How to unroot my TF without loosing data? I've seen a couple ways to unroot, but both say to wipe data. Is there a way to restore without wiping data? I'd like to get the latest update.
wrong forum. Closing and moving to the correct one.
I am a total noob at rooting phones and I accidentally soft-bricked my Samsung Repp SCH-R680 in CWM by trying to erase all user data.
I thought I had a backup, but apparently it installed the backup to the phone and not the sd card, so when I wiped user data, I wiped my backup and all R680 system files.
I was wondering if someone could send me a stock nandroid backup of either their R680 or point me to any available online so I can get my phone functioning again.
My family is without a phone until I fix this.
Maybe I am derping hard, but here is my problem. Having finally moved to an S4, I decided to clean up my One S and give it to my brother - but I wanted to get my app data out it first (settings, mostly). But I can't run TitaniumBackup until I root it. And to root it, it looks like I need to unlock my bootloader. And unlocking the bootloader will wipe my data (?).
So I can't backup my data until I... wipe my data? Which step am I getting wrong?
My Maxx is rooted on 4.4, I am going to get rid of the phone and want to wipe the phone via Settings > Backup and Reset > Factory data reset.
This may be a dumb question, but I thought I read somewhere with our unique root method, doing this will cause the phone to loose root without the ability to get it back without unlocking the bootloader.
Does anyone have experience with this? I am preparing to sell this phone and want to make sure I get rid of all the data before I do.

You will not lose root if you wipe data. Even if it deleted your supersu app all you'd need to do is download it from the play store.

i can't even install APK's and i am confused whether google drive is backing up my new data or not.
