Is there a way to clean it up a bit, I hate thumbing thru page after page of apps, basically id like to create folders within the drawer, if its possible.

There are plenty of home screen launchers for our phones which have
exactly what you were writing about including folders.
Go to the androidzoom market and search for "launcher" you will see a lot of them and most of them are free. Most have the features you are looking for so its best to download 5-6 of them to find out which you like best.
Good luck,
have a great day.
Cool, ill check it out but can anyone recommended any particular launcher?

The first two to check out is the ADW Launcher and the other is Go Launcher.
Those seem to be very popular.
Check it out,
Have a great evening!

Go launcher lets you make folders within the App Drawer. Just drag an icon on top of another one and it will make a folder with them in it. Long press to get into edit mode to rename the folder. It's great.

I actually like this thanks
My favorite so far....
any screen shot?
is this the same as the included one in CM6? it doesn't let me install it as they have the same app name.
edit: I removed the ADW launcher and installed this, but it crashes if I try to use it.
Nice thanks

One of the best music apk available for Android.
How to:
Install as a normal apk using a file manager
Source

please be more clear about how to install cause i put in system/app but nothing happened and i cant find it in launcher
Sent from my X10i using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
Put it on your SD Card and browse to it using Astro or any other file manager
Just like you would install any other app
When you put it in system/app you need to change Permissions (like the other Apps in the Folder have) and then Reboot then it should be installed.
This app is ok, there are better out there but if your only a casual user of your phone for music it does everything you want to and it looks pretty good to

after the app kicked out of memory, doesn't matter how am I trying to run it, it always FC
it only work if I uninstall it with pm or TB, reboot and install then. but after it kicked out of mem it's throwin' FCs at me
Can anybody confirm this too? I want this so bad
EDIT: logcat attached
it's tellin' something about missing URI and media provider...
I think the problem is really with the media provider service, so I used Rescan Media Root from Market and now all is fine. However, I prefer the purple one from source

For all you TouchWiz Launcher fans, XDA member’s Fr4gg0r & Swiftwork have developed a modified version that works with “Every device with armv7 processor and froyo or higher.“ Some of the great features included in this modified version of TW include:
App Drawer
Number of apps per page
Number of app columns
Sort order (normal/alphabetical, alphabetical will be forced after reboot/changing from normal to alphabetical)
Enable/disable app backdrops
Enable/disable 3D effect for backdrops
Badge Counter
enable/disable unread g-mail counter (specify accounts to show counter for)
enable/disable unread sms counter or Samsung Counter
Themes
You can combine themes (e.g. a full theme and then apply just a dock theme)
EXTRA Stuff:
Resizing for all widgets enabled (long press widget and then drop it without moving)
Scrolling widgets are supported (currently not recommended to use though, lags when scrolling)
To find out about the other great features included in this mod, visit the original thread.

Yes but the icons u see are folders that has the app short cuts. If i do what you say it will work for the app short cuts in the folder bit the name of the folder is still there. I made icons to try to clean it up a lil rather haveing a folder seeing all the app icons.

Did you try just deleting the folder name and saving? What about a space?
Just some thoughts.

Try a different launcher. I have Go Launcher, and it has an option not to show app/widget names on home screen.

@OP: I too use folder organizer. And the option in GoLauncher helps hide the labels of even these.
I am looking for apps/widgets, which show pending notification count of emails/phone calls/sms/gmail etc... I couldnt find one in market which does all these.
That's probably going to be a launcher thing. I use Nova launcher ... It has the count post attached to the corresponding app.See screen shot below .. Notice the email count badge attached.

You could make your own with uccw if you like customizing here's a link to a how to the last video he gives you his completed uccw notification skin as a .uzip .all you have to do is get uccw from the play store and it will create a directory for saves use a file explore and navigate to it paste the uzip. Missed It (search play store) works really well. by itself it can monitor any app you want and display on a widget but you can pair it up with nova launch pro and display the number on the icon for any app as well.
