Bought this last night:
ZAGG - InvisibleSHIELD for HTC myTouch 4G Mobile Phones - Clear
Model: HTCMYTOU4GS
Verified that it works just fine on the myTouch 4G Slide.
i'm sure it's almost a "duh" piece of information, but for those of us that got the phone early and are trying to protect the screens, i hope it helps

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good screen protector?
If it's the same size as the regular MT4G, I recommend the Realook ones
http://www.amazon.com/T-Mobile-MyTouch-Protector-Crystal-REALOOK/dp/B0049SWJ08
it is absolutely fantastic. I have had it on my MT4G for almost a year now and it doesn't have one scratch on it, and it's very smooth.

Nice find, I do need some replacement protectors, the MT4GS's screen is just .1" smaller making it 3.7, but the protectors should still fit pretty good.
Does it matter if the screen protector is covering the proximity/light sensor thing on the left of the phone?
I thought I read that the MTS4G has gorilla glass.

That would be the Sensation 4G, not the 4G slide.
The Realook myTouch4G screen protector doesn't fit the myTouch4G Slide perfectly. It's about a mm too wide. Cut off 1mm and it fits really well, but it's also not really long enough, it doesn't go all the way from the top bezel to the buttons.

I got a nifty 10-pack of cuttable screen protectors from T-Mobile. $15.00. Cheaper than two pre-cut screens. They come with grid markers so cutting is as easy as tracing a line already drawn.

I have to say, these are the worst screen protectors I have ever applied on any sort of electronic equipment. Picture quality looks like garbage and it feels horrible. The matte finish makes them feel gritty and a pain to use the phone. Cheap eBay screen protectors work better.
Anybody else used them?
I bought them. I'm stupid for doing so. Rocking the Zagg now. I guess I feel smarter...
Yeah. I never bought them. I received the Fascinate in a trade and the person included an extra. At first I thought they were just horrible at applying screen protectors but then I applied the spare and it looked exactly the same. :/
My friends all have Verizon Screen Proctectors for their phones, and I have to agree, they look like complete crap. I've just been recommending Steinheil and Reallook to them, and they ask why, and I show them my screen. Almost invisible, its like the screen protector isn't even there, and my friends are shocked.

Zagg is worth it. Really is an "invisible" shield. Can't even tell it's there.
Sent from my Supersonic Desire HD using XDA App
Ehh, Zagg is ok. Really comes down to personal preference, but Zagg's matte look and feel isn't really what I would want in a screen protector. Steinheil's Ultra Crystal Clear Protector is amazing.
The Anti-glare screen protectors are garbage no matter where you get them from. I ordered some from ebay and LUCKILY I ordered some regular screen protectors as well and after about 5 mins with the anti-glare I took it off and trashed it and the others and put a regular one on.
Also, the mirror finish screen protectors are bad too
Yeah. That whole matte feel is not my deal. Honestly, cheap eBay screen protectors have been fine.for me with a perfect application and I am very picky about this stuff. I use invisible shields for their body shields though
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Agreed bought them when I had my Droid x and have to say "anti glare" is deffinately just a marketing ploy. If you take them back and tell them their crap they will give you a refund. That's what I did. I only reteerned two
OMG yes! Worst purchase I have ever made.

I too dont have a screen protector on mine even though i bought some and have them sitting in the desk..for some reason i think they will interfere with the sensitvity of the screen.
i made the mistake of buying two packs of verizon's screen protectors when i bought my phone. they were on clearance and i know why after trying one. they were horrible. i was reluctant to buy them even being on clearance after having sensitivity issues on my Rogue, but i figured if nothing else it would protect my screen until my online order of protectors showed up.
i use screen protectors that i bought off some random seller on ebay and they work fine. i get about 5 months or so of use from each one. very clear and no sensitivity issues. i dont know how necessary protectors are with the particular glass on Fascinates but i dont want to learn the hard way. i forget the protector is on there most of the time.

Exactly! But does everyone know that the Fascinate comes with Gorilla Glass, which is way tougher and scratch resistant? I am using mine "naked" so far, and no scratches yet.
So the screen looks great!
Anybody had any bad experiences going naked? (should I reword that? I don't want to hijack this thread!) Just looking for warnings about not using a screen protector.

All I can say is that I received my Fascinate used and there was a scratch on it, on the glass but to the side of the screen. Very light, but it was there. Screen protectors just give me a peace of mind hah.

I'm actually considering taking mine off, although the girl at Verizon actually did a good job of putting it on and mine is clear so I can't even really tell that it's there. But I definitely have more scratches on the screen protector than on the area around it (yay Gorilla Glass) and I'm wondering if the screen protector collects more fingerprints than the glass. Anyone know about that? I know some phones have oleophobic coatings but I'm not sure if the Fascinate is one of them.

The fascinate is not one of them, at least from my research.
I have thought about going naked. I am using the Steinheil Anti-fingerprint protectors for a number of reasons. I am sure no one here would like them because they degrade the screen quality but I love them. No finger prints, no glare, 2x faster finger motions (heh yea) across the protector vs. the stock screen.
I'd image that the screen is much like a car windscreen. It will look great for years to come but over time fine micro scratches will build up.
the screen protector they put on my phone came off by the time i got home from the store. heat must have warped it, and would no longer stick. ordered a different one online

Not easily scratched.
The screen protector takes away from the beautiful viewing of the screen and (I don't care what anyone says) lessens the touch screen responsiveness.
I had a screen protector on my HD2 for a while, and have not been happier since removing it. And I've had Invisibleshield, BodyGuardz and BSG. They all lessen the experience. Since removing the screen protector on my HD2, I have not had a single scratch. And that's after 3 months or less with the screen protector on and 9 months or more with it off.
And what the HD2 has is not as good as what the Sensation will have in Gorilla Glass.
Don't use lame screen protectors man...
I used them on my HD2 like Darnell_Chat_TN for like 3months. Now almost 8 months later I still have 0 scratches on my naked HD2. You just need to look out if you put it in your pocket with keys etc.
I've got a Thunderbolt which is said to have gorilla glass, but some users are still reporting the glass to be getting scratched. There are some very clear screen protectors which you wont even notice on. I recommend you place a screen protector on. Realook is what I've got on mine.
Well I never knew it, but the HTC HD2 does have Gorilla Glass. No wonder the screen is so strong.
No screen protector for me and loving it . Now I know I won't use one on the Sensation after seeing the difference with my HD2!
I think the screen protector on my G2x is one reason I didn't see the brilliance of the IPS/LED screen as much as it was hyped. Had one on my Nexus One before I had the screen replaced for the first time (dust, still a problem).
My wife's Nexus One has endured a LOT of purse-abuse and doesn't really show it. It's amazing how people can scratch these modern screens in daily use.
look in this thread at the screen protectors link. i couldnt link directly as i dont have enough posts.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054925
I am one of the people who likes to be extra careful. Besides, I've seen various types of damage inflicted on the supposedly scratchproof Gorilla Glass, and I just don't buy into the claims made by the company. More durable than conventional glass? Sure it is. Indestructible? Definitely not.
I'll definitely be slapping a screen protector on my Sensation.
+1 for a protector. I am over protective of my devices and it shows. I take the case and screen screen protector off and it's practically brand new.
I take such good care of my stuff that I have a regular clientele of friends and family who buy my old phones off me, because they tell me it's like buying the phone new.
Shouldn't be calling people lame for wanting to protect their stuff. Not everyone on these forums upgrades their phone every 6 months.
Has anyone got a screen protector on their Sensation? I'm just wondering if the bevelled screen effects it.
I use the Boxwave ClearTouch Crystal screen protector on my HD2. I tried about 4 other brands and the Boxwave works best for me. Screen is almost as vibrant with the screen protector as it is without one and the touch sensitivity is fine. It also seemed to be easier to install than the other protectors I tried.

I had my nexus one for a year without a screen protector as well and no scratches what so ever. I used my wifes phone that has a screen protector and I don't like it at all. So no screen protectors for me for this one.
I can't wait for this phone to be released!
Gorilla Glass is not 100% scratchproof ( Proven on my HD2)
well It is really hard to brake.
You can consider buying a nice sleeve for your phone .
It is in my opinion a better solution
What I mean : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ql37A-SgA3A
There is really no need for a screen protector. Care for your phone. It after all a remarkable peace of technology. Not just a toy.
Although I f you want a toy just get a Samsung.
100% Genuine plastic toy feeling.
bought a gel case with screen protector. the screen protector didnt fit. shame as the case is perfect. managed to drop phone on floor by accident outside. not a mark on the screen. will still get screen protector though.

That list says my G2 has Gorilla Glass too. It was a strong screen but it did get a small scratch. So I bought a Realook Premium Screen Protector it is truly crystal clear and responsive.
Same here, screen film also doesn't fit.

I bought the HTC screen film however the sides around the screen as its kinda lipped up would not apply correctly (bubbled up). Remove this after a few days and found a desire protector, applied it successfully, however obviously its a bit short. bought a case from ebay and it came with a protector, which covers the screen but does not go all the way to the edge, stuck on well and no apparent "bubbles". its ok quality. case is ok silicon case
The other thing I like about the screen protector I have on my HD2 (Hence my preference for screen protectors, is that the matte finish cut down the reflections on the reflective screen. That and I'm a klutz!
I am coming from a Mytouch Slide to the G2x. The MT3GS definitely needed a screen protector. I hear that the G2x has gorilla glass and doesn't need a screen protector but I saw in the T-Mo store they were selling them. Should I get one? Is it needed on the G2x? Thanks in advance!
I'm still using the one that came with the phone even though the left and right sides are missing. Its up to you if you want to get one. I definitely want to protect my phones screen.

WE GOT: Corning® Gorilla® Glass Capacitive Touchscreen
I got one for the sole purpose of anti-smudge.
Sent from my LG-P999
The anti-smudge screen protectors sold by t-mo are terrible. It actually looks like theres oil on the screen from the protector. It looks like tiny little specks of color all over the screen. I hate it and just want to tear it off lol.
Good point on the Gorilla Glass. It's shatter-resistant but not so much with scratches. I got one installed because it was close to being free.
This protector is also really good at being oleophobic (fingerprint resistant).
I'm getting one off E-bay. Gotta make sure the phone stays in great shape to retain its value, so I can think about getting the HTC Sensation when it comes out.
Martian fields for the 2x should work on the g2x. Just got mine today will post back with pictures.

I would just protect it because it can still get scratched/dented. You should get the 'XtremeGuard' protector. Its like a zagg invisible shield without the orange peel effect. Plus, its only 4.75 for a fully body . In addition to that, I have a TPU case. Oh yeah, I have OCD for keeping my tech stuff protected.

Are phantom skinz, the rubbery type of screen protectors with the orange peel? Those aren't swype friendly either...
I currently have a Phantom Skinz on my phone and it is less rubbery and much less orange peel effect than Invisible Shield protectors. But yes, it is the same "type" as the Zagg.

I hope that these fully cover the front. Kind of hard to tell from the pictures. AFAIK, no dry apply protectors cover edge to edge, including the Seidio one.
I've used this in both my vibrant and mytouch and it covered edge to edge
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
I think the problem is the fact that the screen isn't even from edge to edge (it slopes down toward the edges). I almost bought the Seidio one, but I asked them about it and they told me that it only covers the LCD section, before the slope. I'm hoping this will be the magical cover that takes care of the full front, but I'm assuming it won't (but you know they say about assuming...)

lol @ the assuming part. but I doubt it will cover the slope. All dry applied screen protectors are hard and can't bend to stick to the side.
As expected, the protector doesn't cover the full front due to the sloping edges. As c19932 said, no dry apply protector will do such, so a wet apply one will be the only solution for those wanting full front coverage.

I've used realook on other phones and been satisfied, this is no exception. I had the crap tmobile one on there, and the difference is night and day. The tmobile one makes the screen look blurry, the realook is crystal clear. Install was simple enough, and the feel is much better, like bare glass.
I ordered this as I too had one that I loved for my vibrant. It did NOT cover the full front but only the 'screen' portion. It got returned.

Hey all,
Just got this phone for my wife and we're working on properly accessorizing it. For now, we have a temporary case and what MUST be a temporary screen protector. Bought a cheapo one off eBay and it is TERRIBLE! There certainly is no glare but you know how oil on your screen causes the red, green, and blue to "pop" on a white screen? Well, this entire screen is like that and it's terrible! It's not a slight dulling of the screen. It's moreso a horrendous raping of the screen and spitting out the leftover colors - it's that bad!
I usually just default to Steinheil anti-glare screen protectors and have loved every single one! (We really want an anti-glare SP.) However, they didn't make one for this phone. Clearly, taking a stab at a random one off of eBay didn't work. So we're here asking ya'll. What's a good anti-glare one to use? Dry install, please.
Thanks!
If you can't find a screen protector for our phone, you can always find one for a bigger phone and cut it down to size.
You just have to be a little handy with an X-acto knife
I never really believed in screen protectors. The glass is resilient enough to withstand A LOT of wear and scratches
It's not that I can't find one. It's that I can't find a good one. And I would never be able to cut down a good-looking screen protector with an exacto knife, unfortunately. :-(

I know that the ones sprint has are good quality, they come in a 3 pack of sp, 2 standard and 1 antiglare for 12 bucks.
