Do these apps work with the Charge? On GB or Froyo? Please help me out haha. Thanks!
i would like to know this also!
I just added Metamorph to Gummy GBE 1.8 so that I could add the custom screen transition animations posted over at droid forums. It works!
In case anyone is interested, here are the transition animations. They're great... They can also be added through the theme kitchen, but the Metamorph method seems easier. You can change between them without transferring files back and forth from your computer each time.
Didn't really care for the 4g icon with GC so I used NinjaMorph to change it.

Have you tried to change the notification bar, or the Notification backrounds at all? I've tried several times and when its "completed" the phone reboots but the changes are not there.

I haven't, the only change i've made with Metamorph were the animations. Can you point me in the direction of the notification bar mods?

It will be in the system/framework/framework-res.apk/res/drawable-hdpi... then SHOULD be the file labled status_bar_backround.... but it hasn't worked for me. Worked EVERY time on the DX.
EDIT: And just like that... I'm able to edit it. It helps if you already have a custom theme... For instance... the custom theme changed my notification bar... so when I went into the drawable-hdpi folder I just looked for a file (near the status_bar_backround) that looked like the notification bar. Then selected it and then selected the file I wanted to swap it out with... Now to find the backround file I need to change the pulldown menu backround.

Heres an idea. Instead of using ninjamorph to swap out system/Framework-res.apk Why not get yourself a flashable zip file and extract it. Now take out the contents(keep the META FILE). All we are after is the zip file. Now copy your framework-res.apk to the zip file under system/framework. Now use ninjamorph to edit the framework-res.apk from within the .zip file. Once changes are made let ninjamorph swap out the framework-res.apk and just zip the file and flash. The changes should stick. A little confusing but ive tried and it works.......

Yeah, I've been thinking there is a bettter way. Don't know where to get/how to make a flashable zip file. I will have to research that a little more. It would DEFINITELY be so much easier if I could just extract all of the files out to my computer, swap them out "repack" them and flash through ninjamorph. Gotta get some free time to figure that out.

All over the internet... You can practically shrink any image and recreate it or just go to certain websites and they'll have 48x48 .png icons for you!
just an example, I spent about 20 minutes searching the web for icons found these and threw everything together really fast.

I changed some of my icons here to mix it up a bit.
Here is a pic of the icons that were changed. Some are from the 2.1 ROMs and the others from the desire ROM. The apks are the original 1.5 apks so it will not add blue at all like the 2.1 icons zip found somewhere on here. It will look and work the same as now just different icons.
Download put on root of sdcard and flash from recovery. Nandroid backup Before just incase blah blah blah

Here is a zip of the desire and 2.1 icons at 48x48 as most are 72x72 normally
This is not an update.zip file and cannot be flashed it is only the icon.png files for anyone that does not know do not try to flash it.

ok so there is a link for a flashable zip for the icons I made really fast they are built off of fresh 1.1 so if you use it you will have the blue highlites (I personally like them) and then I am adding a NON FLASHABLE zip of just the icons for those that want to do it them selves.
Flashable update zip here
Here is my first try and theming swype. Iam using it with the swype apk thats floating aroung in here. The only part that i havent been able to figure out how to change is the actualy tracing line on the screen, its still in the default blue color but i would love to know how to change its color.

It's a morph that will only work with the free version of metamorph since it only has a .thm file.
Thanks, just unzip the contents into your android themes folder and install with metamorph

it Works fine.all you need to do its change the input back to swype because changing the theme causes it to switch to the android default keyboard. Did You unzip the contents and install using the metamorph theme file? In your sdcard you should have android themes/swype_black_n_blue/ then inside you should see the .thm file and folder. Are you guys also using the swype that was floating around here?
I'm using the actual Swype Beta, and I had originally just tried it from the .zip. When I extract it to Android themes and try to load it from the existing themes(even after replacing it) MM says "the target systems/app/com.swype.android.inputmethod.apk does not exist, skipping"

Its because metamorph only works in system/app/ atm so u have to push your swype.apk to that folder.
Yeah, I didn't take the route of pushing the apk back into the phone. Kinda sucks no one has got it working.
Re: Swype Theme
Works fine for me. Just push swype to /system/app and it works without a hitch. Looks great! Can I request a buuf theme?
Glad to hear out works for you. Buff theme? Dont really know what that is, lol
It would end up looking something like this:
That's the Buuf themed HTC_IME that gIMpSTa made. Buuf is a pretty popular theme theme that can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=574139
Good job, I'm working on a black and white theme so the keys are all black with white letters. I will prob just have it as a apk to install but meta morph might be my 2nd attempt at other colors...keep up the good work!
works great. had to remove the folder nesting though.
how about HTC's keyboard look?
The buff theme looks real cool, ill go ahead and work on that tonight, as for the htc theme ill also put that on my list. Does anyone care to try and figure out how to change the color of the tracing line? i figure that its in one of the xml files but iam having a hard time accessing them.

I dont understand, what do you mean by moving the apk to system/app. all you need to do is unzip the file into your androidthemes folder then apply the .thm file using metamorph. then your all set.
Hey guys, coming from a fascinate, we had some mods that I used and was trying out some with the Charge. These are system fonts that will show up in the menu in settings/display settings/font style.
We were flashing fonts from this thread.
They would work but we couldn't figure out how to get them to show up in the font style menu.
The credit goes out to thatdudebutch.
He made these apks and flashable zip to install, but when I tried it, my phone soft bricked. Not sure why, the pathway was correct, but just didn't work.
So, I just took out the meta-inf folder rezipped them, so there are about 70 font.apks in it. I can't believe they charge like a dollar for each font when you hit the "get fonts online" button.
To install, unzip the file and move the whole bunch to the data/app folder. They DO NOT go into the system/font folder. You need to be rooted and use a file manager like root explorer. They will show up in the font style menu and you can choose which to apply.
Download the zip here
Again all credit goes to thatdudebutch.

I'm on GB 2.3.4 leak and this is what I did:
1. Go to a file explorer, FE, that will allow you to edit internal phone files I use “Root Explorer,” and that’s what I’ll be referring. REMEMBER TO BE CAREFUL IN THERE YOU COULD MESS UP YOUR PHONE IF YOU DON'T PAY ATTENTION!!!!
2. In the FE find the “sdcard” and enter
3. Now find the zip you downloaded, I put mine on the root of my SD so it is easy to find, and LONG PRESS.
4. Extract All…now this may be different if you are using another FE; i.e.,
extract to or something of the sort
5. Go to where the files have been extracted
6. Yeah they are all here….
7. Hit menu and then “Multi-select” now if you are using another FE do what
you have to select all the files you want
8. Now that you are done selecting the files you want, copy it…
9. With the files you just copied, back out of the “sdcard” to the root of the
phone and find “data”
10. Now find “app” and enter
11. Whilst in the “app” folder paste the files you always wanted…your done.
Hope this helped

No transparent is not black. But the guide there tells you how to change it. It's task that takes 5 minutes of editing in Gimp/PS (took me 5 mins in Photoshop).

I also think there must be another way. when I start the phone, the status bar is indeed black, then yes it changes to white after use. you should be able to prevent just that the color changes! I though the picture alters the change will take place anyway, and then the font color is still dark and therefore not to read

Hello I have my G2X running cyanogenmod's ICS ROM, first of all its great and I want to thank all the devs out there that made it possible.
My question is if there is a possibility to get the 4G icon back on the status bar at the top instead of the H icon? If anyone has any input I would appreciate it.
Thanks
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
Should be an easy fix. Just pull out the .png files associated with 4g, and rename them to the files associated with H. It's really easy, no unzipping or anything. Simple drag and drop.
The images are located in the SystemUI.apk/res/drawable-hdpi
The files are named something like stat_sys_data_fully_connected_h
I haven't tried this on ICS and didn't take the time to look through the xml files, but it should still be the same.
Would I be able to do that by plugging my phone into my computer and browsing for the files and replacing them? or would I need to find the icons and place them on my sd card and do it from a file explorer app on the phone?
Easiest way would just be to download the rom to your computer and then use something like winrar to explore the files and pull out the drawable-hdpi folder. Once you do that just change the names around and drag and drop back in to the rom. Flash a way.
Ive tried to unzip the ROM replace the icons and zip it back up but when I try to install it aborts the install in recovery. Any idea why? Sorry to keep at it just want to figure it out lol

So you took the pngs from an apk from a non-ICS rom and put them in the ICS SystemUI.apk?
I haven't ran ICS except for about an hour, but looking through the file it seems that ICS took out the up and down arrows to indicate the sending and receiving of data. So yours in the first picture is messed up b/c the png sizes aren't the same, looking at TarHeelTrigger's uploaded zip, he / she did it right.
On top of the png he uploaded I would take the file stat_sys_data_connected_4g.png and rename it to stat_sys_data_connected_h.png
Damn..yeah I guess thats what happened. Thanks for catching that TarHeelTrigger.
Also, one last question. Were you able to do this from your phone with a file explorer app or did you have to do it from your computer??
I just did it on my laptop with winrar. And I just reversed the "h" with the "4g". So now when you click on the h.PNG it shows a pic of the 4g icon. And when you click on the 4g.PNG it shows a pic of the h icon. And im a guy...just for the record. Lol
