Any stable GB roms? - Thunderbolt General

I once had a rooted Tb but when the first update came out it was unrooted. Now I am debating whether to root again. So are there any stable GB roms that won't brick my phone?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App

I thought das bamf was on top. I uprooted for a min as well. Waiting on my newest thunderbolt before I go back in. What happened to das bamf all over the board?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App

Some words were traded back and forth so Das BAMF pulled the plug on XDA. They can be found at teambamf.net

Is das bamf the best one out there?

Opinions vary. Synergy, BAMF, Gingeritis 3d Beta VI (what I'm running), Th3ory's ROMS - all good. However, somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but only Synergy and Gingeritits currently have anything based on the new GB leak.
Chingy and Bamf can be found elsewhere. A quick google search will allow you to find their roms.

Just a quick note...Th3ory is using the new leak for his ROMs.

Are you looking for sense based roms or stock android? I see nothing wrong with CM7.

^ This. It's definitely my favorite of all the GB based roms.

I like sense but I am open to stock Android

Synergy seems to have the least amount of problems(next to Das BAMF).
and just tell that CM7 fellow to bugger off!

Gingeritis 3d beta 6 with chingys new radio leak. Rock solid. Super fast. And killer batt life. I switched from bamf, and never looked back.

I flip flop back and forth between bamf and synergy a lot but so far synergy has seemed to be the best with stability/battery life.

so the bricking problem has been resolved?

Yea man, you'd have to really do something wring to brick your phone

Yea, chingy is behind the new gb base and radio leak, and he's working on synergy as well as his gingeritis roms, they are both pretty rock solid. That new gb base and radio along with ziggys kernel is like the perfect trifecta for my tbolt.
Sent from my TBolt using my f***king thumbs...

what radio do you need for synergy?

Mr2 at least, I would recommend the new chingy leak though
Sent from my TBolt using my f***king thumbs...

I've about tried them all. Most stable is BAMF 3D 4.9. Fastest is Chingys 3D beta 6.

there is no best rom out there because what 1 person may like the other person may not ya digg
so my advice to you would be just try them all till you find 1 you like
Here comes 20 posts about cm7 >_>...
Thanks for the info I do understand that and I guess I'm looking for other combo's Rom and kern. That work well together. But I will try others.

I think I may have opened a can of worms. I did read about cm7 and see pros and cons. I have been looking at leedroid's Rom. Mudknot I would like to thank you for your guide very nice. Do you have any recommendation's?
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA Premium App
As doo doo said and I have said in other threads, there is no "BEST" rom. They all are good in their own right, and all of them have their downfalls some more then others.
I have flashed all of them, and I like some more then others. Honestly its all personal preference.
Leedroid for stability and battery with all the features working. CM 7 for the stock feeling but has terrible drain TERRIBLE
I like the sense ones.
However I almost always return to a stock. The best to me are stock with all the bloat ripped out. There is no need to OC yet as the phone is plenty fast. Maybe in 4 or 5 months. /Shrug
I've been using RCmixHD for quite some time and I love it. They just realeased a new rom with SENSE 3.0 and it's beautiful. This latest rom is quite new and there are some improvements that I know will come with some time.
As everybody here will tell you, you will need to experiment and make your own decision on which is best for you.
Stock and Inpired Ace for me.
I am loving team phoenix's new rom. Takes the best of cm 7, + lord mods smartass kernel and makes a very smooth and battery efficient offering.

I really like RCMix Kingdom ROM. It is a work in progress, but sense 3.0 is pretty sweet in my opinion. But like others have said, it all comes down to your own personal preferences. Have fun with it and just go flash crazy lol
I'm loving konikubs elite 3 and kings cocoa 2.

I'm liking Android Revolution right now, but I'm just getting into this whole thing of flashing and what not. I had CoreDroid before, but just found it a bit too complex/too many options for now. Android Revolution to me seems somewhat like stock, but just better optimized. But I plan on trying some other ROMs out there, looking at some of the RCMixes and maybe LeeDroid's

charge developing question

i havennt seen any developing since eph1 is there something wrong with the rom that cant be modified just wondering?
Sent from my GtabComb using XDA Premium App
Its probably because there are almost no differences between epf1 just different radios
Correct. There aren't enough differences between EP1F and EP1H to justify a revamp. This, combined with many bugs on Gingerbread that isn't fully baked, makes for very slow go on GB development.

Currently have Vibrant. How is your dev coming on GS4G?

hey all. I currently have a Vibrant, but I may have the option to move to a galaxy S 4g. We have great development on the Vibrant. I know for a while the development on GS4G was really slow, but how is it now? has it picked up? do you guys have official GB, or at least leaks of official GB? how are you custom froyo roms?
Thanks guys,
just would really like to know this before I make the move
You could also check out our development forum. There doesn't seem to be any shortage of development for the SGS4G, and there are GB leaks. I am not sure if we actually have official GB though.

Oh development has really picked up. Flash a rom one day and a brand new one comes out the next. As for gingerbread, we don't have an official yet but the leaks are perfectly fine especially when turned into a rom. Much better than the froyo roms.

I gotta agree with everyone else here. One thing to keep in mind is that flashing with the SGS4G is different than flashing with the Vibrant.
Still slow, most roms are leaks. That said, gb touch wiz isn't that horrible, haha.
When cm7 starts rolling I suspect development will pick up rapidly. Crossing my fingers for miui.

Kind of missing 2.2 roms :(

Why are current 2.3.5 i9000 roms better then 2.2? I loved having serendipity 6.4 and Firefly 3.0 on my cappy. I cant remember if the battery life was better then the i9000 roms. Id use the current 2.3.5 leaked roms for the cappy but they do not support BLN and I need that.
Im on andromeda right now. I've flashed tons of gb roms but andromeda3 still seems to be the best all around for me. (Personal opinion of course )

+1. Its my current daily driver as well. It just seems to be one of the last well supported 2.2 based Roms. It really is nice.
You guys should really try CyanogenMod 7, it's probably the smoothest experience for the Captivate yet.

most stable rom.

hey all, looking to flash the most stable rom for the inspire out there! anyone wanna give me a few good stable roms?
Anything gingerbread is rock solid. ClearDroid and Virtuous Unity are my favorite for Sense and Gingerbeast and Absolution rock if you want to be senseless. The ICS roms are stable enough for daily use but might have small issues that keep them from being the right choice for you. Personally, I love Redemption but there are others that have more active development. I haz not tried jellybean but I would guess that is the same or worse when compared to ICS. You will have to try some out and see what works best for you.

Anything based on stock will be the most stable. 2.47.502.7 and 3.20.502.52. Att just released the last base with sense 3.0. I'm on blackout Ics right now and really am enjoying it. It is sense and Ics. But as always try them out and see what you like. No single rom is for everyone.
The one you find stable when you try them out. Anything else is strictly opinion and these threads are not allowed

Not necessarily, his phone is the same model, but they aren't the same exact device. Also, that isn't necessarily true, at&t's last update was completely broken and unstable. Any rom in the section was made to work with our phone and can run it just as good as an at&t built rom. Most times better.

I agree that 2.47.502.7 was buggy and I did not like it even when devs re cooked it. As for the last update 3.20.502.52 or even the original Rom they ran flawlessly. And to use roms with these bases was really all I was saying to him. Just stick to roms built off of these for the most stable experience. I've spent quite amount of time unrooted and also running every Rom you could possibly flash on this device and when I am on an actual inspire base every part of the phone runs the way it should ( with the exception of 2.47.502.7). I think we agree, I just meant roms based off stock, not necessarily stock itself.
As for what Rom to run that differs all together. I'm on an Ics sense Rom that was never intended for our device but I'm willing to live with a little instability for more options and Ics

Stable roms = Gingerbread
Small issue roms = ICS and JellyBean
Is all you need to know. We can use DHD roms on our Inspires if you want to take look at that forum as well.
You will have to test a rom out for yourself cause what may be awesome to one person may be utter crap to others its yp to your preference.

Yes I agree. Gingerbread is most stable. Some dhd base though have minor issues like agps not updating accurately, scanner apps not reading barcodes, battery drain, intermittent WiFi/data issues, Sound problems.. etc. Nothing major though. My favorite dhd base was the sense 3.0 update they got. Runs the smoothest imo. Sense 3.5 and up gets a little clunky.

As stated before, Gingerbread ROMs are generally more stable than ICS ROMs. That said, my favorite is Primo-S v3.5. Its ICS + Sense 4.0A. Its not the most stable mod out there, but extremely stable, enough t be used as a daily driver. The most stable I've tried is of course Cyanogenmod 7. Second is Android Revolution HD.
