll post back how it went tomorrow.
Edit - 11/01/2011:
When I said "without sense" I meant without the sense launcher. I expanded on and clarified that in another thread (that app thread) but never cleared it up here.
To fully remove sense is one heck of a project, and will take much more then just switching your launcher.

This is great info - but with this last method - can you still use the stock/factory camera app? Is the camera fully functional, it might not be a big deal to some but would be cool to retain full factory camera functionality.

Wow, feels like going back in time -
Yep, stock camera app works fine.
It's tied to sense, and there is no true AOSP ROM out there yet, so pretty much no matter what you do you should keep stock camera functionality.
Actually, keeping the stock camera functionality/app is the main reason why there is no AOSP ROM yet, it's been generally decided that losing that would be...undesirable.
Kidzone is part of Rosie.apk, which is the Sense launcher. You lose it once you switch to another launcher (adw, go, etc...) and uninstall rosie.apk

How switch: Launcher Pro/TouchWiz?

I installed Launcher Pro. I read that you can switch between launchers with a selection. I thought you could do it by press on screen, like when adding a widget, and it would be there. But it isn't.
I have searched through the settings, and can't seem to find it.
Any thoughts?

download home switcher from the market or go here
settings/applications/manage applications/select your home screen program
I dont have an android phone yet so someone correct me if i'm wrong ^^
You can download HomeSwitcher from the Market
Without a switcher, you can go into Settings/Applications/Manage Applications/LauncherPro/Reset Defaults. Then next time you hit the Home button, it'll ask you again which one you want and if you want to set one as default again.

Cool, Thanks.
Uh, now how do you use it? So then I guess I just need to have an icon for it on the desktop.
I did think I saw somethign that brought up a list just by pressing on the screen. Maybe a different app, or settings. I'll continue to investigate that...but thanks again. I can do what I need!
What a great site this is. I hope to return the favor of helpful answers as time goes on.
I installed launcher pro but the contact button says the application is not installed (little head icon on launcher pro)...
What contact application do I need to isntall for that functionality?

Long press on the icon and you can change the shortcut options (which app to use, which icon to use, etc)
Whats the app need to be for the phone...
If I select "Phone" application... it doesnt' quite operate like the stock launcher...
When on a phone, the stock launcher when you click on the phone icon, goes to the dialer/call information... when you launch the phone application, it goes to the keypad but not the current call window...
you can get to the current call window by going to the status screen adn clicking on the little green phone during an active call though...
any ideas?

Samsung, this is pathetic!
Wasted 2 hours of my life dealing with your stupidity.
heres the solution (problem was launcher pro):
1. grab the homeswitcher from market
2. set touchwiz crap as default.
3. reboot phone.
from then on, kies acts normally, phone gets detected normally etc etc etc.
thanks for wasting my time samsung.
edit: even after this i had probs, seems i need to reboot phone everytime i need to connect it. on first connect after fresh reboot it seems to work. goodluck. (very very very poor software as expected from samsung)
edit2: this is a bug fest! who coded this samsung? some student? jesus this soft is so bad it kills all the experience. what a piece of junk. barely works. flaky. buggy. samsung, fire your software team asap. they suck. only a true amateur can output this kind of garbage. this is below badly coded visualbasic garbage.

What's the action to execute TWlauncher ? (I mean the TouchWiz app-drawer)
I would mixup LauncherPro homes with TW horizontally scrolling apps
I wonder if there's a way to strip out the touchjizz widgets and use them in launcher pro or something, or make them available for any launcher replacement. I actually like the calendar clock widget.
I'll try picking touchjizz apart tomorrow at work if I get some extra time.

Best photo gallery app? Or: how to revert to Sense gallery?

I'm using Fresh 1.0.1. I downloaded the Vanilla apps, and apparently there is no way to un-install them. I'm happy with vanilla lock screen and vanilla clock. But I do not like the new gallery. I wish I could go back to sense.
So my next best option is to just get a new photo gallery app from the market. But I can't really seem to find one.
Any suggestion?

I'm using Fresh as well. For me, I just freeze Launcher Pro using Titanium. (You must have full version) When it completes the "freeze" and you hit the home screen it should ask you what you want to use, ie. Sense, Launcher Pro, Android Mate. Select Sense with the "remember" option and you should be set. You can change back by un-freezing.
A word of warning- if you upgrade Launcher Pro or Flipz drops in a new version and you un-freeze a older version you may go into a FC loop.
EDIT: I posted in the wrong thread! sorry.
But since I did, i might as well be somewhat useful. I was linked here by this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=729888
its a thread to find replacement apps for cyanogen vs sense. I very much dislike the "3d gallery" provided by cyanogen. I like a simple file viewer. problem is, if I use something else to browse my files, and click "set as wallpaper" it seems to be conflicted with the 3d gallery program. I then went in to system/apps and removed 3d gallery, but now i cannot set ANY wallpapers. any ideas?
EDIT: Ok.. I think i'm just on crack... everything is working as I want it to now... who knows. I usually screw up more than I care to admit

[Q]Launchers?

I was messing around with my phone and i found Go Launcher. I when messing around with that i like it so much and i want to know is it possible to replace htc sense with Go Launcher? To add more detail to my question is removing it off my phone through a root explore and replacing it with Go Launcher? Will that work? and how?
Yep.
Download whatever launcher you want to use ( I used ADW, you can use Go, or anything else that works).
Ensure that it works by playing with it for a little bit.
Once you are sure it's working correctly, hit your home button and select your new launcher as the default. (don't skip this step)
After you have your new launcher as the default, using Root Explorer (or File Expert, both of those i've tested - others may work) navigate to and delete:
/system/app/rosie.apk
/system/app/rosie.odex
/data/data/com.htc.launcher
Exit your file manager and reboot your system.
Done.
That's the quick and dirty method.
I'd recommend using something like "Absolute System" to first delete the data, then uninstall HTC Sense (make sure the file paths correspond to what I wrote above) and then going back to manually delete /system/app/rosie.odex
Absolute System won't get .odex files, so uninstalling system apps this way means you have to go back and clean it up yourself for the .odex files.
Also, you lose the HTC myTouch Power Control and a handful of other widgets in this process.
I am experimenting now with deleting/uninstalling other system packages (like fusion, open sense plugin manager and so forth) to see where it causes problems, but that's still preliminary at the moment.
I made a thread about this Here which i'll be updating in another few days once I get my new battery settled in and can continue.
Meantime, just uninstalling the HTC Sense launcher and replacing it with another one works well, and still allows full functionality of the stock camera app, as long as the rosie.apk -.odex and corresponding /data/data file is all you remove.

Nice thanks i'm trying adw.launcher the app-drawer seems slow?
Yea, switch it to vertical view in settings.
(on desktop, hit menu, then more, then ADW settings, you'll find it in there)
It helps - i'm trying to see if there's a conflict with ADW fighting against anything HTC has running on the device, i'm using ADW since i'm pretty familiar with it at this point from my Nook Color, it's the 'stock' launcer for CM7 there.
I noticed that after loading the app drawer the first time, it hasn't been an issue.
I'd love to hear more about your experiences with this, it's a learning experience for us all at this point.
Ok i was think renaming go launcher as rosie.apk so it can boot up on its on. Unless there is some xml or cfg file some where i can edit and rename it.
Update:
I completely replaced htc sense with go launcher everything seems to work perfectly fine. i like this launcher way better less ram and fast too.
Update 2:
I renamed it to rosie.apk after that I pressed the home button. It opened up go launcher and the camera is still working correctly.
Update 3:
Personalize doesn't work if you remove htc sense.
Question: does having another launcher without uninstalling sense significantly impact performance? I'd rather not have to root and delete sense at the moment.
On another note, is anyone slightly fed up by how lackluster the optimization of Sense was for this phone? Since I'm coming from the original MyTouch, I was used to non-smooth performance, but today I installed 7 launcher and I was amazed by how comparitively smooth it ran, despite "just" being a market app. I just installed golauncher after seeing this thread and am just as amazed. So smooth!

Before I removed sense. All you had to do really was set a default launcher then killing sense with a tasks/processes manager. But i went ahead and removed it because i really want one launcher and i don't want the phone booting up to sense then others.
As well as it works, bear in mind this is just a slap-it-together fix.
None of the underlying frameworks that actually power the launcher are gone with the removal of rosie.apk, simply the launcher itself. (well, on the surface at least)
Yes, there is a slight performance gain, but nothing like what it would be if you actually went in and pulled everything behind the launcher that powers it.
Doing that, of course, would compromise the camera.apk, and most likely the whole rest of the phone in the process. It's likely that a new/different phone.apk would be needed, as well as most of the apps on the device.
(I don't know for sure yet whether phone.apk is tied to the sense frameworks, but I have barely begun looking into the .apk's we get with the phone, so don't take that out of context.)
Replacing the launcher, no problem. Ripping out Sense itself...we're quite a bit away from that at the moment. You can pull the launcher on the surface and still have a stable, running system.
I'd venture to guess, though I haven't checked for sure, any performance gains from removing the sense launcher are nullified by whatever launcher you replace it with.
That doesn't mean you shouldn't experiment, and I personally don't like the Sense launcher too much. I like some stuff about it, but what I don't like about it makes it worth it to me to trade it out for something else now.
At the moment i'm running the stock launcher again while I build my battery stats file up again, but as soon as that's done i'm back to ADW and ripping out the guts of this stock rom to figure out what needs what.
Now, the cool thing about removing the Sense launcher is there are a slew of widgets that won't run without it, so you can dump them as well since they don't do anything anymore.
Combining dropping the Sense launcher with all the widgets it doesn't need anymore, and the lists we are making in a few places in this forum about what you can/can't delete/freeze you can see a significant performance gain.
I just want to dispell the illusion that removing the Sense launcher removes Sense itself, they are two different things. As we decompile and sift through the software on the phone we'll figure out what we can and can't get away with.
Don't forget there are other things to get rid of to truly remove the Sense launcher, such as /system/framework/com.htc.rosie.jar (and corresponding .odex file) .
What I posted in the second post of this thread is enough to get it out of the way so you can use something else, but a far cry from removing it entirely. The deeper you dig, the less stable it all becomes. Until someone releases a rom that starts from the ground up, there's only so much we can get away with starting from the top down.
Meantime, though, everything we're doing here and talking about is helping the people who will develop a rom get an idea of how the system works. Threads like this and the questions being asked and answered are a big help.
And of course, this is all good fun too. Android is like legos, you can basically just build what you want with whatever pieces you want to use. Android is pretty robust and self-correcting, you have to do something drastic (like delete phone.apk) to break it.
sonicjam - I was messing around with launchers again since I got my battery taken care of and i'd forgotten what GO was like.
I tried to use GO launcher a while ago, but on the Nook Color, which is really underpowered for such a thing. It didn't run so well and I put it out of my mind.
I downloaded it and started playing with it, and now that I have a piece of hardware that can run it well, it's a fantastic piece of software.
All the different fun options to have it change pages are pretty cool, and my lady was really getting a kick out of it all.
I think I found my new favorite launcher, I just wanted to say thanks for turning me on to it! It really makes the phone fun to play with.
I love the fact that I can have as many desktop screens as I want, and this device can handle quite a few...I now have enough space to never have to go in my app drawer again and not be all cluttered.
Once we get a custom rom, or figure out how to remove Sense itself, this is going to become my permanent launcher. In the meantime i'll keep using it.
I just can't get over how smooth it runs on this device, it really is amazing.
Just wanted to say thanks!

I know you also said in your post that you like GO launcher, and i'm definitely a convert now, but if you want something that will give you a significant performance boost, Zeam launcher is the most lightweight launcher on the market.
(maybe MoDaCo's port of the gingerbread launcher is about as fast, it's hard to tell)

[Q] Removing the TouchWiz Mini Apps Tray

Hi everyone. First of all, many thanks to Gary for Root. It was quick and painless.
Now that we have root, I was wondering if anyone knows what needs to be deleted in order to get rid of that pesky pop up menu you get by pressing on the Chevron/Arrow in the middle of the bar.
I have the Wizz Bar (what an unfortunate name) installed and it does the job so much better. If you're wondering what Wizz Bar is, it basically allows you to pick your own applications or commands and bind them to the little Chevron or Arrow in the middle of the Honeycomb Bar (also called the "Mini Apps Tray")
However the built in action that pops up the Task Manager/World Clock/Calculator etc also initiates. Is there some way to remove the TouchWiz Apps Tray?
Or does this require more tinkering than a simple apk deletion from system/apps

It's much more involved. That aspect of touchwiz is buried somewhere in the frameworks. The last time I checked (a month ago), several people on both the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9 forums were looking for the same thing, but I haven't seen any good solutions.
If you find something over in one of those forums, try to get information on HOW they did it, and I'll try to reproduce it with ours.
I know with HTC phones modding such things requires the knowledge of decompiling, compling and signing apk's using apkTool or apkManager and editing smalis in notepad ++. You would have to track down which particular file contains the code and then know how to edit it to hide the taskbar. As an example just the simple task of hiding the clock in the notification bar of my HTC Incredible phone required the addition of 2 lines of code in the clock.smali file inside SystemUI.apk and the only way to get it to work was to push the file back to the phone and set permissions with adb. You couldn't just copy and paste it back in.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I actually did go look at a bunch of 10.1 and 8.9 ROMs and it looks like there may be a solution out there. I've contacted one of the ROM developers for an answer.
If someone tells you what file to edit and what lines of code to use please post it as it will be useful to the community.
You may install honeybar form market to hide/unhide the bottom bar(notification and clock as well)

i just tried honeybar and it doesn't work for me. I also have go launcher ex installed so not sure if it's conflicting. I see the white box for honeybar, but pressing on it multiple times does nothing (it even goes away eventually as described in the install notes).
Honeybar isn't the solution that most of us are looking for. I myself love the Honeycomb default bar. It's the Mini-Apps Tray that is entirely useless. The least that Samsung could have done was to make the shortcuts changeable by the user.
The whole point of quick access to shortcuts is to have a quick access to the applications you use the most without flipping through homescreens or going to the Apps Tray. Thanks Samsung, I really need the World Time and Calculator more than I need the Browser and Settings Panel.

I've wondered whether there was a way to intercept the trigger that touching the chevron activates and just redirecting it to another command (such as what happens when you hit the "home" button after you've installed a home replacement). That way we wouldn't have to worry about hacking the touchwiz dock for customizing, we just replace it altogether so something else is invoked by touching the shortcut.

Re-mapping the function would be more involved than just turning it off but it is possible if you know what you're doing. For HTC phones there's a mod called rosie remap which does just about the same thing but its a complicated hack. It remaps a + button on the phone that ads apps to the homescreen, the mod allows you to reassign the button so it opens any app you want. I believe this is a framework-res.apk mod. Eventually someone who is familar with touchwiz will do these mods, if they haven't already for the 8.9 or 10.1, which should all be pretty much the same.
Edit: I think the chevron function would be in the touchwiz apk located in system/app but I don't know what Samsung calls it. HTC calls their Sense UI Rosie and you mod Rosie.apk to do the remapping of their UI specific buttons. If the chevron is part of honeycomb itself then it would be in the framework-res.apk file I bbelieve.
This is good info flowing in. I'm gonna see if I can figure out some more.
On a positive note - guess what Samsung changed? Exactly what I was *****ing about :
Mini Apps : Upgraded so you can choose and edit your own Mini Apps tray. You can easily access favorite features such as Calendar, Email, or PenMemo as a pop up over full screen applications.

Was there an update that I don't know about that allows this??? I really like the idea of the mini app tray, but like was said before, not having the ability to put your most used apps there makes it pretty useless.
Please explain how apps can now (or in the near future) be changed in the tray.
Thanks!!!
I guess until they release 7.7 we won't know. Unless there's an update out on KIES. But I really doubt it.
Confirmed:7.7 has fully customisable mini apps tray...i'm disappointed in Samsung for releasing 'premium' products in such close succession that are so different in functionality. Why did they not include this basic and important feature on all new of their new tablet products? I actually feel somewhat conned now

i just tried honeybar and it doesn't work for me. I also have go launcher ex installed so not sure if it's conflicting. I see the white box for honeybar, but pressing on it multiple times does nothing (it even goes away eventually as described in the install notes).

Pare, actually like it better because i don't like stock honeycomb desktop and app drawer. I set swipe up gesture to hide/unide the dock and also changed the stock dock icons.
Once we're able to customize the Touchwiz shortcuts, or hijack the launch command so we can tell it to launch something else, I'll be much happier.
For those who've not seen this function in action yet, check it out in this video at 2.05: http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=tBpzweqvKJA
Surely Samsung can put this function in tab plus on an update ... and they need to. The app tray is almost functionless otherwise. The presence of this thread is sufficient evidence that there is a high demand and several unsatisfied customers. Many customers have spent over £400 on this tablet. Why did they put it onto the 7.7 which was going on sale only a few days/weeks after the tab plus?

Just for my two cents, I would also like to see the app tray made editable. I've only had my unit for a couple of days, and I already feel its wasted on me for what it holds. Hoping for that to change in a coming update.

Where is this "mini apps?" Did I miss something?

[Q] Folder problems in Supreme Sense 9.1

In stock I used folders on my panels to organize the many apps I play with, its my first smartphone so i'm toying with all sorts of things. Recently I flashed Supreme Sense 9.1 (it pretty) and while redoing my setup I noticed an odd quirk with the folders.
I have a folder named Games
I link an app onto the panel
Then move said app to the folder
Open folder, see app, launch it
Play around a bit exit using home key
Usually i'm exiting in landscape mode
Taken to home panel, swipe over to my app panel
Folder is open, no apps showing within it
Anyone else? If they work for anyone else, i'll probably try reflashing. As a side note, is Sense 3.0 completely incapable of landscape think I read that here somewhere.
Dogan
Might try Mikshifted, read that executive is damn sexy too
Why all the extra steps . Sense 3.0 is now capable of Landscape. Apparently a Rom from the HTC Flyer Tablet has been ported over. The Executive Theme is Awesome. Only issue is that as of right now it has not been updated to work with MikShifted G v2.0 .
Yea like prboy said the HTC flyer ROM is here and it is awesome IMO. Im a flashaholic and ive stayed with it since its release to the shift

Sweet, I'll look around for that. I'd like to see it in something other than a port, wondering if the Shift ROM dev's are considering adding it due to our keyboard ability.

Which I will probably try out if/when it comes out.
If I am wrong about the folders, how so... perhaps its a procedural error (apparently I load folders counter-intuitively) that I can fix that would solve my problem or is it a bug/incorrect flash that i'm dealing with here?
Dogan
Thanks BTW.

Well I'm not all that about it
. I'm sure it's great I just cannot give an opinion as I have not tried it. Was just letting him know of the option .

If you want to make a shortcut to something just long press on the panel in the spot you want the item. When the pop up menu comes up choose a widget for the item if avaiable. Or choose the App itself, that's it.

I get that part, I do that to get an app shortcut on the panel. Then I can move that shortcut into a folder. The reason I did this is, Should I have 6 panels full of widgets leaving 1 panel for applications. There are only, what 12 spots for application shortcuts? Now as a new guy in this wonderful world of handheld computing, I'm experimenting with all sorts of games and apps. I got a heck of a lot more than 12 and my apps list is huge making it a hassle to scroll the list. That is when I found the folder ability, where in stock I can put a folder onto the panel. I can then place the app shortcuts into this panel folder and open it... like a category.
Say I'm going to my phone to play around with some pictures I just took. I swipe over to my apps panel, click on the tools folder, choose from my selection of image editing apps that I put there. This to me is better than scrolling through 5+ pages of apps on the full list. Currently I can do all that (as I could in stock), but when I exit the application it empties the folder of app shortcuts. On top of that, the folder remains open and it seems clicking on the close folder X clicks behind it forcing me to hit a small sweet spot above the X that closes the folder on the panel. Brain screams Bug, but being new to all this thought perhaps it could be some lingering bit caused by an app data restore or bad/incomplete flash.
It seems we're not on the same panel. No worries, just thought i'd verify this seemingly odd behavior before I moved on. Thanks for taking the time and tackling all that code.

Not ungrateful
Ok I think I'm getting what your trying to do now. Why don't you create a folder Shortcut on a panel. Then just move the app to that. That way the folder shortcut just open to a bunch of apps of you choosing. So theoretically you can have 12 Folders per panel.
Alright I think I have it figured out, but I don't know exactly why it does it because its not my ROM (I just enjoy using it). Seems to be a RAM issue, more specifically a RAM clearing/freeing system that causes it. Oddly, everytime I try to video the bug it doesn't do it or does something else entirely. Was extremely repeatable until then.
First time I tried to video it, the live wallpaper freaked out, compressed to 1/4 of the side and folder contents were retained. Second time, nothing happened and I'm not willing to take 30min of gameplay video to better test it. I don't think anyone has the time or care to test this right now, but next time you get a fresh Supreme Sense build and before you restore your backup put a large RAM intensive app on there and link a shortcut into a folder. Run the app and play for a while, pretty sure I'm doing 30 - 60min as I'm laying in bed prior to sleep. Exit app, go back to folder and the bug that I get shows up... Folder remains open, shortcuts are gone, folder is behind other shortcuts on that panel in terms of touching but on top of other shortcuts visually (I have google search bar on that panel on the top row, trying to close folder opens the voice search interface instead).
What clued me in, was juice defender's log claiming low ram and how juice defender was in danger of being killed automatically to free up ram. I'll test it out a few more times after extended play in the upcoming nights. There is a possibility that my recent install of Juice Defender solved it by denying background applications their usual access to data thus freeing up RAM.
BTW, flashed an ICS theme... Should call this combo Supreme Sexier 9.1

Ok so I have a few questions. You mentioned a Ram issue. Did you do a FULL Wipe, like the one mentioned in the link in my Sig? You also mentioned Restoring your backup. Did you mean that you restored Data with Titanium Backup, or a similar app? Because restoring Data for System Apps, and sometimes even Games. Has been known to cause issues, and glitches. Also, Juice Defender IMO causes more issues than anything else. IMO Task Killers in general are not a good idea. They usually use more memory than the save.

I did a full wipe after restoring from a nandroid backup
I followed the wipe&flash directions in the video linked in the supreme sense thread
They're a little different, only 1x each instead of 3x and without step 9 (reboot wipe cache & dalvik cache again)
Very likely it could have been while restoring with Titanium. Pretty sure that might have been what sunk Cyanomod since after a full restore via Titanium it locked up on reboot(waited 15min never got past loading screen). With SupremeSense I believe I selectively restored SMS, Contacts, App Data. Juice Defender was installed after the issue was noticed, it just gave me a log with info on what else was going on by chance. For now I think it is just me which is okay, although the backup causing issues is rather annoying.
Dogan
I need to do more app research
Do a Full Wipe according to the Guide. Then don't restore anything, drive it around for a few hours as is. See if any issues pop up. Then restore your items one by one, try not to restore any data. That way you'll be able to pinpoint the issue.

It will probably be a while before I opt to chance losing everything again. So I figure I'll just thank you for your persistent assistance now and use the more thorough flashing followed by an extended break-in period before restoring with the next ROM that catches my eye.

90% of my wants are met by SupremeSense 9.1
We'll at least till the next release of Supreme Sense
