the best micro sd for optimus? - LG Optimus 3D

Hi guys,i,m looking for a good micro sd 32 giga but they are very expensive, anyway which mark is the best? in ebay i can,t find some interesting offer.

lexar,mustang,sandisk...

Another question not really offtopic:
Are there a real performance gain between using a class 4 and a class 6 sdhc in a phone?
Sent from my LG-P920 using Tapatalk

i'm using a class 10 but, in a phone you can't notice any differences between class 10,6,4

I am using a class 4 32GB Sandisk.
Works fine with no problems.

Class 2 = 2mb per sec transfer rate
Class 4 = 4mb per sec transfer rate
Class 6 = 6mb per sec transfer rate
Class 10 = 10mb per sec transfer rate

Well I am using a class 4 micro sd card and bought a transcend one 32 gb for 38€ Works like a charm with out a problem. There is an app which speeds the sd card even up. Sd speed increase, search it in the market. Works great

The thing about the class system is its a MINIMUM rating. So some class 2,4,6 cards will run as fast as a class 10, but they are only guaranteed to maintain their class rating speed.
Notice the speeds I get from the internal SD on the left, my PNY 16GB CLASS 10 on the right:

Its not just BS either, I can actually achieve these speeds over USB Mass Storage mode. No more having to yank the card out and put it in a USB reader to get a decent speed, not with this phone.
It does beg the question though - how fast would modern phones be if they had decent SSDs inside instead of cheap FLASH chips? Like any computer the biggest cause of lag is waiting on IO so if they used better FLASH these things would really fly.

thanks for replays my friends
i,v got this one and hope to work fine. http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200623957615
Ok,today i,v recieved this micro sd (mustang 32 gig 10 class, i think it,s a very low quality
when I try to make videos, feel a slight click at the beginning that repeats itself after a few seconds, you think this problem depends on the memory card or phone?
any ideas?

Sandisk Mobile Ultra 16 Gb Class 4 vs Class 6

Hi guys,
After reading a Tomshardware review (bit.ly/GGwOU9) , I would like to buy one memory card for my mobile.
So after looking for it through some websites (Amazon.co.uk, mymemory.co.uk, play.com, etc), I found these two:
Sandisk 16GB Mobile Ultra Class 4
bit.ly/GSqqKs
Sandisk 16GB Mobile Ultra Class 6
bit.ly/GNTlzU
I couldn't find any reliable review comparing the performance of the second one (Class 6) versus the first one (Class 4).
Can anyone provide me a link with a good one?
Does anyone know more websites where I could buy the Class 4 one much cheaper?
Thank you!
PS: Sorry for the terrible links, but I'm not able to post the easy ones
Hi Veyront,
the class6 card ist a little bit faster than a class 4 card. You can read about it at the sandisk support here:
h t t p : / / kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1996/~/difference-between-speed-class,-uhs-speed-class,-and-speed-ratings
Sorry for the link, i cant post links outside until i got 8 posts ...
Greetz,
Robert
Thanks for your post rschle.
Well, I know the "theory" (Class X means a minimum written speed of X MB/s), so there are some memory cards that being class 4 are faster than other being class 6.
Moreover, I also read that for mobile performance is better to compare tests like "Random reads of 512 KB blocks" instead of speed transfer rates of big files.
So that was my reason for asking for a review/benchmark of those two memory cards.
I got a Sandisk Mobile Ultra 8GB Class 6, take a look on the benchmark if you interested:

I bought that exact card a couple of days ago for a couple of quid, kind of like an impulse purchase. Glad to see that it seemd actually worth some.

Now I hope my little test gave a little bit of Light from speed size...
I bought my Samsung card for about 30EUR(~37USD) @ one of my local internet stores and im freaki'n HAPPY with the speed!
At least when compared with my stock card what came with my device this new card is much much faster! and much much capacious!
This is really a comparison between class 10 and class 4. Seems you overpaid for 32GB as it can be had for $10-20.
your Samsung 32GB is only 29.2GB???? that sucks....my ADATA 32GB is 30.9GB
Is this a comparison of Price or Speed.
As we all know Class10 is faster than Class4.
Wow the Samsung looks really good, i read that class 10 cards had low 4K random R/W values but yours seems really fast on everything, sadly i couldnt find someone who sells them in my country so i bought an Adata 32GB uhs-i, no uhs in sensation so i got class 4 speeds, next i'll go Samsung for sure.
Amazing, well-written test. Thanks for your time.
Got my Samsung 32gb microSDHC card 2 weeks ago because
1. it was the cheapest 32gb class 10 card
2. it is from SAMSUNG
3. amazing writing speeds.
Very satisfied with it. I recomend it.

Depends on cluster size. Larger clusters = bit less space, but a bit more speed.
You can pick the size when you format in Windows.
This test was ment like comparison that stock card is pretty lame against new cards out thare and it is recomended to upgrade... and to see what does samsung card do against stock sandisk

issues with 32 & 64gb micro sd card

Hi! all. I intend to buy a Sandisk 32gb class 10 UHS1 rated microsd card. read on other tech forums that such UHS1 rated cards are having issues writing to the tablet regardless of formatting it to FAT32 or NTFS. only way of copying files is using a card reader instead of writing directly to the card via the tab or via the cable. is this true? Is there any thing i should look out for when i buy microsd card? some say that class 10 is not supported or not required. class 4 or class 6 is sufficient. Currently i'm using a 16gb microsd card & its working fine.
yes don't buy a class 10 card it will not work.
class 6 is fine.
Theres a big topic on these forums about it.

Nonsense, I am using a 32Gb class 10 high speed memory card without ay problems. Even when copying 4Gb & larger blu ray movies onto the card it reads & plays without any problem...
Use a memory card reader when copying large files as it's far quicker than using a usb cable.
kanej2006 - have you had success with a class 10 64 gb card?
I was told the P6800 and the class 10 - 64 gb card did not work well. that is good news if it does work.
Recently, I had similar problems with a 64 GB class 6 sd card.
Both 32 & 64gb cards should work. Recently I bought a 32gb memory card and it wouldn't format.
It appeared faulty & I returned it. Once the new card arrived, I inserted it in the phone, formatted it & it's both reading and working just fine...
Unfortunately there are quite a large amount of faulty memory cards, try replacing the card or using an alternative brand...
i am using sandsk 64g sdxc class 10 formatted with ntfs. wanna share my experience
bad experience before: copy a 5g movie file via usb kies - one sdxc dead
current procedure: take out the card. copy big size files via sdxc card reader. so far so good.
i doubt the tf slot of p6800 originally supports sdhc only.
Proof a 32Gb class 10 card works.
Ps. You need an app such as Ntfs SD to mount the card so it will read. The program requires root access.

[I9001][Q]Sandisk Ultra Class 10 microSDHC 32GB incompatible?

Hallo,
i've bought a Sandisk 32GB microSDHC and it doesn't run properly. It unmounts/vanishes after some seconds or crashes/freezes the whole OS (Android) if accessed. Same happens in CWM5/6. The card does work properly in Windows though (speed/reliable). Another Sandisk 16GB class4 works properly in the phone.
Anything known about incompatibilities regarding this card? Anyone using it without problems?

I have the same card and it is perfect on my Galaxy S
Thanks.
Anyone else with explicit confirmation on S Plus (I9001)? Seems to have a different controller.
I think it's your rom (if not using stock) because i had same problem on some rom-s

Possible.. but i had this on CWM5/6 as well. Exactly the same issues. Just vanishes with i/o error. In the end a hotswap insert completely corrupted my system partitions (/system, /data at least). The card has been returned. Looks more like a UHS first generation bug or something to me. Maybe they run it out of specs on purpose to get better benchmarks. I don't know. At least I've found other people with same experiences on Google and Amazon that occur on that Sandisk cards.
Also got same card and works fine without any errors. Maybe the sdcard voltage is set too low in kernel or rom
I have the same card and works also perfect.
Running Stock Rom and no errors.
kind regards dekker
Have you tried formatting it with android under settings>storage?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
If somebody have problems with SD Cards on Galaxy S than its Sandisk. I use Samsung SD Cards and have never any problems.
I got the same problems and after 3 months of usage the card died and I RMAed it. So be carefoul not to store any extremely valuable data.
sandisk ultra 32gb error on s4
i have galaxy s4 16gb with sandisk ultra microSD HC 32gb. after used a few hours my microSD card can't play video, can't open music or pictures thus can't delete the files. try to format it from options -> storage. it says blank sd card, but it's readable when i open it with windows7. try formatting from windows7 but the problems occured again after a few hours ( seems the problems occured when i tries to play large HD video clip, about 1920 x 1080 pxl video resolution ). is this error caused by sandisk or my galaxy s4 can't work with 32gb card ?
Problem is that Windows doesn't format SD cards properly, just good enough for its own purposes. Download the SD formatter from the SD consortium, and then do a full wipe. Your card now is really formatted as it should, and try again on your phone
Not necessary, I had similair issues as the OP and according to HD Tune my SD was heavely damaged..

Specs & Benchmark data w/ pictures for the LG/Sandisk 200GB Micro SD Card

You guys asked for it, so here it is:

Of course all images are screenshots from my V10, VS990. All apps are the properties of their respective owners and are used for purposes of benchmark/information gathering only on my personal device.
The SD card is unformatted and unedited. All I did was insert it into the phone and start running tests on it. It is exactly how it came from factory with none of my personal data on it.

Class 10.
Has a little 10 with a circle around it on the card itself.
There's a few other reports for performance on the last few pages of the other thread for those people getting the bonus pack stuff in case anyone is interested:
LG V10 FREE Battery, Charger & 200GB SD Card
And yes it's just a Class 10 card, nothing to write home about, nothing really special save for the massive amount of space and the fact that it's free if you sign(ed) up to get that bonus pack after a V10 purchase - it's fast enough for 4K recording as well even as the max bitrate which works out to about 8MB/s for writes (buffered in the V10's system RAM ahead of the microSD card writes).
I have the AT&T version of the V10. It has issues with letting you write to the microSD Card unless you write to "storage/external_SD/Android/Data/". That being said, I used the app "A1 SD Bench" and got the following:
LG*H900*1m*ago
1.44 GHz ·*v5.1.1*· Accurate benchmark
187,714MB*External SD card*·
SanDisk
...........................................................................R:72.96MB/s

A fix for those people who are having problems writing to the microSD Card (as mentioned above). Put the card in a PC and right click on it. "Rename" it or go into properties and "Label" it. On one card I had to format "exFat" & label it.
Sent from an AT&T LG V10
got mine.. videos and pics load near instantly! I'm lovin it!
I use FDE to encrypt the device storage as well as the SD card. Here is the before and after:
