Pocket Hotmail does not function

Yesterday I installed PocketHotmail 2.5 beta, and I just can't get the critter to work on my Qtek S110. After following the instructions exactly, I still can't authorize the account.
Does anyone know of a program that gives Hotmail support to the Inbox program? Or maybe a program that can replace Inbox (perhaps even with a function that lets me send and recieve mail for all my accounts with one click)?

Why dont you try Pocket MSN, its built-in with any Windows Mobile device. Just sign-in, enter your hotmail e-mail add and password, thats it. Hotmail account will automatically be added to the messaging accounts once signed-in. Cheers.

pocket msn is just too big and overloaded. a simple tool like pockethotmail (costs 5 dollar) is definitely the better solution.
i've tried it too with no success. i already contacted the developer yesterday but have no reply yet, i'll let you know what he says, ok?

Hi guys, thanks for your replies. I've already tried a new program called HTTPmail provider wich works perfect. The only thing is the function that says "download headers only" does not disable the attachments. Oh well, it gets the job done! Hope you guys can use it as well .

Yes, I use Http hotmail, and it's works properly for me too.

what is this http hotmail ?? is it http://www.hotmail.com or is it a program named http hotmail if its a program called http hotmail could someone please post it caz ive googled it to no result.....

The program is called HTTPmail Provider and enables you to use Hotmail in your Inbox.
So it's HTTPmail Provider .

just downloaded it from pocketgear.com.....thanks have'nt tried it as yet will see how it works

Alright! If you need any help, let me know . The only problem with the program is that it downloads attachments automatically, but I do have an older version .

i cannot download hotmail emails..... i have a @hotmail.co.uk account would this have any effect ?

When adding a new account I entered [email protected] in the email address box. This allowed me to get to the next available settings needed to configure the account. Once I configured and setup the account, I went back into the account settings and changed the email address to [email protected]. Works now

is this for the login too? or just the reply email address?

Not for login
I used all of my correct info for the login. Incoming server is pop3.live.com and outgoing is smtp.live.com in case you wonder.

I'm making progress!
at least it now asks for my password. but it keeps saying it's wrong.
are you using HTTP mail or pocket hotmail at all?

Email APP problem

Hy there.
I'm triying to configure my working email on my captivate.
Y have all the configuration information an when i put in on the phone everithing test ok, incoming and outgoing email.
The thing is that i can send emails but not recive, my incoming box is always empty.
Please Help. I have tried it on POP and IMAP i whant it on IMAP do.

We need more info. What e-mail are you using (hotmail, gmail, exchange,other?), which e-mail app, what version of android do you have on your phone and what modifactions have you done, and what are the settings you using? For example,
I am running Cog beta 7, froyo, and replaced the e-mail app with this opne here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8453938&postcount=99
I am running my hotmail, aol and att.net e-mails on it.
Hotmail and AOL was automatic in settings, but att.net required a bunch more
For exchange I am using roadsync.

I have Android 2.1
I'm using my working email with the same configuration y have on my outlook an everywhere.
I even download K-9 Mail from the market and used the same configuration and it worked.
the thing is that I what to use the standard that comes with the captivate, because amonge meny thing it has the link on the home screen and is like ussless.

Did you change the sync 3 day setting? Press menu, settings, accounts and sync. Select the exchange account and change the days to 1 month. Also try sendin yourself a message, if it does not send or receive, there is something wrong with your settings.
Also if you are using exchange, check with your admin that your username did not get locked out, happend to me and I had no idea. If it is another e-mail, and not exchnage having an issue, let me know exactly which e-mail is giving you an issue.

I'm using it on IMAP and as I told you earlier, the acount setting ar ok because they work on the other program K-9 Mail.
Please help.

use k-9 and forget the samsung junk. you can even put it on the launch bar.
k-9 is the fastest android mail app that ive tried. it was almost real time. not that 5 minute sync that the stock one and many others have. mail droid is similar but having both running k-9 gave the notifications first.
if you dont know how to change the apps on the launch bar, press the applications icon, press menu, change view type to customizable grid.
press menu, choose edit, move desired icon to the launcher.
press menu, select save.

I agree with Dani, if the stock app does not work and K-9 does, use K-9. If the settings are correct and it still does not work, it may be an issue with the app.

setting up Hotmail account

So I finally got fed up with not being able to send emails through my hotmail account on my phone. I set it up as POP3. I also got fed up with my messages being deleted without me actually deleting them.
I did a quick search about trying to set up my hotmail account and didn't really find an answer. I don't want to root my phone just to get my e-mail to work. I don't want to go through a 3rd party (App via market) to get my e-mails. Is there really no way that I can get my hotmail to actually work on my phone??? I mean this is ridiculous. Something as simple as e-mail doesn't work properly.
I've had my hotmail account for over 10 years and it is my main e-mail.

I use MSN and have no issues. Only thing I had to change in the stock mail app was the Security type from SSL to TLS for the outgoing server.

have you tried setting it up as an exchange account. works perfect on the mytouch4g. gives me push mail and leaves messages on the server.

Username Full e-mail address (such as: [email protected])
Domain Leave this blank
SSL Enable this
Certificate Accept the SSL certificate when prompted

ok so i accidently deleted the exchange account (trying to delete the POP3 account) and now it wont let me add it again =(. idk whats wrong.

Yahoo won't work anymore

My Yahoo mail stoped working for no reason, it keeps saying that my account info form my smtp is incorrect?? WT? No it's not it is correct.

Are you using a pre-configured Yahoo account type on the phone, or using a manually-configured Yahoo POP access account (requires a paid account)? I'm having no problem with Yahoo on my phone (paid account, but I'm using the pre-configured account type on the phone and the paid access for Outlook on the PC).
If it doesn't come back in a day or three, delete the account and try re-creating it.

It's a manually configured POP 3 Yahoo account that was working fine, I did no updates or configuration changes; I noticed that it bombs out when I try to send an attachment, it keeps saying my smtp account informaiton is wrong.

I forgot to mention that this has happend 3 times before and each time I've deleted and recreated my Yahoo account but this time it has not worked. This is really starting to get on my nerves; why does Windows Phone do this? My account settings are correct, ive even double checked they are the same as my Outlook on my computer; what gives?

Okay I narrowed it down to that if I don't attach a picture to it it works fine; WT So now I can't send pictures via email because I gett that stupid error. Help.

Try using the automatic Yahoo account type (which will use IMAP, and possibly a different SMTP server). I don't know why attaching an image is messing up the server you're using, but there seems to be some kind of problem.

I am having the same issue and I am just trying to send a regular plain text email. Then I went to yahoo and for some reason I had to reinstate my account. When another friend of my reported the same problem. We figured it was a yahoo, issue.

[Q] Stock Mail App

Hello,
I have a dificut with e-mail app who comes with the TF700.
Cause I don't know why, everytime that I try log in my e-mail account, the app show me the message: "Log In or Password incorrect" but my log and my password are not incorrect.
First a write my log and password and ok.... After it the app show me a screen to I select one of the three options: "POP3", "IMAP" or "Exchange",
I don't know what it is, but when select POP3 or Exchange show the messa "impossible conect with the server" or something like that.
So I select the IMAP, and the app "talk" to me that my account or password are incorrect,but it's not.
Is it a tablet problem? Is it a app problem? Is this problem just happening with me or with everybody? Have I to do something to the app run ok?
PS: I use the outlook.com e-mail, I try with other e-mail like hotmail but it don't run too

Did you create your outlook.com email as outlook.com, or was it originally @hotmail.com, @msn.com or @live.com ? If so, try to use the old domain name instead of the new outlook one.

um....have you checked the play store for the outlook.com app as I'm pretty sure there's one there for this?
