thanks Doo Doo. thats a different recovery though... tryin to stay with CWM lol
Wrong forum but I'll tell ya anyway. For future reference, something like this should be in the Q&A forum.
Download touch recovery.
Put recovery.img in a PD98IMG.zip.
Make sure PD98IMG.zip is in root of sdcard.
Power off phone.
Hold volume down + power to boot into bootloader.
Allow bootloader to find image.
Volume up to install.
Reboot.
Or you can use ADB to flash recovery but someone else will have to tell ya how...or..
Umm...
Google it.

You won't be able to flash the PD98IMG.zip with just the .img file in it. Look for the .txt file inside the Hack Kit (tools folder and recovery) and use it to make you own zip file. Then you will be able to flash it...
But, listen to Doo Doo, 4ext is way much better. I have actually tried both...but currently using the later.

Yeah I forgot about the .txt file...I'm so used to using the PD98IMG that I have...it already has all that in it.
Here's a link to a PD98IMG that he can use if he checks back. It has the .txt file in it.

+1 for 4EXT recovery
You can get it installed with no additional effort by trying Android Revolution HD from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964841
It will install 4EXT recovery automatically.
It has way more features than CWM, you're using the touchscreen, you can format all phone partitions to EXT4 (keeping the sdcard the way it is) then you can install any ROM you want (ICS, Cyanogen) and keep all the goodies.
I'm glad I did!

good ...and now its better to change the recovery to 4EXT ..it helps you in the process ..you need not flash boot.img separately when using 4EXT recovery
installing 4EXT recovery will be a breeze to you now ...do the step #5 from the guide I've linked earlier ..and next time you can simply flash roms like any other SOFF people
also ..thanks ..you do it via thank button---the xda way

Does any rom wiht camera working ?
I used a HTC desire s... HTCdev bootloader unlocked s-on and rooted ...
This morning, was checking google play when i found a FONT INSTALLER app. i decided to try it. After installation, i opened it to use a font on their server, i backed up the stock font. after applying the font, my phone freezed up so i decided to restart maybe dat would fix it.
I rebooted and my fone got stucked at the "HTC quietly brilliant" bootscreen... i tried doing factory reset. I loaded bootloader then selected factory reset. i was directed to 4ext. I didnt get the reset cos it keeps stucking up at the same screen. So i decided to wipe.. I selected the "WIPE ALL PARTITION XCEPT SD CARD" :'(
...
Now my Phone doesnt boot up. After the first "HTC (without the quietly brilliant)" shows up... the screen goes dark till....
....
Pls i need help on how to put my phone back on.
GURUs in the house PLEASSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
Funny problem you have
What it shall boot? You have wiped everything from it, so there are no files.
I guees you have not make a Nandroid backup, so copy some ROM to your SDcard and flash it from 4EXT.
DO NOT forget to flash the boot.img afterwards

Tanks for your reply..
But pls can u make it clearer. I don have any backup... The only backup i have are my apps, non for the system files.
I can also get the RUU ICS ROM i downloaded from HTCdev. Can i do something with this? Thanks,
If you was on ICS go here and skip right to B) section.
If you was on GB go here and pick the version you was before. As if you was on Sense 2.1 you would flash RUU_Saga_HTC_Europe_1.47.401.4_signed_prerooted. If you was on Sense 3.0 then your pick will be HTC_Europe_2.10.401.8_deodexed_prerooted
Or just flash a custom ROM, there is plenty of choise. I would recommend Desire XS

Copy the ROM from your Sdcard to the PC. Open it and extract the boot.img that you will find inside. Then flash it with a command from your PC (you can search the forum how exactly).
And if still does not boot then you will be one of the lucky guys with the Hitachi panel so you will have to try a Sense ROM. Download, flash through the recovery, flash the boot.img as described above

I am using it for some time now I had no bugs, reboots. You can read the feedback of the users in the ROM's thread and then decide.
Just remember: when you are S-ON you have to flash the boot.img separately from fastboot for ANY new ROM that you are installing!

It would not because you have to lock the bootloader first. Better go back to post #4 and read the first line again. It will save you the trouble to unlock and flash a recovery again.

STOP SHOUTING! and read the post above, that is the solution, everyone who's still s-on needs to do that, it's well documented in this forum. Search, read. If that's too much for you, you shouldn't have messed with your phone in the first place.

Hi guys,
I'm experiencing the same issue with cm-11-20140614-UNOFFICIAL-saga from devil-kin. Even after I manually flash the boot.img file (fastboot flash boot boot.img) the phone just resets back into recovery, which I do find strange. Using the latest 4EXT recovery and latest version of Hboot.

2) My panel is made by Sony
And you formatted all partitions (except sd card) before installing? Also what version of 4ext do you have exactly?

I do not know how to work with the Touch version, as it's something that is working while you have a working Android, but when I flash a new one and then the new boot how should I do this?
Is there a guide on how to? (using the touch version of 4EXT)
Latest 4ext recovery and twrp have support for selinux which is needed for flashing KK, and they are both touch. Try on youtube to find some tutorial.

Sorry but it still want's to restart into the old recovery and then proceed with the new flash of the ROM. I'm out of guesses on how to use this app. Without a guide I'm lost.
I now saw that I got an Error | status7 Installation aborted. - what could that be?
Status 7 error is due to the recovery being too old.

To make nandroid backup
1) boot recovery
2) backup/restore
3) backup (select it to backup)
Thats u done.
To flash a rom
1) wipe/format
2) format all partitions except sdcard
(Once thats done go back to main menu)
3) install from sdcard
4) choose zip from sdcard
5) select ur rom to install it
(if rom requires u to flash gapps then do it straight after u flash the rom)
6) reboot
(if ur s-on then ul need to boot straight into fastboot after u flash the rom and flash the boot.img)
Hope that helps ya. Simples really.

I have a micromax a110 with 4.04 - as i got no update ever! So what i did was
Rooted the phone properly as per the procedure.
Downloaded the CWM 6.0.4.9 recovery [selinux] and flashed it with Recovery Link :http://forum.xda-developers.com/mic...opment/recovery-cwm-6-0-4-9-recovery-t2789175
Downloaded the [ROM][4.2.2] CanvaS5™ V1.1 Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2775553
After flashing the rom properly, when i reboot the phone, it gets stuck on the boot screen forever. Am i doing something wrong? Should i have flashed a kernel? or something. Please note, i am not looking into going back to stock, as i have moved into the dark side of the root world .
Since i have just been a Read-only user of XDA for all this while(more than a year), with no posts ever, i cant request for help on the Developer Thread as it requires privileges. That Recovery you flashed is SELinux enabled and is not supported by 4.1-4.2.2 Jelly bean Roms so you have got boot loop . You can try other recovery or flash higher android version roms .

I have tried it with SP tools, it doesnt work, man. Drivers, Softwares, updated all of them, i keep doing everything. I know i am doing something wrong, but its hard to identify, spent like the entire night trying to make it. Can't i get a flashable zip for CMW instead or know that on which rom did the CWM selinux work on? This boot looping is now killing :fingers-crossed:
Finally, i found a way, thanks 4Shreyas for all the help. Gave me knowledge and helped me identify the errors.
I couldn't flash the rom or the cmw recvoery through the pc as the drivers for SP tools never worked on my Win 8.1 x64. Finally applied the stock jellybean file from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2160609 . It updated my CMW since that was the problem i was stuck in bootloop.
After that i flash the phone with my desired rom.
In the end, all good:laugh:

Cheers bro !!!! Yes getting MTK drivers in win 8 is a challenging task and as SELinux CWM recovery is concerned you can flash 4.3.x and 4.4.x roms . Google it , if any rom is available then use that recovery to flash those roms .
Enjoy !!

True that, i actually gave up trying to find the drivers. There arnt any 4.3 or 4.4.x roms released for mmx. When they do, will surely apply the Selinux CWM. Thanks for all the help .:good:
