Camera/Camcorder - Cm 7.1 Rc - Droid Incredible Themes and Apps

Alright its been awhile since when I flashed the Cm 7.1 RC rom. All I want to know is/is there a different type of camcorder compatible with this rom? I've looked and searched everywhere, but can't seem to find one that is decent or works.
The one currently on Cm 7.1 RC is terrible, although its got a good capture and HQ it doesn't use the HTC Incredibles widescreen and doesn't have a resolution. Its also missing a few extra features - brightness/contrast etc.
So is there any out there that will work for this rom? I was using IncRom 1.6 before I flashed Cm 7.1 RC and the camera/camcorder was amazing! I tried unpacking the camera installing and it wouldn't. Deleted my original camera in system/app and replaced it with the camera I wanted to use and renamed it but still either wouldn't install or would constantly force close.
So as a plea, can someone help me here?
Thanks in advance!

The MIUI one is pretty snazzy. Touch to focus, also has auto focus, isn't fugly like the CM7 one either.

You should flash this via recovery also.

That's a way better one then the stock Cm 7 one I had.
Still doesn't have the extra features - brightness/sharpness/contrast etc.
But definitely has what I need if I can't get a better one.
But again thank you! Way better, love it.

Yeah I guess you could always download a camera app from the market if you're looking for additional features- there are some pretty sweet ones out there.
I'm not much of a camera user, and when I use it then it's pretty casual use so I never noticed it was even missing those options.

Unfortunately, the MIUI camera will cause reboots which in my books in unacceptable.
Your only real alternate option is to seek out some market camera apps. It angers me that the stock android camera (cm7) and most (all) of the market cameras have horrible user interfaces. The MIUI one is perfect - simple and beautiful. However it causes reboots, so no thanks to that.
Come on Google, we know you have some good in house designers... snazz up that camera interface!

I love CM7, but I hate the stock android camera. I end up flashing to a sense based rom every now and then for the camera but then realize how much I hate sense and revert to CM7. I fear I might be stuck in this infinite loop!

I don't know what happened, but I had the IncROM 1.6 rom's camera Apk "Zip file" and when I flashed to the 151#build nightly I had the crappy one reinstalled then reinstalled the MIUI one and then I was like, ehhh. I should install this to just incase, well I thought it was my backup of the crappy camera and the IncROM zip file camera I had was renamed the same Apk. So I installed this thinking it was the original one and turns out it was the IncROM camera. Installed fine, works fine. MIUI, works fine, no force closes. Both camera work and each has there own unique ability.

Wait you managed to get the sense camera from the IncROM rom to work on cm7? Meaning it works with no force closes and no other errors? If this is correct then alot of cm users will be happy.

Well if its a sense rom? I'm new to the world of rooting but I try to learn as quickly as possible. I don't know how it happened but it installed for me, no force closes, no reboots. It works fine with the MIUI camera, the configuration the IncROM camera has is - contrast/saturation/sharpness - High/low/YouTube high "quality" and a few others. But yeah this works perfect I tried to take a picture of the settings but it hits a black screen when I do this. But I could take a picture of the interface between the two?
This is the Sense IncROM camera interface.

Thank you for posting a picture of it, by going by that screen shot that is not the sense camera. That looks like the regular aosp camera that comes with cyanogenmod.

The stock cyanogen camera uses Tv-Format widescreen with dark grey borders. It doesn't have alot of options/configuration.
When I reinstalled with 152#build, I installed the MIUI camera because it installed the stock. Then I wondered..what if I try the IncROM camera again since the MIUI took over stock.
Again though I got confused, it wasn't named the correct apk since I renamed it camera.apk. So when I installed it, I was gambling with the stock camera too because I didn't know if it was the IncROM or Stock.
It was the IncROM, and I'm happy. I'm telling you it isn't the stock.

This is the stock android (CM7) camera. The other screenshot looks like an older version of the MIUI camera.

Finally got it downloaded and installed and I gotta say, I'm pretty impressed. The only problem I had was the first boot (it took forever) but, it's stableness can match the Stock Fender ROM. Multitouch works (I only tried it in gallery) and you 5 panels instead of 3 panels for your homescreen. Here are 2 screenshots.

@Cody, can you get tv.com?
LOVING this rom! It's SUPER fast, and very stable! I've tested a bunch of things on it, still making my way through it, but so far, the ONLY issue I have is same as the others, it will not power down. Otherwise, the speed is ridiculous, my 3G seems to be far more stable, and all in all, it's gorgeous... Two thumbs up!!

No, I can't find tv.com. I guess I was wrong, I based that off the fact I could find Barcode Scanner.

Thanks idk cz i accidentally broke my boulder lcd today and i think our spec isn't supported to run ics but who knows XD
Wifi broken?
Hi there!
Good job, but i have a problem: as i active wifi it says "Error" - so i can't activate wifi, which is more then bad.
Any ideas?
It's been two days since I'm using this ROM. It's so smooth, less lags, compared to the Kenyan ROM. Games that lags before work flawlessly now. for those who want ICS look, just download Holo Launcher in Play Store and replace ADW Launcher... Anyway, is there any way we can make the stock radio to work here..?
after using this for almost 3 weeks.. I have noted some of the major bugs. hope this will get fixed too... trying to fix some of myself on my free time but not all, I'm still learning.
1. back-light of the keyboard (but this was already fixed using a code from the thread in modaco)
2. some icons aren't meant to be like gallery has an icon of the camera app and some don't have icon at all (choosing default app). some, I fixed myself
3. gallery app is also named camera instead of gallery. (you will see this in titanium backup; link2sd and other app managers)
4. images and videos captured in camera are rotated to the right. it's fine with pictures as you can rotate them in the gallery but videos have to be rotated manually on a computer.
5. hope someone get the FM radio to work too...
Hope some more experienced devs will help fix these too... Love this ROM, so fast compared to the stock Kenyan ROM...
i'm starting to give up fixing the problems... I just don't have enough experience yet to fix these issues.. anyway, managed to fix some broken icons. tried to fix image wrong rotation and tried renaming gallery too (it's named camera but appears gallery in launcher. check it in app managers like Titanium backup, link2sd, etc) but I can't get everything else to work after editing xml's (probably wrong compiling and signing) so I really can't test them at all because the apk's won't install anymore after modding them. Hope someone more experienced help me with this...
Can you tell me that can i flash ics layout again diectly without wipping cuz m feeling i think my layout is not according to the picture like blue bar, my boulder has yellow bar and icons of ginger bread not ics
not sure but I think it's better to just push the framework-res.apk. It's much safer...
cyberangel22k, do you know how to fix background light?
edit** I already found the link, thanks anyway.
Camera Zoom FX fixes the pictures being saved in portrait rather than landscape mode. Bizarrely in the original Froyo ROM it was the other way round.

Pretty cool accept is there a way to change storage with this to an SD card? It seems really basic. If not cool either way.

I don't think any device that currently has a 4.2 build for it even have SD card slots, so it makes sense that option isn't included. I would recommend if you're running cm10/aokp that after you paste this into /system/app/ that you reboot into recovery, wipe the dalvik and fix permissions. The first time I tried this I had some rather weird glitches in the gallery, and a force close of the camera. After doing it over again with the dalvik wipe and fixed permissions, everything works fine. Haven't tried the sphere camera yet though.

I suspect not. Apparently this is from the 4 and there are no provisions for an external SD on a 4.

Upon further review, my camera locks up as well and the resulting picture is just all black. Gallery is the only thing working 100%. Just changing to the sphere camera setting causes an immediate FC.
I found a 100% version working on for the Galaxy Nexus, I tried it and I love the sphere mode... Wish it was working on my GS3
Where on earth did you get the 4.2 camera and gallery?
Anyone had success loading this on AOSP or is this like the stock camera that requires touchwiz? Also, i hope the sphere feature gets worked out soon because thats the most exciting new addition

i tried it on Liquid Smooth RC7 and it opened once, i took one picture and after that nothing but FC's
Edit: OP you might wanna add these libs to your post, people on androidcentral are saying that adding them to system/libs is helping other things to work

So what is not working with the sphere picture taking, it worked for me and I can view the picture. Running BlackBean v6 for reference.
Someone needs to combine those libs into the original file stat! Was thinking about giving this a go but I like saving to my external sd. For some reason I have weird probalems uploading pictures that are saved to the internal storage.
Kind of sucks they took out those front facing camera quirks. Those were fun, thanks for the upload!
Isn't Photo Sphere what everyone really wants? What other advantage is there to the new camera if that is no working?
To those who have tried photosphere, what's the total resolution of the picture? Does it get downsized?
It's not working that great for me either. I can actually grab the image using PhotoSphere no problem, but it comes out looking blurry and distorted.
Is there a certain process to follow when taking the picture?

I'll fiddle with it a bit and see if I can get it to work on the SGS3 (US Variants), but the S3 has a crazy complicated way of handling the camera hardware so I will probably fail.

[APP] LG Stock Camera app for AOSP ROMs

Hi guys, a few people asked me to look into porting the stock camera app over to AOSP ROMs, and I've managed to get it sorted out over the past couple of days. So far it seems to be working well, but if it crashes, let me know.
There are a few missing features when running on a non-LG ROM, namely:
No Object Tracking. You know that thing where a grid of little boxes shows up on the screen and one of them will turn green as the camera focuses? That's missing.
No Audio Zoom. It's still enabled in the UI, but I've patched out all the methods relating to it, as they caused crashes.
No transparent navigation bar.
No rotating navigation buttons.
Performance tuning - it's possible that this will run slower than it would on an LG ROM. The LG rom includes a class called org.codeaurora.Performance that does some kind of performance tuning. It depends on native code that's not included in AOSP, so I patched out the references to it to avoid crashing. I haven't noticed a difference, but I can't easily compare them side-by-side.
All the missing functionality is part of LG's customizations to the system frameworks. There's a chance I might be able to add some stuff back using Xposed or Cydia Substrate, but I'm not promising anything
Apart from that, everything else seems to work fine (dual camera, hdr, burst mode, etc). I haven't tested every single option, so it's possible there's broken stuff in there somewhere.
For some reason, the pics from this app go into an album called "100LGDSC" instead of the "Camera" album, though that may be carrier-dependent.
Installation
Just install LGCameraApp.apk and you should be good to go.
Cheers!
Downloading now. You are too good to us, we are not worthy. Especially if you added more with Xposed, my mind would be blown.
Haha now can you port the lock screen?! (I swear I'm kidding)
Thank you so much
just found this...
YOU ARE AWESOME!
what i found not working:
-60fps video
-intelligent auto mode
Nice work! I've been wanting to try the LG stock camera on AOSP for a while now.
Just a heads up, the app force closes when you switch from the rear camera to the front camera, and it will just keep force closing unless you very quickly switch back to the rear camera.

Holding the shutter to take multiple photos (burst) is not working on my phone.
Is it working on yours?
Rubbish quality pictures. Not even close to the LG stock camera.

Even in that one things it wanted were a bit much for me, especially when compared to other popular camera apps in playstore.

Of course, had the OP linked to the main thread about this camera, you'd be able to find the versions that had some of the permissions removed because they're only really needed for the social aspects of the Gallery.

used this camera for a week or so.
overall, so-so or worse photos form rear cam, and better photos from front cam.
It's not bad

I've been quite pleased with Snap Camera HDR. Has anyone else given it a shot? It's a paid app, but considering the array of features it provides, along with a solid UI, $2 seemed like a steal. The free version is fully functional, but has an annoying 10 second delay at startup built into it.

Very great, and its dosnt need root.
very thanks brother.
you top
I tried many cam app on aosp, i have the felling that this one is the best one, for quality AND features. with the new google camera for photosphere/panorama, it is quite good.
i cannot compare to stock, cause i flashed slimkat less than 15 minutes after unpacking... is the stock camera much better than this one?
Comparing this to the stock camera app, I actually found the stock one took a higher quality picture. It's not a bad app though and has a lot of cool features, but I'm gonna stick with the stock camera.

the 3.6.6 is available, google it. I used the apk found on a galaxy S4 or galaxy note3 thread (apk, not flashable zip).
Works really great, except a few features to avoid cause they freeze the camera.
Oh cool, thanks for the heads up. I'll check out that newest one!
