[GUIDE] Reflash original recovery - HTC Sensation

Because there isnt any thread about reflashing the old recovery for HTC Sensation ill create one.
Because of the problem after S-OFF and the installation of Clockworkmod recovery the battery wont charge when the phone went empty. Here are some simple steps to put the htc recovery back.
1. Download this PG58IMG file http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=671910&d=1312083040
2. Put the file in the root of your memory card
3. Shutdown phone and pull out battery
4. Press volume down and hold it when you put on your phone
5. The phone wil find the PG58IMG file and ask if you want to update, select yes
6. After installation reboot phone and remove the PG58IMG file from the memory card
7. Your done and your phone will charge when its shut down (wait for a fix from Clockword mod recovery)
CREDITS: ikhzter and Behold_this

Thanks for the trick
It fixes the battery problem, but in my case, it breaks the market In the HD Revolution rom.
I can use the market after I reflash the original recovery, after that I keep getting the "error not enough space to download"

Wait....so if my phone dies I won't be able to charge it to get it back on????? Wow...that sounds like a huge issue. Looks like I'm flashing the stock recovery.

READ post one of the S off Guide
IT will only not charge if you disable fastboot
if it dies while fastboot is enabled, it will charge and switch on as long as you dont try to switch it on while its dead!

Tried the steps downloaded app put on sd card no directly no file
turn phone off took battery out
held volume down power on got bootloader screen but never picked up app ?

Good idea to throw this on the SDCard in case of emergency.

Ok, I reflashed the original recovery, even though i had the 4.0.1.5 CWM, since some people said it still doesnt fix the problem. I just didnt want to risk being somewhere away from pc/net/cables, and ending up with a dead phone.
Now my question is: If and when there is a proper fixed version of CWM comes out, can I just flash it simply using the RomManager? Or do i need to go through some complicated procedure?

A proper fixed version has already been released.
Download Rom Manager from the market and install the recovery from within the app. Make sure the recovery is Orange after you flash it, not Blue.
Charging will work, and it will give you the advanced functionality that Rom Manager provides.
Easiest thing in the world to do.

I had the orange colored CWM already, but in the other thread it was speculated that it still wasnt working perfectly.

Chances are you can and are just missing a step but to figure out where something got missed we're going to need some more information, what happens when you try to boot into recovery?
I made the root and every thing is good until I remove the battery and placed it again, when I enter the bootloder and choose recovery then it didn't enter on the recovery mode the same if you didn't put any thing
And again i shoud root the device one more time

i have no idea what you're saying to say.
im sorry, repeat?
Man,
Once you did root on your NS, you have to download in market "Rom Manager" and apply Clockworkmod "First option when you open it". Than you don't have to flash clockworkmod every time!!
Got it?

Wasn't it you that just said if you're not helping don't post? He just clarified from his first post and I think its pretty clear whats going on.

So here is what I think is going on: When you try to boot into recovery there a big exclamation point in the middle of you screen? Assuming that is correct here is what you need to do. You'll need to get Root Explorer from the market. Once you've got that on your phone open it up and find a folder called "etc". At the top of the window you'll see [mount r/w]. Click on that. Now scroll down until you find a file called "install-recovery.sh" which you'll need to rename to "old-install-recovery.sh" or you can just delete it (I chose to delete it, its just a personal preference). Once that is done go back to the market and download Rom Manager. Open it up and click on Flash clockwork recovery. It'll ask for superuser permissions and allow it.
Now you should be able to boot into CWM recovery!
If I assumed wrong, please explain what happens when you try to boot into recovery.
why you have to delete this archive??? I just applied with rom manager and every thing is running fine on my 2.3.3 stock + Root!!

Because that file automatically checks if you have a custom recovery on every boot and replaces it with the stock recovery. Go into your etc folder and if its not there or renamed that would explain it.
Thanks for all

Fix Vibrant 4G Clockword recovery Mod and use ROM Manager for Backup and ROM Flashing

I am modifying this post removing some steps:
Note that you can always go back to orignal Odin ROM using Vibrant Download Mode in the link below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=978836
You should know what you are doing, otherwise I am not reponsible for any device brick.
1- Use SuperOneClick 1.7 to gain root (USB debugging enabled).
Open SuperOneClick and run Shell Root with your phone plugged in.
Use Rage option, then once done, reboot the phone and verify root using "Root Checker" from the Market.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
2. Download "3e_recovery_installer.zip" from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833423
run the 3e Recovery Installer. When finished, close.
3. Flash ClockWorkMod Recovery via ROM Manager from market by selecting "Vibrant" when asked for phone type. Then reboot into recovery. (You may need to reboot your phone if you get stuck on the ROM Manager "Reboot to Recovery" screen) (Just reboot, then attempt to reboot into recovery again)
At the blue recovery select "reinstall packages". The first time will fail, run it once more, and you should now have the green CWM Recovery menu.
4. Install Kernel Flasher from the Market and backup the kernel.
5. use Rom Manager to flash Data and Dalvik init.d-busybox with data to SD update.zip to fix Data and Dalvik init.d-busybox from below link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=744655
6- When finshed you should be able to backup and restore the ROM using Rom Mananger.

I guess I'm the first casualty of this. I did everything to the letter in the post up to step five. Once i flashed 4g_sd-fix_New in rom manager it the phone rebooted and did the exact opposite of what it was supposed to do. It no factory reset my phone and neither the sd card nor the internal storage mount.
Any help would be appreciated here.

Is anyone able to get data back?
I tried using Odin to flash to stock and I'm still unable to get data connection unless I connect to Wifi.
I sure hope you modified the SD Fix.....
That fix was created by Eugene and I to fix mounting for the Vibrant. If flashed to a 4G, it'll break.
I wouldn't recommend this method at all, this looks risky. Just wait for krylon or koush to come out with a proper release of cwm. I have offered to lend my phone to either of them and im sure as soon as either one has the time they will get it going.
I don't like doing things half ass, and while the work is appreciated i wouldn't recommend this guide to the average user as i lost my first 4g to a similar guide.

I tried all the steps till 5 and get the data not being able to connect and then after I Odin back to stock and I'm unable to do step 6.
Krylon can you load up the 2 ROM's you have available for us to try if we can get this damn thing to work?

Yes, Step 5 was created by us to allow both Internal and External SD to auto mount to the phone and PC on the VIBRANT.
We had to modify the stock 4G files to allow this due to the 4G only having a external SD.
For now, I'm reporting this thread due to it being just like the last "CWM for Vibrant works on the 4G" thread which caused bricks, which resulted in me having to create the ODIN image for everyone.
Please do not jump the gun. Be patient.

CWM app finally supports sensation.

I'm not sure if it happened today or yesterday, but CWM now has a recovery compatibile with the ROM manager app. Just wanted to pass the word.

If I were you I would make sure I am running a custom ROM (this will be rooted properly). If you already are, backup up all your files, do a super wipe, and try installing another custom ROM.
Also make sure your WiFi is turned on whenever using ROM manager.

Thanks for the thread. I just went into RM and asked to flash the current recovery and that prompted me to choose the phone to flash and only the HTC Sensation was listed so that was easy peasy. I hit that, let RM flash the current recovery and during that the SU asked for root permission which I granted of course (this with the window to choose the phone was still up). When I noticed the background bar on top was done, I hit HTC Sensation in the pop up window again and it gave me a successful message.
I am now backing up my current ROM now (CoreDroid).

[Q] I am stuck on htc logo screen after updating radio and wimax

I recently just rooted my shift to rooted 2.2 them did a custom rom cm7.1.0 speedy everything went very well.....then i decided to update the radio and wimax....did that through bootloader with a pg06img.zip file containing both....udated fine then went to reboot and i got stuck on the htc screen.......when i did this with the stock rooted rom no problem....except it didn't update the radio etc......
if any body has any suggestions i would greatly appreciate it....thank you
This is covered in the radio thread.. Take the zip off the root of your sdcard, boot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik, then reboot. If it still won't boot you may have to restore your nand, don't worry this won't revert back to the old radios.

ok i seem to have fixed the problem with a little trick....the problem was that i had that pg601img.zip on my sd so every time i would try and go into the bootloader it would automatically load that file so i could not go to recovery could not delete it from sd via pc due to write protection so what it did let me do is rename the file.....so that it would let me chose recovery(clockworkmod recovery) so i could load my rom backup

[Q] Installed wrong Firmware phone is stuck on splash screen

I have made a big mistake and tried upgrading my phones firmware to install a costume rom.
Phone: HTC Sensation 4G
Company: Tmobile
I downloaded it the wrong firmware now my phone keeps restarting to the main htc screen over and over it wont get past that, I tried doing a factory reset but I'm not sure if it went trough. I'm done toying around with my phone I just want to go back to the the stock version of htc please help me. I can't afford to buy another phone.
Thank you so much.
Fredy
You should be able to pull the battery, hold the power /Vol down to reboot into recovery, mount the USB, copy the correct one and then flash it
Probably the reason why its always restarting is because the firmware is not compatible with the stock rom. I suggest that you should flash the rom that is compatible with the firmware that you installed.
Normally when you flash the firmware of a stock sensation to a latest one for a custom rom, it will bootloop because the current rom is not compatible with the firmware.
Sent from revolutionized HTC Sensation ICS
U can try this if u have a custom recovery (CWM or 4EXT) installed and flashed the firmware by using sd card (PG58IMG.zip):
Remove the sd card from the phone
Hold volume-down + power to boot into bootloader.
Wait 10 seconds until the bootloader is fully loaded
Insert the sd card now
Connect your phone to the PC via USB
Navigate with the volume button and select recovery with the power button
Wait for the recovery to boot
Select -Toggle usb storage-
Phone is now connected in USB storage mode
Delete the PG58IMG.zip file from the sd card using your computer (u can access the sd card as usb mass storage device)
Copy the right PG58IMG.zip (firmware) to the sd card
Select disconnect
Press back to return to the recovery main screen
Reboot phone into bootloader
Bootloader starts flashing firmware
