Hi I am tring to add a file to Roise.apk
...\Rosie.apk\res\values-iw
The new file is strings.xml
I recompiled it and i get Force Close evey Time
Can i give to some one thr original apk and the strings.xml
and he will recompile it for me without FC?

I decompiled all apk from the system/app/ folder of the original .zip of the ICS ROM I want to translate (MIUIv4 RD), I added in each of decomplation directory the correct values-*lang*/ folder, I recompliled everything (without any error, using a bit mooded version of apktool (else it fails)), I flashed every apk to my phone, but the new language won't appear in MIUI ICS menu. Is there any more file to edit so that it can use new languages values ?

hello again, this time I have a question and a problem, editing the framework of a rom-res cm7.2 to change the default wallpaper, use apktool and apkmanager to decompile and compile the file, enter the new zip, sign and flash the rom, it installs correctly, but when bootanimation appears after a few seconds the device freezes and restarts and so again and again (I think it is called bootloop), I do not know which tool to use to compile and decompile the apk and the rom starts without error, use apktool and apk manager but without any good result ... I'm doing something wrong? I hope someone can help me, I read other entries that talk about something like this and recommend apktool but I use to run, again thanks!

Use winrar den extract drawable-ldpi. Chnge default wallpaper. Den delete d drawable-ldpi in framework-res.apk and replace it wid ur modified drawable-ldpi. Apkmanager shd nly be used if v edit xml's or smali's

The same way you can add new values folders into the other apps like settings, phone etc. I used the same way for russian language. And it's pretty successful.
If you recompiled your apk right and added new values folder into res/ . Then after compiling you should open original .apk file via winzip (or some archiver) and put resources.arcs (which you get after compiluing) into this. I mean you should replace old resources.arcs by new. And you shoul do this without any compressing resources.arcs. If you'll try to compress it the phone will not boot.
I just added two new folders values-vi and values-vi-rVN from lg nexus 4 to your framework because I can't compile framework using your files.
Hello everybody i tried multi apktool to decompile apks but when i recompile those apps and try to install app on my phone its shows app not installed. Even when i don'T EDIT any file in the app. Please give me simple and best way to edit apk files.
