Is anyone else having problems with wallpaper on Launcher Pro? Using the default launcher, the wallpaper scales down to the size I set. Launcher Pro keeps it HUGE and cannot be adjusted no matter what the resolution is.
Am I doing something wrong?
I have the same problem, it happens basically with any launcher that is non stock. theres apps that can fix the problem, but seems like a quirk that we're stuck with

So I was having the same problem and figured out what causes it, and a way to generally avoid it.
what seems to be causing it: Allowing home screen rotation. It appears that as soon as you rotate, Launcher pro resizes the wp to that pixelated mess, and will not revert it back once returning to portrait. I've had it happen also while going to the home screen while having the browser in landscape
to prevent: from home screen click menu / preferences / behavior settings / -> and make sure "enable auto rotation" is unchecked. (don't worry you can still rotate in apps by activating the rotation setting in the notification bar, unchecking that box just prevents the home screen rotation)
to fix your current messed up wallpaper: click menu / settings / applications / manage applications / -> click launcher pro / click clear defaults.
this will allow you to activate touchwiz again. So hit the home screen button and select TW to complete that action. after it's done try setting your wp again. Go ahead and reset launcher pro as your default now and your wp should still look good. You should now be able to crop new wp's and have them look fine too.
you shouldnt have to do this again
all set!
That did the trick. Thanks!
I tried that but it didn't work on my evo 3d
there is another work around
open the pic you want to use
rotate your phone to landscape mode
set your wallpaper using the landscape square, not the narrow one. Let it finish.
rotate your phone back to normal
your WP should now not be that pixelated mess

I just had a quick question in regards to screen rotation on the Transformer and wanted to see if everyone else is having the same result.
On my home screen I have both icons and widgets. When I rotate the tablet to go from landscape to portrait, or vice versa, it successfully changes the screen orientation; however, it causes the icons to take a second to reload and the widgets take a bit longer, almost as if they have to "boot up" again. Is this normal for Honeycomb and is everyone else seeing this happen?
The widgets I have that I am referring to in particular are the gmail and mail widgets, alongside the calendar widget.
I am un-rooted and running stock honeycomb with no custom launchers or anything. I just wanted to see if this was normal behavior, or something that only I am experiencing. Thanks.
Yep, it's normal. Mine does it also.
Hi,
Just got HTC One X today and immediately updated to JB. After installing my apps and setting it up, I noticed that certain widgets would disappear from my home screen (Nova Launcher) and from lock screen (WidgetLocker). Only certain widgets - Battery Widget Reborn, Power Toggles, Smooth Calendar. After a reboot, they show up as grey boxes and I would have to tap and setup the widget again. Also noticed that SwiftKey would no longer be set as default keyboard and I would have to disable/re-enable to be able to choose it again.
Messed around and it's the same behavior with the stock launcher but with that, they the widgets just disappear altogether.
I did a system erase and pretty much nothing installed, same behavior. I've played with every setting to see if that had an effect but no different.
Has anyone encountered this or have any ideas on what's going on?
Thanks in advance.
Jeff
Self explanatory.
If I've missed a call, it shows on my AoD (which is good). But even when I clear the notification and/or go to my call log and clear the counter within the launcher itself, it still shows on the AoD. Only a system restart seems to clear it.
Everything is stock on my S7.

Didn't have that problem myself but mine just doesn't work at all. Could yours have something to do with the dialer?

Quite possible, but not sure how. I use Nova Launcher and everything else is stock.

For what it's worth I'm also using Nova launcher and seeing the same issue on a new GS7.
Drives me nuts!
Doesn't it go away after going on your call logs area, or does it require a reboot?
I cant remember what I did

I've had the same issue using Nova Launcher with a Galaxy S7 Edge. It turns out it's just a conflict between the launcher and TouchWiz itself, if you go to Settings > Applications > Default Applications > Home and change it from Nova back to TouchWiz, give it a chance to load up and everything, tap on the dialler to clear the little number that appears over the icon, wait for that number to disappear then make Nova your default home launcher again and hey presto the little notification on the always-on display will be gone.

Thank you also had the same issue with my Galaxy S7 Edge with Nova Launcher ( Paid Version ). Worked exactly like you said
- Go to Settings -> Applications -> Default
- There select HOME and change it from Nova Launcher to TouchWiz.
- Check your default caller app ( that green one that comes with samsung ), delete all logs for safety
- Go back to Home as described above and change back to Nova Launcher
Thanks for Asauz!!! was driving me nuts this issue
Hey all. Gosh I feel like an idiot for posting but cant for the life of me figure this super basic thing out.
Im on a S7 Edge, using Nova Launcher, and the Goodluck UI. Wanted to mention all that as I think that is why Im having so much trouble. No matter what app, or setting on the phone, it makes the wallpaper the same for both the lock scree and desktop. Can someone tell me what steps work with the configuration I have
Thanks!
Usually you would use the wallpaper setting in Android itself and tell it to set the Homescreen/Lock screen separately using the dropdown at the top of the wallpaper choice screen, but iirc, Good lock has its own wallpaper setting, I don't use it so not sure where it is, but I'd have a look in Good lock settings to start
You can set the home screen however you want, but the lock screen has to be done a specific way. Go into the stock Gallery app, find the pic you want to use then hit "More" in the upper right corner. Then "Set as wallpaper" and choose which you want to set it for, home screen, lock screen, or both.
It's annoying to have to use the Gallery app as it has no way to filter out unwanted folders like all my music folders with album art, but it is the only way I've found so far to set different lock screen and home screen wallpapers.
Issue:
With Android 10 gestures enabled and using a third-party (non-LG) home screen launcher, swiping up to go Home causes a flicker showing the app being closed at the end of the close animation.
Environment:
LG V50 Sprint Unlocked (LM-V450PM)
Microsoft Launcher
Detail:
This is a rather minor issue, I know, but after upgrading to Android Q yesterday, I was excited to finally use native gestures as previously I was using a third-party app (Fluid NG). Most animations are very smooth.
When using the default LG Home Screen, the swipe up to Home animation is nice and fluid. For example, closing an app which is on the Home screen has the app screen collapse and spring into the icon.
However I prefer using a more productive launcher--the animation seems to glitch momentarily before going to Home. The app screen collapses into the background, but then briefly flickers and shows the full app screen before showing the home screen. This happens on all apps, including Settings and from the launcher settings itself.
Reverting back to standard buttons (or gesture + buttons) does not have this problem.
Things I have tried which didn't work:
Rebooting
Disabling and uninstalling Fluid NG
Using a different, non-LG launcher (Microsoft, Nova)
Disabling Developer mode (have .5x on all animations)
Disabling all animations (window, transition, animator duration) within Developer mode
Swiping slower or at an angle (animation changes but behavior persists)
Anything else I could try, or is this problem inherent to LG's UX?
