does anyone have any static clicking noise? for example b4 some sort of sound comes on u hear a little static click from phone, or right when about to call, u click call and a clicking static noise clicks once or twice then calls? everything runs perfect, but this noise annoys me so much? is there a fix for this or do i need something?
no idea what you are talking about :/ if you add ROM, device (Fuze, sprint touch pro, Touch pro Europe, etc.) and Radio (stock or not)
I'm guessing it's a radio problem but that's just my minor educated guess. Also when does this happen? phone call, sms, before ALL sounds?
i've tried many different radios same problem, usually occurs right b4 sounds occur, say i click on a contact ill hear this static click and etc
Not sure what you're asking, so please clarify. Also this doesn't belong in the rom development forum. I'm moving to the raphael general forum.
for example, when sounds are coming out right b4 they do, a static clicking sounds comes out of speaker. for example, i press call, right b4 the call starts i hear click then it begins dialing. the voice and talking is flawless but that clicking noise is just annoying me
I get the same sound on my Fuze. it is very annoying. I hear it before most sounds and if I enable event sounds I hear it on almost every screen touch. It sounds to me like the speaker is being "powered up" in some way. I think that it is also a cause of battery drain. Since I turned off the event sounds the battery lasts much longer.
One other thing that I noticed is that back of my device near the speaker would get hot when I heard this sound a lot.
I am using NATF 2.3 ROM but it happened with 2.2 also. I have not changed the radio.
IF anyone has any advice I would appreciate it, as the first posted stated, it is annoying.

I had similar issues with my phone a while ago. I took it back to the ATT store and they said not to worry about it, unless it got worse. I've since completely reset my phone and started from scratch and it doesn't do it any more. I used to get it alot with opening and closing the keyboard, but also with screen touches too. But, knock on wood, it's not happened since I reset my phone.
yes, chris thats exactly it... let me try event sounds and see if i have same issue there.
cant remember but i dont think i had it in romeos 1.4 and difinately did not have it when i first started flashing or the stock rom that came with it... not sure if its something now in these new roms. i just dont want to flash my phone right now bc i have it set up the perfect way for me, as its fast. responsive..... but if its last resort i will go back to romeos 1.4 to experiment it out

I've been hearing this sort of noise myself, and I have the AT&T stock Rom on my Fuze. I hope it's not another bug with the phone, for I can not return mine (past 30 days & phone return limit). It's not that bad so I ignore it. I only hear it before it rings, not during my calls so it's ok.
Please go to Start, Settings, Personal, Sounds and Notifications and disable screen taps!

lol its a little more complex than that.... it seems like the speaker has to turn on or sumtin, its weird. like states in a previous comment, its right b4 any sound occurs, but during calls etc it is perfect.
Yep, I had that noise on both my original and replacement Fuze's.
Sounds like GSM buzz on the speaker - like when you have your phone next to a T.V. and you get a call or text.
I had this noise on the first fuze I got, 2nd and 3rd did not have it.
It sounds to me like the sound chip is in 'deep sleep' mode, and when the wake event is triggered, some voltage is getting passed on to the speaker, hence the short 'click' noise, which only occurs at the start of audio streams (the sound chip goes back into sleep mode shortly after playing the sound, which is why you again hear a click later)
If you don't hear any clicking in a steady stream of sound (like playing an mp3) this is pretty likely to be the cause.
is there any fix for this or anything we can do to avoid the clicking? its just an annoying sound even though im starting to get sued to it still frustrating lol
Fix Please?!?1
yes i need a fix please this is annoying... i might go back to the g1 if i cant find a fix
i think i have narrowed the problem down, im going to reflash my phone and will post an update in the next 20-30 minutes
Any updates on this? I get it constantly (before calls and other alerts, just before playing a song, when playing Teeter...)
Has done it on the original 3 (au) firmware, the 2nd update of the 3 (au) firmware, Elite RC2 and ROMeOS 1.5x and 1.7x.
Never gone away
UPDATE:
if u are having this issue, please call your cell phone company, and ask for a trade... its a sign of speaker going bad... i got new one and problem is fixed.
hi noob here and just wanted to throw this out there.
I haven't got s-Off yet, but looking forward to installing custom roms when I can. I have a few things That can be improved as htc have missed them. So hopefully those guys into making changes come across this and make the changes.
Music widget: Doesn't update album art with currently playing song until you stop on the widget and allow it to update, can this be made instantaneous ? Also, multiple album art within album list is a bit much, I think a standard list with track time would b much better.
Message tone: cannot be changed without a third party app, also when on a call of the tone is longer than 1-2
seconds it will play in your ear for the full duration with no way to stop it, and you cannot hear the caller either. When there are headphone's attached, notification tones play through the loudspeaker, when all sound should be diverted to headphones.
Bluetooth: I use wireless headphones, I'm having quality issues when I move away from the handset, it seems htc have crippled the wireless features when it comes to this version of software. Also is there anyway to get the sound enhancer to work with bluetooth headphones?
Files: Cannot access sd card from the phone to see all files, have to connect to pc.
Call history: All calls incoming, received and missed show up multiple times for same contact. Then you also have the history button to the right of the contact which then shows all details incoming, outgoing, missed, time stamps, date. Can this be changed to just one icon per caller/contact. (hope this one made sense, was a bit hard to explain with out being confusing)
Well this is all that I have noticed so far and hope that it wont be too much trouble to change, would love to see the phone as its supposed to be, even if htc seem to have no idea right now, I would seriously love to slap there design team. especially for the WiFi issues they are really bad with my device, so pissed after getting rid of the motorola milestone 2 which was an epic fail, and now htc also has bugs!
Has anyone else noticed anything that could be changed for the better??? Add it here and lets see if the developers can change it all to have an awesome handset!
Fabz...
Hi. I have the inspire. Its rooted and has the new 2.3.3 rom. My problem is that when i try to listen to music it skips, changes songs, opens voice dialer and then on one instance it called someone. I reinstalled the rom, restarted the phone, but it still persists. I have an idea it might have something to do with the headphones being inserted. When it was doing this i took out the headphones and plugged them back in and it played music just fine for a few minutes. any ideas?
EDIT
I just noticed right now that the icon changes from headset to headphones. Right now im listening to it and it playing just fine as long as the icon is set to headphone.
Edit 2:
Well i found this "Hey. I'm dealing with an annoying behavior, and I'm not sure if it's by design, or if there's something wrong with my phone.
When I plug in headphones... everything goes wonky. Specifically, the phone seems to take feedback from any pressure (usually accidental) I apply to the headphone cable. If I push it one way, it goes into voice command mode. If I push it another, it redials the last call I made. And other such along these lines. Why is it doing this? Is it by design, or is there something wrong with my device? How do I make it stop? Every time I jostle the phone while trying to listen to music, I have the phone annoying redialing my last call, going to voice mode, or otherwise interrupting what I'm doing.
I got the feeling, from one of the apps I was playing with, that this may be something called "headset commands," but I haven't been able to find anything else about that. "
Its a diffrent phone but same issue. I tried wiggling my headphone jack around a bit and found that the icon changed to headset. So ill leave this thread here for anyone having the same issues, as i couldnt find anything for this issue with the inspire forum.
I had the same problem on CM7, turns out the phone was recognizing my headphones as a bluetooth headset with built in controls, and it was confused thinking it was getting signals to skip around and change songs. I fixed it by installing a widget called Headset Blocker from the Android market, once I enable it everything works well.
Thanks! now my world is ok.
I was listening to audio on my Skyrocket in my car when I noticed the track I was listening to sounded off. I was listening to this song:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-DuC0tE7V4 (Lollipop by The Chordettes. yeah yeah, wtf? I had Lollipop Chainsaw on my mind for some reason at the moment..)
I noticed that the right speaker wasn't really coming through, or at least not completely. I don't know if this is isolated to my phone or if this is a CM10 issue. To double check this, I listened to this track via bluetooth to my cars' speakers, direct audio input, and also just listening on the phone itself and each time I couldn't hear the "far" right side of the track. I also tried this track as well and found the same issue (Dude Looks Like A Lady by Aerosmith)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nf0oXY4nDxE
Anyone familiar with either of these songs will immediately recognize that something doesn't sound right (no pun intended). If you're not familiar, listen on your computer with some headphones and if you're experiencing the same thing as me then you'll notice it.
Is anyone else experiencing this or do I have a faulty install/phone on my hands? Sadly the warranty just expired, so I'm hoping it's not my phone, but I don't want to go and change my ROM unless I absolutely have to.
Sorry for the bump, but can someone please help me with this? This takes not even 30 seconds to test. You don't have to listen to both songs for more than 10 seconds each to realize if you're getting real stereo sound (minus the time you potentially get hit with the stupid YouTube ads.)
This is a cross post from the thread I found on reddit, I take no credit for this find.
The problem for this person was "I purchased some Beyedynamic DT990 Pros (low impedance ersion; 32ohm) and there is some issue with the jack. It seems to trigger the button of me pressing the microphone button, with minimal movement. It either brings up voice command or just pauses the music, even if I just turn off the screen. If I try to increase the volume it also brings up the voice command sometimes.
Just moving the phone slowly causes the music to stop (if it doesnt already when turning the screen off.
Anyone have any solutions to this? These are good headphones, they work with my pc perfectly. I will test with my ipod aswell.
I was thinking of getting a female to male jack just to see if a different connector works. But these are audiophile headphones so the quality isn't really questionable."
and the solution was
"Download the app SoundAbout. It lets you force your phone to detect the headphones correctly. My G3 was doing the exact same thing and ever since I downloaded SoundAbout around a week or so ago everything has been working fine." "What I do is put the headphones into the jack, but not all the way until it clicks in. Just put it in enough to where the phone senses them. If the phone senses them as a headset, remove the headphones (not necessary to take them completely out, just off of the sensor inside the headphone jack) and try again. Once it detects them as regular headphones you can click them in like normal."
Sorry for the poor formatting, and unable to link the reddit thread because my account lacks posts but I found this extremely helpful and hope everyone with this issue does too.

Thread is LG G3 can't deal with proper headphones-
Thanks man this solution was a breath of fresh air! Only issue is I still get pops between songs, if you don't can you please tell me which settings you're using? One more thing, you'd help alot of people if you were to share it in the non-AT&T LG G3 sub-forum... Specifically, this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/help/aux-cable-problem-t2802719. If you could post there or make a new thread that would be amazing... Thanks again man.

The settings I use is the default ones, but I heard setting Media Audio to "Wired Speakers" fixes the issue too, however it disables you from playing music out of your phone speakers so what I do is. Set Media Audio on "Let App Decide" then created a widget on my homescreen for SoundAbout and just toggle it on before I plug in headphones.
Hopefully LG will fix it sooner or later. Kinda lame to have to use an extra app for something that should just work. That's why those apple guys make fun of us android guys. Thanks for the tip.
