[Q] New Mkt dissapeared on infuse - Samsung Infuse 4G

Hello and yes i am a newby...Would appreciate any and all help.
I Just got the Infuse. Put in Sim and booted. Logged into gmail and then went to market. It WAS new. Went back to phone and looked around a bit. Then all of a sudden I could not get online...mkt or browser. Turned out needed new 4g sim and data plan. Did that and fine however, the new market is nowhere to be found now. It was there at first boot now nothing. I looked at version of mkt on rooted infuse froyo 2.2.1 vs. rooted captivate froyo 2.2. It seems that the same version of market is on infuse ...anyone know what happened ? I am trying to figure out how to possibly sign out of gmail then sign in again?? wondering if that will help...HELP.

Maybe Google reverted the new market due to all the bugs...

GOT IT!!!! and 2.2 vs. 2.2.1
Maybe. I ended up googling it and found a direct link to the apk for mkt 3.0.27 l clicked on it and updated the sys market app. went TO mkt and tah dah!! There she is. Have not had any problems with it. I'd post the link but i'm a newby.... :rolleyes
Thank you...
Btw. anyone notice the diffs between froyo 2.2 and 2.2.1 which my infuse has? The messaging app is not attractive...what happened to the blue and yellow "bubbles" now everything is grey and white.
also i found a new feature under settings..privacy. Back-up data. I guess you can back it up to google server and restore.
gmail looks better
AND MY FAV. you can use your own image/pic for your lock screen or the defalut one!!! yeah.

Dunno, I haven't run the stock ROM since day one, with the exception of a brief trip through ultimate unbrick after a failed filesystem experiment.
Messaging app in Infused 1.x and 2.x has grey/blue bubbles.

few quick questions..[ROM Q's/Stock]

Ok i got my Captivate.. 3 days after release... ordered it the night it went on sale on AT&T website and got it that tuesday.. ANYWAYS i played with it a bunch and played with the the GPS setting tring to get it to work better... not much luck.. or i ran the OCLF root/lagfix. It was doing fine never had any of the shut down problems that poeple have talked about.. then the FOTA patch was coming out and i wanted to get it so i undid the lag fix so that wouldnt be a problem then ran ODIN3 to get back to stock unrooted state so i could update (this was before anyone knew if there would be any issues with updating while rooted).. only after i did the odin3 did i find out THAT would prevent be from doing the FOTA update
So now i'm sitting on my Captivate with ODIN3 stock.. unrooted and all...
SO here my questions... LOL
Cognition thats it add to the phone? i havent been able to find a list of things that are different..
having done the odin3 1clk (not the full wipe) can i still use teh OCLF to root without any issues?
Reinstalling apps isnt that big of a deal.. appbrain has them all listed so i can just reinstall from there no problem..
Also i live in a EDGE only area so the HSUPA part of Cognition is worthless to me..

Some apps no showing in Market After 2.2

I swore I wouldnt go to stock Froyo since using Phoenix, but that changed.
My friend updated to the official Froyo and after using it a couple of days he swore to me that the battery life was much greater then before. I had to try it.
I returned to stock with Odin and updated to Froyo. The battery lasts me much longer then it was with Phoenix. If I could get a rom like Phoenix to have battery life like Im getting with the official Froyo then I would be one happy camper.
Now onto my problem, since updating to Froyo Im not able to access all apps in the market. The one that I know for sure is not showing is Paypal. I ran into two others, but cant remember which ones off the top of my head. Can anyone tell me why all apps might not be showing and how I can correct this?
I would appreciate any help.
Thanks

You have a locked market with the offical ATT update just like normal on a stock rom. You will need to find a way to unlock the market to show all apps. thats about as much as I know as I cant bring my self to take a step backwords from Phoenix/ Super nova 2.2.1 to stock 2.2. Too many missing features
Try turning on airplane mode then turn on wifi to access the market.
Well that sucks about the locked market.
I tried going into airplane mode then wifi and that didnt work. What I don't understand is that I was able to get the apparently when I was on stock 2.1. I have it backed up with titanium backup. If I root should I be able to restore it?

If you are rooted, you can download Market Enabler http://code.google.com/p/market-enabler/downloads/list and sideload it via Sideload Wonder Machine
Have you tried clearing data on the Market app? I've had to do that several times since the KB1 Update.

I did try that, but it made no difference. I'm going to try to recommended enabler to see if that does it. Thanks.

Not sure if this will help or not but I just read in another thread someone was having a similar problem. They found that being rooted shows more apps in the market than unrooted. There were several apps one user had on his rooted 2.1 that didn't show when he did the official update. After rooting they were there. You might just try rooting and see if your apps are available.

[Q] Old Android Market on New G2x

Just got my G2x yesterday, activated it to T-Mo and I haven't yet rooted/ROM'd (mainly b/c I want to see how the GB stock build will be) and I have the old Android Market (from 6+ months ago) app and it's not updating to the current version. I have rebooted the phone, FC'd the Market, everything short of doing an annoying factory reset and starting over after one day of use - still no new Market.
Anyone else having this problem? Any fixes?
Thanks in advance!
Give it a day at least mine usually automatically updates itself after a while once I'm logged in my account and connected to servers

Old market with gingerbread update

Hello everyone,
I've had the gingerbread update for about two days now and the android market doesn't seem to be acting right. I happen to be stuck with the old market even though I had the newly updated market before I went all gingerbread man. Then to make matters worse when I try scrolling down to look through more apps it doesn't load anymore of them, it just shows like 10 max. Any possible solutions to this?
Just install the new market. There is a thread somewhere in themes and apps with it I believe.

or wipe your device and re-sync it. i lost my apps in the marketplace over a rom flash. i wiped the dev via the bootloader and let it sync again... been fine ever since.
I have the old market too for the time being, I'll enjoy it while I can. I hate the new market and think it's bloated crap

no free wifi tether on gingerbread :(

so i did the ota update to gingerbread and now my barnacle wifi tether doesnt work. when i try to run the app it shows an error saying the DCHP port is already in use and in the notification tray the little white tethering icon pops up. so it seems to me that the phone tries to launch the built-in tethering app that you have to pay verizon for. i tried using app quarantine but that doesnt even recognize the app/setting so idk how to turn it off.
if i switch to a custom rom would that eliminate that stock app and the issue?
So - you had Barnacle working on your D2G?? My computer would connect, but would not 'see' any internet connection. Also barnacle would not list any clients when my computer was connected. When I went to uninstall, I noticed that the app was for EVO... I never tried/knew the app existed before the OTA update to GB. I have also noticed that half the reviews say 'does not work on D2G' so I'm wondering what the difference is between this phone and every other Android phone on earth and if anyone is working on a fix??
yea i had used it for quite some time, with ipods and computers. it was a life saver on road trips. i dont remember when i downloaded it but i never noticed anyone saying it didnt work or that it was just for the evo. and i got mine straight from the market too.
but yea this ota update screwed it up with the built-in app/settings. i dont know any way to fix it so i posted this in hopes that someone can program a workaround or something. im also gonna check out other roms. the pros of gb outweigh this problem so i dont wanna switch back to froyo
ok so i tried the Venus rom and that didnt work either. it has the same stupid vzw tether app that gets in the way. to me it looks like any GB based rom is outta the question, unless they found a way to remove that app. im back on the stock froyo (had some stupid issues with SBF that wasted a lot of time) i guess ill live with bad battery life and wait to update to GB when this gets fixed
There is no “stupid Verizon app” anywhere. There's the baseband (radio firmware) which does that.
i just call it that cuz its frustrating. and are you saying there is no way to get rid of this or work around it??
There were threads on how to alter baseband settings to make tethering work; I can't really find one right now, but I'm sure I saw them either in this forum section, or in droidforums' D2G section.
So it's a radio firmware that tells the app to take control? hmm. I'll look around for something as well for the D2G. I'll post any results. But yes as for now i downgraded to 2.2 again. need my tethering. #against the system.
Look into Open Garden. It is another tethering app (free in market)
