I do nont know but i have strange feeling that after 3.2 update my transformer drains more power. I mean the battery is draining faster than before the patch? Have you noticed similar thing? (i do not have the docking station)
I seem to be seeing that as well, and the wifi signal seems to be weaker. Not sure if I want to put in a problem report.
Wifi signal is weaker for me too, but the battery's been just fine.
I noticed also that the standby battery wasn't as good on 3.2 for me compared to 3.1. After messing around with the device for a while I found that even when the battery saving mode was checked, the keyboard wouldn't wake up the transformer but a touch of the trackpad did. I thought that there might be some background service that was stopping the transformer from going into deep sleep so I used advanced task killer to kill everything and the device would go into deep sleep. Also, I read on another forum that it might be a syncing service for picasa. I turned that off, killed everything using advanced task killer again and battery life now is equivalent to what I got in 3.1.
I feel my batterie last longer. But I have to measure it first.
I've done some (informal) tests, and I'm getting about .5%/hour consumption on standby after 3.2, where I was getting about 2%/hour consumption on 3.1 and earlier. This is just the tablet, mind you.
So, 3.2 has significantly improved the situation for me. I haven't really measured in-use as closely, but it seems pretty much the same (which is about 10%/hour consumption if I'm really using it).

My Wifi is very good
The battery is good
My wifi has improved by a bar and the battery seems a little bit better. But that's only if I don't struggle with trying to get on wifi.
Maybe during use but if anything my standby time is longer.
Battery seems the same to me, as does wifi.

That has been my experience also.
After 3.2 mine seems to be draining the battery quicker with wifi on & surfing. I might get 4 hours of continuous surfing if that.
Me too, last night I have 95% of battery before switch off to the standby mode (screen off with the wifi sleep), but this morning TF has just 72%.
I am now testing it. I switch off the wifi function first, then switch off to the standby mode.
My friend also notices this problem after upgrade to 3.2...he said 52% to 17% just one night sleeping...wow...what a unbelivable report!
Look at the battery use reports on your settings and see what is taking up a good chunk of your battery life besides screen and wi-fi and you may find a problem. For me, I saw that Google Maps took up 25% of my battery and I only used it for five minutes (it said that it was on for over two hours). I tried force closing and nothing worked until I uninstalled the updates for it and haven't turned it on. Now my battery life is much better. You may also want to check applications that are turning your wi-fi on to update themselves, like e-mail and facebook apps, etc.
Check for Google latitude. It appears to keep GPS running even when TF turned off.
I am on 3.2 since yesterday (Belgium) with B6 dock.
Fully loaded and half a day later in standby 63%.
On 3.1 this would have been 83%.
Battery drain is much greater on 3.2 on my TF!

Mine has been better since the update and I have the ****ty B4O dock. I charged mine on Sunday then went on vacation with it Monday, on way home now and only charged it once on Thurs one the dock finally drained and the tab was down to 60%. Seems like they did something to help as that was unseen before, I had to charge it daily.
I also notice faster battery drain after the 3.2 update.
when I went to bed last night: Tablet 97%, Dock 72%.
This morning (about 9 hours): Tablet is the same, Dock 30%. WTH???
I noticed it today. I leave my dock on the Transformer even when its off and folded. I used it a few times to in the span of 2 days tying into a journal. Today the dock was at 3% Screen at 98. Im guessing its feeding power to the screen. The only settings i have different is screen always on. I shut the screen down when im done using it, or set the Transformer aside or off.

Is anyone that is having battery issues running Adao Task Manager and Battery Status Pro?
I just factory reset my phone and I got 24hours of batter life. About 8 standby but a good deal of texting, web, some calls and some you tube.
I installed Task Manager and Batter Status Pro last night and my battery this morning went down 15% in about 1hr.
I uninstalled these today and will post again but has anyone else seen big battery drain from these apps or does anyone that is having issues running something similar?
I have been playing with the battery for about a week now.
For me this phone runs pretty good during stand-by. I would have about 2-3% drop for a whole night (7 to 8 hrs), with Google (push), Twitter and weather syncing.
The problem is when you use it, it drops like crazy. When I read news or surf the web, it would drop 1% every 1 or 2 min.
This morning I read an ebook, with black background for about 30 min, it dropped about 3%.
So basically i think the screen, data connection, and non-black background are the ones that kill the battery.
Yea, I agree, the S-AMOLED screen in this thing is an energy hog. OLED's are supposed to be more energy efficient than typical LCD's but I'm just not seeing it. Whenever I look at battery usage stats it shows the display at 70-75% of battery usage. Thats ridiculous. I have until the 18th, but I'm quickly leaning towards returning this and just getting an iphone4. This phone is becoming more and more disappointing the longer I have it.
This morning I have been uplugged 4.75hrs and used 16% no battery monitor and no app killer. Basically done the same things I did yesterday. Some Bebbled,texting, email, phone calls .
I will update tomorrow with total hours battery life for today. Would be happy if I can replicate the 24hours I got the day before installing those apps.
I got like 45 hours of battery with moderate usage during the two days. Seems fine to me, I occasionally used system panel to monitor if anything was using high and constant CPU
This is pretty typical of a 1ghz phone My nexus would last a day of heavy usage, 2 days if i use it lightly. We need to wait for undervolted kernels to be developed xD
Also, it really helps if you disable 3G when you don't use it. This allows me to get 3-4 days of light usage out of my nexus. I haven't played with the Captivate long enough to know how much of a difference this makes on this phone though
when you guys refer to "stand by", what exactly do you mean? Just screen off/phone idle? The battery usage on my phone when I use it seems to be OK even if not amazing, but it continues to sap life from the battery when I'm using it at an alarming rate.
Standby is when the phone is idle/screen off/locked.
The display is definitely power hungry. Using the Power Control widget that comes installed definitely has helped with battery life. It will let you toggle WiFi, BT, GPS, Data Sync, and Brightness (at 3 levels). When I'm not using anyone of those, I turn it off. When I'm indoors, I'll set the brightness to the lowest level. I'm usually at my desk when I'm streaming music, so I'll have it plugged in.

Actually they are more energy efficient on black screens, But screens with a lot of white in them suck battery bad.

This is true the white screens burn the battery etc. I just wanted to let everyone know what I did to make my battery last more that 24hrs.
First, read the Wiki guide and apply some of the battery saving tips.
Second, UNINSTALL a program called "gReader" created by noinnion. This program is a huge battery hog! At least it was for me.

Well I guess I am one of the "lucky ones" Im running a live wallpaper and have not run my battery down since the 1st day. Right now Im at 40% life and at 15 Hrs 30m since unplugged. This is with checking facebook, twitter, email, phone calls, internet browsing\video watching and following the steps for the GPS fix. The only thing I have done is install ATK on the phone, besides that its all stock.
One thing I know is a huge battery drain is Time without Service. Check that stat and see if you have anytime at all without service, if so, I am pointing to that as a major drain on the battery. I know currently I have 0% Time without signal, my fiancee however is usually in the 20+% range and her battery drains like many reports I have seen here (she has an EVO).....
Yesterday I only managed 16 hours. Web, Email, A bluetooth file transfer, short bit of gaming. I have about 5% of the cell standby time (26%) without signal. My girlfriend has the Aria which is running Android 2.1 also, has all sorts of widgets, haptic feedback on and can make it at least 24 hours. I get that it has a smaller screen but it is also an LCD. Shouldn't the Super Amoled be saving our battery some display consumption.
i get about 14 hours or so moderate usage and at the end of the day, i have about 35% left at night.
If you detail the "Display" usage in the battery usage details how many minutes has your screen been on? Mine says 1hour 2mins ...this is for 8 hours of running time. My display is using 50% of the battery (which is at 68% now).
W00t W00t today I have reached a new high 2 Days 6 hours and 29 minuts with 12% battery left.....
What I have found is keeping Wifi on while I am at work and home like almost doubled my battery life. Which is great that I can use Wifi all day and not drain the battery so fast like my Fuze. Right now been off charger since 7:30am and I have 84% left. Yesterday after 9 hours I was still over 50%. For me its better than any other smartphone I have owened.
I used manual brightness, (swipe notification bar), turn off GPS/BT. black wallpaper and set Wifi to never sleep. Also the power saving mode in settings is off for other reason and doesn't affect battery.
At 18% right now and it's been off the charger for about 30 hours. I noticed yesterday that while I was connected to wifi at home (with Y5 app), it was draining faster than when I was connected to 3g. Did some tested back and forth and JuicePlotter clearly had a noticeably steeper downward slope for when wifi was connected than when it was using 3g. Weird :\
Has anyone noticed their battery life seems shorter since the update ? I installed the official froyo update last night and it seems I'm running out of juice much quicker than before.
At first mine ran down faster. I ran it all the way down. Charged it. And ran it all the way down again and charged. It seems back to normal.
I didn't have any issues. Maybe you changed something else as well? Could always try a few recharge cycles and see if it stabilizes..
I was running the leaked 2.2 and I flashed to official 2.2. My battery life is almost double what it was. I can't complain one bit about battery life, although I have other gripes with the official Froyo release.
I'm with icepop on this one.. I was running the stock rogers rom pre-update and now with the official rogers 2.2 I'm getting at least double the use before having to charge again.
I'm having battery issues with the new stock Froyo. I lose a huge amount of juce when in standby. I thought I may have my widgets updating too often so I charged it up and put it into airplane mode last night. The phone lost about 1% per hour in airplane mode. IDK what is normal but that seems like a lot to me. I didn't have any apps running, except my alarm was set for the morning.
I have SystemPanel installed and my cpu load NEVER goes below 10 percent, even in airplane mode. I suspect this is a large part of the issue. In app history, system and system processes are always on the top of the list and are around 3% each. IDK what controls this or how to lower it. I would love some feedback from someone else with SystemPanel just to see how our numbers compare. Overall the battery life I'm experiencing is pretty terrible and a buddy of mine's Fascinate has much better battery life (hence something must be wrong somewhere). He and I were skiing all day over the weekend and when we got back to our cars, my phone was half dead and his had lost almost zero juice. This displeases me.

My initial results with 2.2 were very bad (10% drop per hour when idling). I reset the phone back to 2.1 then re-installed 2.2. This did not help. Now I did this again (2.1 then 2.2) but this time I have not re-installed my apps and have not rooted (yet). So far, battery life seems to be normal. I suspect that some of my applications might mis-behave when installed on 2.2. I am planning to add them slowly and watch the battery.

Mine is terrible ! I don't know what it might have been on 2.1 as I upgraded fairly quickly. Essentially I charge all night and then disconnect from power at 6:30am and then by 4:30pm I'm out of juice (phone shuts off). Any ideas here? I'm not running anything extravegant (email only) and hardly make any calls.
Whenever you flash to a new ROM, wait for at least a week of normal usage before you judge the battery life. The reason is simple, your battery stats are reset after ROM flash and your new OS needs time to learn how your battery drains before it can give you accurate readings.
If you can't wait for that long, you need follow the battery calibration thread to force a manual calibration of the battery.
I'll give it a week and see how it is then. Definitely is draining much quicker now though. I think It acted similiarly when I first got the phone as well. If I recall correctly the batter life sucked when I first got it, but then a week or so seemed to get much better.

This seems improved since calibration but its still pretty terrible IMHO. Is this in line with the amount of drain other are getting or am I draining more than usual?

Running stock since purchasing the Captivate back in August, and so far battery life actually seems to be routinely as good if not better than 2.1. I must admit I didn't use my phone a huge amount yesterday (except for about an hour plus of downloading a bunch of wallpapers off Zedge for some ungodly reason lol), and after 18 hours of the phone being on I was still over 50% battery life left. 2.5% in standby doesn't sound like all is well - you must have something running in the background or similar issue. I have a live background, sync 5 e-mail accounts (granted, only one of those is every 15 minutes - the others are every thirty minutes, every hour, and once a day on two of them), and with light use I am getting over 40 hours with 2.2 so far (about in line with 2.1, but seems maybe just a little better). Heavy use I am dropping more like to the 12 - 18 hour mark (heavy use for me means the screen on more than off, actively playing games or using apps, large amounts of texting, etc. Solid game playing I haven't figured out a drain yet, but on some games it seems like I can drop almost the whole battery in close to 10 hours). At your rate of 2.5% per hour in standby you would only make it forty hours without even using the phone. I have been using mine just a little this morning (FB check, logging in to one of the desktops at work remotely to make some changes, live background running, WiFi sleep policy is set to when screen is off, but to be honest that is about it) and I haven't moved off the 100% mark yet and the phone has been unplugged over an hour and a half.
All that said though, as other users have stated you might want to give it a little more time for the system to recalibrate the battery usage. I would definitely check your processor usage though regularly to see if anything seems 'off'. One thing that caused me problems was that my SNS service would be running but then would get stuck in a pattern of 'Restarting' - would drain my battery rapidly.
It has been said that bettery drain is not linear. First 5% goes real fast. So, you need to judget the average over a day of use, not first hour or so. I'm still in first week of ROM flashing. So I can't confirm anything yet.

On average my TF is losing between 3.5 and 5% battery in standby mode. I have done a few tests with and with out airplane mode and it does not change.
I currently have an RMA setup with ASUS but I dont want to have to send it back and wait 14 days, so I wanted to reach out here first.

Every device I've ever owned has lost power during standby. That's the tradeoff. Otherwise, you could, you know...turn it off?
Windows has that nice "hibernate" hybrid.
It's totally not worth an RMA...don't let your OCD win.
There are a few processes that run in the background like Android OS, WiFi, keyboard etc. It needs to be reactive to certain signals so it can't be off completely. The iPad has amazing stand-by times but I don't know why. I just saw it when I borrowed one for a day from a friend.
I would NOT RMA my device unless it's a significant drop in battery life (>10%/h); it's just the way it is mate!
But what I realized is after I rooted, installed SetCPU and set the governor to ondemand the battery life has increased significantly. It idles at 216MHz now.
mine doesn't have a great standby time either, pretty bad actually when you compare it to my xoom. however its an issue that should be fixed with a software update and it shouldn't require an rma.

Check if you have your Wifi on sleep also?? Depending on number of applications that you use for updating it might be using your battery.
There are a number of other threads already discussing the issue of battery life in standby, but here's my conclusion: the TF has an issue with wifi that if you set it to stay on while the TF's screen is off (a setting in the wifi section of system settings), it burns quite a bit of battery while on standby. If you set it to turn off when the screen is off, then it doesn't.
I know this is a bug with the TF because the Xoom does not exhibit this behavior. It burns less than .5%/hour when on standby with wifi set to stay on when the screen is off. The TF gets this same performance (<.5%/hour burn) on standby only if wifi is set to turn off. Otherwise, I'm getting the same as you: around 3.5%/hour burn rate.
I'm assuming that the TF's wifi just doesn't enter whatever low-power state it's supposed to enter while on standby. My second assumption is that this is something that will get fixed in an update.

Is there an adjustment for the Wifi and/or app settings. In general the second or third largest power consumer in these devices is the radios. The radio needs to be powered up whenever a connection needs data. This can be for keep alive messages that verify the existence of a wifi connection to an access point, or from an app such as gmail, calendar, etc. checking for new data. In any case there may be settings that allow one to decrease the frequency of these operations.

FYI, I did a few tests with airplane mode on and I was still losing around 3.5%-5% battery life.
I did do a few more tests, and my most recent test I found interesting.
I use my TF as usual and had a few applications running, I then turned off the screen and let it sit for an hour and 4% battery life was used.
Then I powered down my TF fully, then I powered it back up and turned off the screen. (Currently the TF is up and running but no applications have been opened aside from backround apps Syncing).
I put the TF into standby (turned off the screen) at 1:37 am and I had 53% battery life.
I checked on the TF in the morning at 8:51am, and I had 51% battery life.
So in just over 7 hours my TF only used 2% battery life in standby which is a very acceptable range.
Conclusion, what ever apps we are opening and using under normal use are not being fully closed out, and are running in the backround, not the backround services as per the airplane mode test.
I will do a few more tests tommorrow, I hope this helps and I look forward to others feedback!

Brandon - Please check out yours with wifi set to turn off when the screen is off. In all of my testing (similar to yours), that made the difference between great standby performance (<.5%/hour) and not-so-great (3.5%/hour or more). Nothing else seemed to matter, including manually turning off just about every app that normally runs in the background and verifying that they stayed off.
Hopefully soon Asus will also fix the battery stats bug so that we can see what apps/system components are actually using power on standby. Or they'll just fix wifi so that it sleeps as it should.

I have already done the tests with WIFI turned off and also with the TF in Airplane Mode.
So far the only time I have gotten great standby time was when I rebooted my TF and did not open any applications. (WIFI was on FYI)

so, the last two night i've gotten great result from stand by mode. The first night i went and killed couple of programs, before putting in AP mode for the night. 12:45 am till 9:00 am from 78% 75%. Last night at 12:00am had 34% this morning at 8:00 it dropdown to 32%.
I took a screenshot of the battery usage after waking up in the morning. Wifi was left on with the sleep policy set to sleep on screen off. It seems to turn back on intermittently but the awake bar seems to happen more often the longer it is in sleep. Is that meant to happen? What does awake signify? That the screen is on?

Would you try "Task killer" for decreasing battery loss?
My battery seems to be dying alot quicker now I have the dock. Hopefully a new firmware will come out that'll lower the battery consumption of the dock when its in standby.
I just noticed in the past few minutes that my gmail is pushing to my tablet despite the screen being off and my wifi policy set to off when sleeping. I've also found some issues when it would actually cut the wifi off when sleeping, and when it comes back it doesn't want to reconnect to my router.
My other issue is battery life related. Last night I *believe* I turned airplane mode on before going to sleep and when I woke up 9 hours or so later, the battery was at least 10% down, I think more than that but I didn't take note of it at night. Even if wifi was on, it should've been shut as my sleep policy is that way. Looking through other threads people seem to be experiencing 1% or so battery drain in an hour. The other factor is that I have setcpu installed and a screen off profile that maxes at the second lowest frequency. This morning I installed netarchy's kernel and lowered my setcpu profile so it stays at the minimum frequency when the screen is off.
I'm running Prime 1.3 (didn't do the r2) and have manually removed a handful of the Asus apps that I don't use/want, and I have GPS disabled.
What 'concerns' me is that I have a droid incredible for a while now and with it, I get no battery drain overnight with airplane mode on (at least none that registers) and that's a battery with a fraction the capacity of the transformer. Moreover, I have a very few apps on my tablet whereas my phone has quite a few and basically beyond the stock stuff on the tablet the same apps are on my phone. Also, the battery stats window on the transformer doesn't show any info about apps. I've had my phone on since I woke up, on 3g and I'm at 90% with not much use. And I thought that my phone got meh battery life.
ive had some issues with wifi disconnecting and wouldn't stop disconnecting till a reboot. cant find any news on it. ive tried all firmwares now and still have the issue.
I been having the same issue. Last night I reflashed the 8.2.3.13-20110511 build, to see it it will help. Mine is stock not rooted.
I have the dock and use the pad with most of the time, both are loosing battery life even after I do a complete shutdown. To me it seems it has gotten worse after the 8.2.3.13-20110511 build update. The WiFi is loosing connection when the dock goes dead so I have to reboot the pad to get it to reconnect.
I also have contacted Asus tech. On another thought I really wish in Android you could disable startup apps without rooting.

Was hoping for more replies but my naturally long-winded posts probably scared everyone off...
I wiped my device and installed Modaco's ROM. I didn't touch the stock apps and only things I've installed are Titanium & Tasker. I put together a Tasker profile to kick airplane mode on when the system is put to sleep, and turn it off when unlocked (unless airplane mode was enabled when put to sleep). I also installed Setcpu and setup a profile to keep the CPU frequency to the minimum when screen is off.
I charged to 100% and let it sit overnight. When I woke up I was at 98%, when I got home a little while ago it was at 96%. Note that I hadn't used the tablet other than for a brief minute or two to check the battery stats. As of now I'm showing 15hrs 51mins on battery with a 4% drop. I've had it in airplane mode the whole time. Oppositely, I had my droid incredible at 100% and played Drop7 (great game btw) for at least 20 minutes before going to bed last night, and it was still 100% when I woke up (it was in airplane mode overnight). I find it weird that my droid incredible, with a 1/4 of the battery capacity doesn't drop at all overnight even with a game being played, and the transformer drops 2% in that time idling.
Has anyone wiped battery stats via CWM?
When I setup AutoStart, I noticed the power state event for screen on/off is off by default. I tried turning back on, seems to improve battery on sleep.

According to some review, infinity should give 9.5 hours of play time with WIFI on. Different use results in different result for sure, but I feel like my battery life is less than that of Galaxy 10.1 and if I remember Xoom. Not matching up with iPad is understandable as no android tablet does as iPad does no multi-tasking and wifi turns off quickly after sleep. But worse than Xoom or 10.1 seems something potentially wrong with my unit.
Is there any official application that can test battery condition? In Mac, there is application called coconut battery which tells you how much of battery you can charge i.e. no battery is usually 100% of its maximal capacity and over time it loses capacity gradually but this application tells that. I wonder if there is similar for Android tablet.
By the way my usage is like reading book and comics, surfing net, not much of game. I'm in balance mode. I checked turn off WIFI while in sleep. I did 1GB+ file transfer over the WIFI. With this overall screen time of 5 hours and I only have 15% battery left. I probably won't make it to 6 hours..
Ehhh... as far as I can tell, the Prime (and consequently, the Infinity) should outrun any iPad as to battery life. What's your scree brightness?
I get like 6-7 browsing, 9-10 reading pdfs and much less gaming (balanced mode, brightness 30%). You can see some averages and estimates in the Battery HD app / widget.

On the crApple forums, loads of people report a consistent 7 hours of use for the iPad3 (or the new iPad, or whatever the thing is called). The TF700 should eat it alive with the dock attached, whereas they'd come out about equal when going face to face 'barehanded'.

I agree with the table as I owned Xoom, Galaxy 10.1, and currently have iPad 2 and Infinity. I don't know about New Ipad. But in my experience iPad 2 always give solid 10 hours or so but again that's probably not fair comparison against Infinity which uses HD screen. So I was going off of http://www.engadget.com/2012/06/25/asus-transformer-pad-infinity-tf700-review/, which shows Infinity having superior battery than the most of newer versions of Xoom 2, Galaxy 2 10.1 etc. I have no doubt with Docking station, Infinity's battery life would be unbeatable except by transformer prime.
But my concern was actually if my unit battery is semi-defective and not charging to full way.
I usually have my screen brightness turned all way down; whereas, above test is 50%... so I was surprised my result. Unless 1GB transfer consumed so much or overnight standby consumed a lot (despite turned off WIFI box checked..). Since we cannot really go off by battery screen on ICS with inifinity, which shows WIFI more than screen... I just have no good way to assess the condition of my battery...

Are you sure that you Infinity is going into deep sleep? There are many cases where a "rogue" app will cause the tablet to never enter deep sleep, thereby draining the battery much faster in standby. You can check for deep sleep with CPU Spy...

I still need to do a scientific test but today at work my screen was on for 3.5 hours and the tablet was off the charger for 11.5 hours. My battery was down to 32%. My screen brightness is IPS off and fixed at around 90%. Looks lovely
I ran my xoom for 2 hours even and 2 hours off charger. During this time however I downloaded a bunch of apps, loaded up all the apps, ran weather bug looking at weather maps, and did some browsing. I was using it continuously to get the feel compared to my infinity.
Anyway after all that the xoom was around 77% batter remaining.
I know that when I tested my xoom soon after I got it I could get around 6.5 hours on the screen before it ran down. On standby it barely uses anything. I'm guessing I use it at work around 3-4 hours. Sometimes I'd forget to charge my xoom and the next day it would usually get me though most of the day... To maybe 1-2pm and I come in at 6:30 so thats almost my whole day.
So yes the battery is definitely less. Tomorrow I'm putting the screen brightness on auto. Thats how had the xoom so maybe it will be a better comparison. Certainly looking at battery usage the screen was using a lot of power. What looks REALLY odd however is that wifi is my number one battery usage.
That just doesn't look right does it? Now I do have it on wifi all day so in this case for 11.5 hours. But I don't on my phone wifi is like 3%... Maybe my tablet and problems are related to an issue with wifi?

check to see if you have a battery leak with some app. turn gps off, dont use auto brightness lol. keep it down more like 65 % indoors you dont need more than that. use the app called juice defender and make sure you kill off anything your not using. google a list of top 10 thigns to do to android to make battery last longer

Yes - I do. My TF700, no dock, seemingly handles just about 4 - 5 hours of activity (not stand by but actual use, be it video, audio, browsing, etc), and when I look at the battery stats under settings - it shows that over 80% went into wi-fi.
I have heard that to make up for the weak Prime's reception ASUS overpowered Infinity wi-fi, so it sucks power out of the battery pretty fast.
I am also assuming that as usual, based on latest update, serial number, QA, etc, the behavior will be different for different tablets, some will see it and some will not.
Good news is that these things are fixable by a soft patch, so we shall see something released by ASUS if many people complain.
So I still have to do more testing, but I guess my tablet is not defective (at least in regards to the battery). i do get pretty much the same result as others replied me back here. After checking the ASUS main site, 14 hours with Dock was measured in Power Saving mode, 720p movie, WIFI on.
So key here was indeed power saving mode, which I was not using. i just switched to Power Saving mode and just looking at 10% drop mark, it seems to go ~50 minutes, which equates similar to what 9.5 hours one site suggested. Application (as far as what I use) runs fine and seems as smooth BUT main thing noticed here is refresh rate of the screen in power save mode seems much lower so when I go back to main screen, i can see some flickering.
But it's great to be able to boost battery life by couple hours and more.
With the device off - - after a full charge, my battery says 97 percent....NEVER 100%. With the charger plugged in, while using the device, I get a max 98 percent charge. Anyone having a similar experience? Does the device actually use 2% of
the battery when turning it on? I'm befuddled.

Do you usually drain the battery all way down after each use or close to it?
Got my tab yesterday. After charging I did some I would say normal usage, browsing, installing some apps, transfering data, watching video and a cam chat for about 2 hours on skype, standby over night.
I used balanced mode, auto brightness, external speaker on highest volume, sometimes superips (but not for long), always had the external sdcard mounted, always wifi on, gps on, autorotate on.
I had >14h without the dock, should have made a screenshot.
I will do a drain test when I charged the battery 4 or 5 times.

Also when the device is charged up to 80% disable everything, wifi, gps and so on.
Then suspend the device and do not turn it on for at least 1 hour.
I do it that way and get 100%.

Got my replacement yesterday. That was my first full charge. I allowed it to charge to 75% then turned it on (while still charging) and set it all up. I had the charger plugged in for 10 hours while playing around with it. Went to bed, turned it off and let it charge for another 4 hours. When I turned it off . I noticed it was only at a 97% charge.
I'm using it now to let it drain to zero. Then will do another full charge. I've only had it on for 90 minutes on balanced setting and the battery is already showing a 40% drain.
For those worried about the battery only being charged to 97-98%: it's normal, and a way to conserve your battery. Li-ion batteries don't like going to 100% full charge since it increases the temperature a lot and in the long term reduces their capacity. So the battery gets (very shortly) charged to 100% (or very close to it), then it will decrease slightly to high 90s and the charger will go into maintenance charging, keeping it close to 100% charge.
Some manufacturers "masquerade" this by setting the percentage to show 100% even if it really isn't. Keeps users from losing sleep over trivial things like that
The batteries don't like deep discharges either, so there's no use emptying them completely. Top them off whenever you can. Anywhere in between 40% and 80% is good.
TL;DR: Don't worry, the battery is fully charged even though it says 97 or 98%. Don't empty the battery completely.

Thanks for this, but there was some discussion with these studies already. But probably it's right not to do anything extreme.
That being said, we probably have to admit that there is a reason to DISCHARGE and CHARGE FULLY a few times - so that all the apps/widgets that measure battery capacity, estimate life etc. could learn all they can by more (and more exact) data.
