[REQ][MOD] Notification pulldown menu Ring/Silent/Vibrate button - Verizon Droid Charge

Is it possible to change one of the notification pulldown control buttons to be Ring/Silent/Vibrate button?
Or perhaps just add that two the menu, so we'd have six buttons.
Just came to me: how about the data button to be CDMA/LTE toggle?
This would make my phone complete.

It's possible to add silent/vibrate toggle..the code is already there and sbrissen did it on gb comrom on the fascinate...beyond that it would be extremely difficult to add other goggles.as.they would have to be built.from the ground up

Then here's me wishing that the devs use that mod or make patches for it...

(Q) Status bar

There has to be a way to hide the status bar. obviously in numerous diff launchers, there is the option to swipe up or down to hide/bring back your noti bar. the noti bar lies within the systemUI.apk (or so i can tell via switching themes). anyone know how to edit the xml that allows for hiding the noti bar? it looks sick when i adb push the systemui.apk and it dissappears. Help!
the statusbar has the home, back, menu keys built in; its probably a bad idea to hide it
I was thinking about this also. It would be nice for apps to go true fullscreen and overlap the status bar. Maybe its an app issue but Remote RDP Lite makes it awkard as when I set the resolution to 1280x800 the bottom part actually gets covered by the status bar.
I suppose I can set it to be like 1280x750 or something...

I'd like the option to hide it whenever.

this would likely require use of a hardware button, since I dont think android CAN support gestures that work over all apps, and I cant think of any other input method you could use
edit: wouldnt be a bad use of the power button since the battery is good enough without it needing to sleep and the lockscreen is sort of pointless because its not in your pocket. Maybe a popup menu on the power button like on phones?
I'd like the ability to move the status bar to the top. This would make it easier to access when I'm holding it with my left hand and resting it on my legs. Right now, if I move my left hand to hit back or home, I then need to grab my xoom with my right hand to keep it steady.
One option would be to use the up down volume keys to move the status bar up or down. Volume could be handled more easily from the notification tray, it isn't as necessary as on a phone to have an alway accessible volume button.

How to Change Launcher Icons

Is there a way to change the 4th default launcher icons without using a 3rd party app?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
As far as I know you can only change the first three..
Use a better launcher, or just deal with how much the TW launcher sucks.
you need some way to get into your app drawer
Stupid autocomplete, I meant the 4 icons in the launch bar. Where are the settings to change them?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
ok so you dont know how to change any of them? the 4th one is permanant so you can get to the app drawer. the other 3 can be changed by
open app drawer>press menu>a)if you see an option that says edit select edit, b) if not go to next step >press view type> select customizable grid> press menu> select edit> move icons as you like including the dock icons> press menu> press save> now if you wish you can change the view type back to the one you prefer with the app drawer open by hittin menu> view type.
Thanks. I figured they buried the option somewhere I just couldn't find it.

there are a lot of things hidden on this phone. there is a big list of hints and tips somewhere for the captivate that will tell you how to do many things. two usefull tricks are..
1 if you turn the auto brightness of the screen off you can set the brightness by holding a finger on the notification bar for about 2-3 seconds until the pulldown goes away, you can slide left to right to get the desired brightness, i used to use the power control widget and wondered why samsung didnt put a brightness toggle in the pulldown untill i discovered this, now my home screen has one less widget.
2 on the swype keyboard you can access a directional pad by swyping from swype help key (blue "S" with a little "i" over it) to the key that says "sym" on the captivate the samsung keyboard also had a d-pad by long holding the "?123" key but they took it out in 2.2
between those things (especially the d-pad) the phone is more enjoyable
Thanks Dani897. Little things like this help so much.

Volumer slider in status/notification bar

Hi,
I am currently using HFS 1.4 but I am unable to find a setting that lets me put a volume slider in the notification bar. I would like to change the volume by pulling down the notification bar and slide it. It would be great if someone can suggest an app or a setting that I can change to get that. Thanks!
What about the volume buttons built into the phone?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA
I am using a case that covers the volume buttons so it's hard to press. It will be better if I can slide it.

Wow, thanks! That's exactly what I am looking for. Too many volume apps in market but this one displays volume bar that I can slide.

Lockscreen torch work around

One thing I missed coming to the G2 from AOSP ROMs on my DNA were torch quick toggles, with the screen on-- long pressing a nav key, or off--long pressing a hardware button. Don't know if the devs have these going on any ROMs around here, but I've come up with a little work-around that should work regardless of what you're running.
You'll need:
Tasker
Tesla LED
G2 Xposed settings
Secure Settings (or another app that turns off your screen)
For screen on
In Tasker, go to the Tasks tab and create a new task. Call it "toggle torch" or something. Add action-->third party-->Tesla LED-->Set: toggle. Hit Back. Long Press the task you just created, then hit the three-dot menu on the top right. Export-->As App. Name it something. After it creates the app, hit the little Android button to install the app.
Fire up G2 Xposed and under the Nav bar settings, set your "toggle torch" on one of the buttons' long press actions.
For screen off
Follow the above instructions, but add an additional action to the task to lock/turn off the screen. Name the task and app something different than the first, like "toggle torch lock."
I have this one set to my Volume Up in G2 Xposed settings. It turns on the screen for a second when toggling the torch on or off, but you don't have to unlock or anything and it works with the pin enabled.
I also hid the toggle apps in my app drawer with Nova just because.
Hope this helps somebody!

I have the same setup i think , but it doesn't work for me ?
Lg g2 , rooted + xposed + G2 xposed + nova launcher prime + secure settings + tasker
My created app works fine when launched Manually.
I think it might be a bug in G2 xposed,
since the only option that actually works Is putting it to stock function ...
Thanks for the walkthrough, I was just thinking the same .
In CM11 ROM the torch works fine , but it isn't stable enough for daily use

I used g2 xposed to enable aosp lock screen then used gravity box to long press lock icon for torch.
Also used g2 xposed and using volume key for torch when screen is off.
And last I have notification toggle app and have torch as a one of the toggles.

The culprit was gravitybox. Even without configuration , having it enabled was enough to block G2 xposed .
The good news : there is a torch function built into G2 xposed to use with the volume keys

Using an app called Torchie, just press both 'volume buttons' together to turn on/off torch anytime. It runs as a background service and just works anytime, screen on, lock screen and even when screen off (if enabled from Torchie Settings). It kinda make your phone feel like a conventional battery operated torch. No root required.

how to add a button on quick settings panel

please, can any tellme how to add the button "mobile data" to the quick settings panel, because when open the menu, the button its not there, so I need to get this function beside the wifi button... please any help?
Pull down the notification panel, then pull down a second time to expand the quick setting tiles. The mobile data tile should be listed there. You may need to add it or move it to be shown next to Bluetooth quick settings tile by pressing the "menu icon" , the 3 vertical dots, by the gear in the top right. Then choose button order. Simply hold down the tile you wish to move it'll vibrate and then allow you to drag to a different location.

Just realized the data tile had been disabled and is not available on the Galaxy SO for some stupid reason. Found this article that will allow you to add it. www.xda-developers.com/how-to-resto...ttings-tile-toggle-on-samsung-galaxy-devices/
Check out the comments below the article,as there is a shortcut.
