there is a new update release for Nexus One FRF72 now i know if you been using custom rom with 2.2 it runs Nexus One FRF50, now can this be used for custom roms ?

Great news

i have installed it some hours ago
not hard to do:
remove boot.img and kernel module, recovery , build.prop
tune the updater-script, remove version check (first line) remove patching of previous files, remove file permission (last line)
if some one want to try i have 2 zip update, 1st update to FRF72 2nd restore root (i forgot to remove permission on the first update)
above patches is only tested in my vanilla FRF50

can i try it with defrost 1.0? and are their any differences between the old 2.2 and the newer version?

richard moved some app to data, i think it didnt work

sorry, no. i'm using atm a self created rom based on mcr 3.1. i think i'll wait until monday. then paul is realising a new froyo port. excuse my bad english

update before patching check all file version, if just 1 file is missing or differ update process do not start

apply:
1) vX-vanilla-signed.zip
2) framework-vanilla-signed.zip
2) frf72-desire-signed.zip
3) frf72-desire-root-signed.zip
after update system still report FRF50 but this is only cosmetic, my patch don't touch build.prop
frf72-desire-root-signed.zip is the cyanogen root for FRF50, without nexus kernel

Failed for me : seems that some signature for AccountAndSyncSettings are not matching (c50dc... versus 4565a...)

Got it from one of my chinese friends.
I was trying it on the 3.12x ROM and it failed. At the moment I don't know exactly which is the base version but I guess within this thread there will come an solution for this question.

Download & check. It's almost patches inside. And I guess the base is 2.50.707 for it. But at the moment I have no chance to test. Will take 2 or 3 hours until I'm home again.

why don't u extract the rom and simply work on it?

this rom is the 2.50.707.4 CL91002 release-keys (from version.txt)

Because you need this ROM:
htc_asia_wwe/htc_ace/ace:2.3.5/GRJ90/228204.4:user/release-keys
or
htc_asia_wwe/htc_ace/ace:2.3.3/GRI40/83346.4:user/release-keys
as base for this update.
And currently I have no clue which ROM is required for this update. Again, this it not a real ROM. This is just the UPDATE for an ROM.

got your point now....my suggestion is to let this update go..it's just another sense 3 and also a branded one...every sense 3.5 is better than this..

Rename this file to "update.zip" store it on your SDCard and go to recovery.

I think they (ppl in asia) got it as an OTA update (as early as 3rd of September 2011).

No it originally Ruu desire hd 2.37.707.3 and get ota update to 2.50.707.4 and get ota update again with 3.13.707.4....... if you want you can try this

Quick guide:
1. Connect cable to computer and turn device on while holding down Volume Up. Screen will stay off, but USB will come on.

The way I did it was restore to stock 9.2.1.17, used vipermod 4.5 to root, installed OTA Root Keeper, backed up su, updated to 9.2.1.21, and restored su. I don't think their is a method to root 9.2.1.21 directly yet

Seems to be the same as the one in the .17 folder so probably a mistake.
Using authors link and the mirror to .21 so will see if they are the same.

I've renamed it to 21 it's the 21 but gavei it the wrong name

If one were to attempt to inject this rom in with an ubuntu install what file would I rename to boot.img?
Obviously the blob.APP is getting renamed as system.img I am thinking it's the blob.ebt but it doesn't seem the right size nor does it seem to work.
Any suggestions appreciated!

I don't think so. you can flash .17 root it and then with ota rootkeeper installed, apply the ota update to .21.

Read where many are NOT getting root with rootkeeper after going to .21 from .17 so be careful! AFAIK .21 plugs previous root exploit holes.

I wonder how long it takes until there is a pre-rooted flashable ROM available. So glad they are updating this phone quickly.

I used the trick of clearing Google Application Framework. Worked like a charm! I'm pulling the OTA file now before I update.

Try to pull the zip file if you can. I think you can flash it with the stock recovery.

So I got the update OTA on my T-Mobile GS4 running the rom from this thread.
Anyone know what will happen if I update? I don't know if I'll lose root, recovery, etc.

I'm a noob when it comes to using command line. I checked the /cache folder after logging into to SU. But not sure where to go from there.
list shows:
lost+found
recovery
and there doesn't appear to be anything in the recovery folder, and not this is in lost+found:

I am on a Google Edition I9505G, I reverted back to stock recovery and was able to flash this just fine. Your mileage may vary if you do not have a GT-I9505G. It may turn your device into a lawnmower...I just dunno.

I'll inspect when I get home. The ATT and I9505 are pretty much the same. I've been running I9505 GE ROM without issue for a bit while. If its just a kernel and system update then it should be fine. We will see shortly.

Can you still get the OTA if you are rooted? I've cleared Google Service Framework but I'm still not getting it.

Haven't noticed it mentioned on any websites yet, but a notable change is with cover view, we reverted from thin font time to Google favored fat hours & skinny minutes. Yuck.

You have to install this apk. You don't need to install it as system app or to delete the old launcher, just to have this normally installed near your Launcher.

Since 4.4 sms are in the Hangouts app. But I donno if it will working with n7, I havent tried the ROM yet, just share the link.

Flashed with n7 toolkit. Downloaded .tar to PC and placed it in the n7 toolkit backup folder. Started the toolkit chose "99", then option to flash factory image - unsure of option number at the moment. Used wildcard input for image then followed prompting. Yes it did a full format of data. No problems aware of.

It's not part of the factory image. It was the same case with JB. You need to wait for rom developers to enable it in custom roms.
