I'll tell you why the galaxy fit doesn't and will probably never have Overclocking/Customroms/anything...
okay here goes :
1- most people who have it whine...a lot.
2- most people who have it can't speak engRish well.
3- most people who have it want to aquire, but not give back.
4- the structure/firmware of the phone is similar to the Galaxy mini, Heck i even tried to flash a mini firmware on it and it worked lol.
5- alas, the galaxy mini is cheaper = more users = more developers.
6- i have it , it's my first android phone, i love it but let's be honest, it's an entry-level phone and you're supposed to get some android expertise with it, then switch to a phone that IS supprorted.
So unless some or all of those issues are solved, don't expect any customROMs/Overclocking/anything.
Feel Free to learn the english language/ android programming language and then maybe you can give something to this community.

I'm having problems with it BUT, I will not say you shouldn't buy it. It's a great fone specially if you like to play games on your mobile.
Just make sure you do all the checks you need to do before the replacement period is over. Cheers!

Its a very good phone, economical for a hi-fi specs and lots of scope in tweaking.
Except for battery life, its a very good phone. Reliability and failure issues do exist in every electronics products.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PROPER WARRANTY SUPPORT AND SERVICE IN YOUR COUNTRY. IF NOT SAMSUNG WARRANTY, AT-LEAST THE SHOP WARRANTY.

Well this thread is a little vague, no offense, to a potential new user.
Anyway, I was gonna buy this phone for my little brother, mostly for gaming and had a few questions.
1. Being a tegra 2 device, I presume it runs most of the hd games flawlessly, right?
2. Which is the most stable rom and kernel available atm? Keep in mind, My bro would not be updating his phone in the near future, not even for ics, until I get my hands on it after about a year.
3. Ya'll talk about certain problems with the phone. Could ya'll please be more specific and elaborate? The dude who asked to check his thread, can you please provide a link mate? (I'll be searching when on my pc tomorrow, but will be nice if you can help for tonight's reading.)
4. Does OC really help on this device, again will mostly be used for gaming.
Will be happy if I/my bro doesn't get any random reboots, fc's, or crashes etc.

OC and non OC not a big difference.
First if it is not a big difference in money go for SGS2 it is more powerful device (not by a lot but still).
No significant issues with stability, and it has a great screen (my reason for buying it).
I know AMOLED has some advantages, but short lifespan is a no go for me (burn-in issue).
Also seems SGR has better sound processor.
On other fields SGS2 has an advantage. Consider this and do a little more research and make a decision

The phone works fine for me but the ROM is a Chinese one and I can get the Play Store to work. I was wondering what English ROM I could install on it without bricking it!

Ok so let me get this straight... You've been a member and reader for 8 years You bought a Chinese knock off called a "Goophone X1" that has DIFFERENT HARDWARE from our HTC One S and you are about to try to flash an HTC One S ROM to it?
Have you learned nothing in 8 years?
I know you're regretting buying this knock off but do you really wanna turn it into a paper weight that bad?

If you are still going to try.... please backup your rom. It's improbable that a One S rom will work and I don't want you to be stuck without one.

I have also cleaned this thread. There is no need for multiple users to have a go at the OP, he made a mistake but does not deserve some of these comments. This may of been your first thread aussiem8, but please take more care in the future.

There is a reason why its a clone. It doesnt have the same cpu. you cannot flash any rom (whether s4 or s3). If you do, be ready to call yourself cheap with an expensive paperweight.
I suggest you buddy up with mckayc, who started a thread similar to yours (see post #7 by makila), for your quest to find software and people for/with your device.

Don't consider my answer as a decision. Still you'll have to finalize.
My consideration is that, Samsung users are more similary there are lots of developers too when compared to HTC.
So i hope that would be a better choice, since you say that you used to play with things such as modding, tweaking, and using different roms.

I have a regular HTC One from T-mobile, and I love it. Its fast, good camera performs exceptionally well. The development community is amazing, and this phone is very active among the community. I've unlocked and rooted it as soon as i got it (when it came out like 7-8 months ago) and now theres even easier methods to unlock. By the way, currently HTC has the regular (sence version for all carriers) phone on Android 4.3 with plans to update to 4.4 by Jan and the GPE version is already at 4.4 so thats even better for the modders! Good luck!

I didnot register first time
And for past couple days i was getting server error.
Now it shows i can register but at the end it says maximum reached but maybe i thnk they will expand.....hope so i want the nougat badly

I miss the good ol' days when the Odin files for future updates were leaked regularly. But that was like 5 Galaxies ago.

In case something goes massively wrong they don't have to replace thousands of phones instead of hundreds. They did just have to do something like that.

The smaller the group the easier it is for them to fix the reported bugs. Why would they want 100,000 betas instead of 10,000 it is easier for them to not have as many suggestions and bug reports.
I am just curious but why is everyone running to Nougat? It is my understand that there isn't any root yet out for it. Unless I haven't read enough.

from others experience,it's faster compared to tmo apk1 mm and battery is also better..
i can stay widout root bcoz phone gets hot compared to stock one........

I tried the exact same thing and got the exact same response - lol
Note the email header - Korean script - which means this is being run directly from there and they could care less about how anyone over here feels about the program.

Anyway, they limit the numbers of beta testers likely because they don't have server capacity to handle everyone who wants it, for bug reports and other metrics. And they probably only require a certain sample size and don't want more people than they need. They are doing the beta for them, not for you to have early access to 7.0.

After the Note 7 they're gonna want all the bug reports they can get.. They need to have 0 issues with this update when it goes live... Any small issue will be exaggerated greatly due to the note 7. They're projected to lose over 5 Billion dollars. That's a lot of spare change right there! Since the s7 edge is what they're replacing notes with, as well as pushing it like crazy now with a new round of advertising, they need it to be perfect.

I am not from usa fyi....so no English is not my first language....
And about beta program i understand that they cant increase the limit.. it was just my opinion i expressed....which i am allowed to do i thnk so....
I was pissed off i couldnot get into beta so i expressed my opinion about this....

English isn't my first language either, fyi. It's one thing to make syntax and grammatical errors, and it's easy to tell when someone makes mistakes typical to non-native speakers. Nobody would ever fault you for that. But typing like you're a 12 year old girl (see urself, gr8, evry1, etc) has nothing to do with being a non-native English speaker. If you are indeed a 12 year old girl, please accept my apologies. But if you are an adult, cut out the ridiculous shorthand and communicate like an adult.
As to your second point, nobody told you that you could not express your opinion. In fact, I'm pretty sure I answered your question. Also, they could very well increase the limit for the beta in the future.
