i recently noticed that my sd card is near full. ive tried to erase backup roms through rom manager, delete pictures/videos, uninstall apps, anything to try to regain memory on my sd card but each time it will erase or unistall only to be put back on. anyone have this problem? ive even mounted to my computer and erased it there and still does not come off. ive only just recently ran into this problem.
is it possible to just replace the sd card or will i run into problems since basically i move everything to my sd?
any help is appreciated and thanks in advance!
You can replace your SD card with no problems just back up everything you need. Also you could try formatting that SD card make sure you format as fat32

if i format this card will it just erase everything on it? im still very new to all this and was under the impression that when i do a back up it goes to the sd card.
Ok your best bet is to trasnfer everything you need off the card to your computer. Then format the card make sure its fat32. Formatting will erase all data so back up your music pics and anything else on your computer. And before you ask u will not lose root if your rooted the goldcard is only needed for the initial root so don't worry about that. If u need any further help feel free to pm me

Often times a damaged sd card can be repaired by formatting in another device such as an external card reader, camera, or other phone however as noted all data will be lost. You could attempt to clone the disk using WinHex, saving the data to a file, reformatting the card and then attempt to retrieve the data manually.
PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah, but it is not working. I tried to reformat/wipe it on my pc, but then it says something like the card timedout.
then i tried to format it on his and my nexus one, but it is not working. it says that the card is blank. Maybe it is but i am still seeing the contents when i look at it on my computer.
oh yeah, i could see everything on my pc, but when i try copying over the data it says 'path is too deep'
i also tryied to partition it using cwm and amon ra, but no luck.
anything else.....i should try?
Do you have Swapper for Root or anything similar? That is probably the cause.

I treied almost everything that i could remember. I formated my card in computer,no luck i tried with diffrent sd card,no luck. I tried with adb command, fastboot oem enableqxdm 0,it says ok but still can mount, tried with fastboot eom eraseconfig but i culdnt execute that command, some error dont now which one...oo tried that all while i had rooted inspire. All my card works fine in diffrent phone but not in mine, please help,i am going crazy. I cant take photos, listen music, almost nothing
Other than something being stuck in the adapter I would say the reader needs to be replaced. Probably not what you want to hear.

I had this happen to me after downloading around 285 apps. I had most of my apps stored on the sd card once downloaded and had no problems; then all of a sudden after rebooting the Inspire would not recognize the sd card or unmount. I tried almost everything until I came across a post regarding the amount of apps stored on the sd card. The only solution (bear with me while I try to explain this) was to transfer most of the apps back to phone until I got the amount of files stored in the asec folder under the total amount of internal memory available on the phone; which for me was 1.14GB. I haven't had the problem since and now the app icons show up on my home screen without several reboots and my card can finally be unmounted. Hope that helps.
Any fix? I have same problem
Hello everyone. I recently underwent a forced upgrade to an LG Optimus F3 after my Kyocera Rise almost started a house fire. I am trying to get all my apps on the thing and everything has gone smoothly. However when I tried to install FIFA 14, which is a large app, I receive an error message.
i imgur com/xhlUueG.png
This is baffling, since I have over 25 GB of space remaining on the card.

Any advice on how to resolve this problem would be appreciated.
Things that may be ****ing stuff up:
-I literally took the SD card straight from the other phone and put it in this one.
-I have been installing a lot of stuff today.
-I don't really know what else.
Do you have Lucky Patcher installed on you're phone..?
If you do, stop it from running and wipe LP cache... And try again...

No, I do not. Would you recommend I install it?
I thought the problem might be coming from the fact that the SD card was used in another phone. So I used the Erase all Data option in Settings > Storage, but the problem persists.
Can anyone help, or do you need more info?
Maybe I need to format the card another way?
And pardon the double post, but here's another screenshot, this time of ES File Explorer.

Is it normal for there to be two directories there?

I could really use some help figuring this out. I used Aparted to delete the partition and create a new one but still no change. Is there anywhere else or some other subforum where I should be posting this, or is there a way for me to figure this out on my own?
Does your phone detects your SD card or are you able to move apps to SD card???

Well, it shows my SD cards under Settings > Storage, but I'm not seeing an option to move apps to SD on the app menus.
I also hard reset my device, but apparently the problem still persists. When I get home imma try the other SD card and see if there's a change.
No change with the other SD card, so it must be a phone error. Any ideas?

Is your phone currently rooted??? And Aparted is an awesome software. your not using the android app to partition the sd when a pc should be used to partition the sd with a micro reader???

Yes, I just rooted my phone. However, the problem persists, and I still don't have the option to move apps to SD card. I'm not sure what you're getting at in the second sentence though, sorry.
Okay what I mean by the second sentence is that Aparted is available for pc and as apk for android, which one did you use??? And when you partitioned the sd card what format did you use NTFS, FAT32, FAT16 etc.... and also did you wipe the sd prior to formatting it???

I used the android one, a fat32 format, and yes.
Okay, basically what I think is going on is that my phone just doesn't support apps on SD card. Something about the way my filesystem emulates an SD card or something, so it's not a capability I can just unlock from the phone. Anyway, I've been able to sort of work around the problem by using link2SD with an aparted partition, which looks like it's working perfectly, as far as it goes. If anyone else runs into a problem like this and finds a better solution please let me know!
Thanks for all the suggestions.
Awesome, and link2sd is one of best app2sd apks available....cheers man

Hello, why have google removed the ability to move data to ext (micro sd card)? This was all good when you wanted to back up everything to install a new rom using titanium backup but using folder mount just doesn't feel right will they ever bring this back? I never had problems with it that way, if i have big games you know they're getting bigger all the time, i could just have the data on the sd card but now we can't it was easy to back everything up as the data was already on the sd card so if i got a new phone i could just put the sd card in the new phone and all the data is still there and wouldn't have to worry about storage, is there anything i can do to have more storage without having to partition the sd card or anything like that something simple so that people who don't want to root their phones can do it to, i know you need root for titatium but thats okay

Root n Swap.. And no more options available for now..
Thanks, do you think they will bring the option of saving data to ext sd back, like in the old android versions?

a couple days back I was copying all my songs from my phone's sd card to my pc. while copying something glitched out and my whole sd card and the folder i was copying to got corrupted so I had to say bye bye to all my data and start fresh (I tried using recuva, but the recovered files were still corrupted). I then was unable to do anything on my phone without it hanging for a few minutes so i decided to do a factory reset. now, my problem is that when I insert my sd card, and try to do something with my internal storage, it says internal memory not formatted, please try again, but when I remove my sd card, my internal memory works just fine. I have absolutely no Idea whats wrong. please help me fix this issue. also my phone was rooted before I did a factory reset.
