Will any of the new updates benefit CM7? If so, is there anyway to install the updates without having to re-flash? I know the base-band is newer. I just wanted to know if anything else would further improve this ROM. Thank you.

Its very simple, OTA will NOT bring any "benefits" or improvements to CM7. It has been mentioned many times before. Give the devs some more time and im sure we will see improvements.
The updated baseband should provide some benefit to the radios.

Hi,
Just a small question. When you root a stock ROM, what happens when you click on update in the future? Will it work just fine? or, will it affect the hack?
I'm an ex-iPhone user, and with iPhone, once you jailbreak, update was no no cuz' it'd undo the hack.
I'd love to know about this for Inspire 4G. Thank you.
(P.S. the ROM I use is gtg's ROM, which is basically the stock ROM with minor tweaks).

at this point, seeing as gb will be out in about 3 weeks i would recommend that you not flash anything and wait for it. cause once you root it is a bit risky to try and update officially. you will have to unroot in order to update via lg tool. so best to wait, get the official gingerbread, have some fun with it and in the meantime a better custom gingerbread will be out so you can start flashing with that
thank you for your advice, out of curiosity,
has your device been randomly restarting ever since they added the 3d converter?

nope. my device has been stable as a rock ever since day one when i bought it. didnt have any random reboots whatsoever. And i found that although custom roms are way faster than the lg one i prefer the stock because of its stability. had a few probs with all the custom roms from a few reboots to phone freezing. no such thing on stock though
Hi Guys,
I'm hoping you knowledgeable people can point me in the right direction in updating the ROM on my Sensation.
It's currently on InsertCoin 4.0.3, Android 4.0.1, Radio 10.14.9035.01_M. I've not updated the ROM for months as last time I tried, I messed something up and I was relieved just to be able to get back to the old version. Looking at the situation today, that ROM has been merged with another team's efforts and I'm a bit confused as to how to progress.
The latest Chrome seems to have played havoc on my device, hence the need to update. Has anyone else experienced these issues? Freezing, crashing, resetting the phone.
I was interested in Cyanogen Mod, but there doesn't appear to be a stable build as yet. Which ROM should I go for?
Any help is most appreciated from this clueless chap.

Hi,
It seems from your radio that you are still on GB.
In order to update your phone's firmware to be able to use the latest CM9 ROMS,look HERE
Many thanks for the advice, I'll start with that. I'm on ICS already tho?
Thanks again
Yes you will need to update your firmweare to 3.32 for Ics roms.
Once your firmweare is updated correctly you can flash a ics ROM then. Remember gb wont run with Ics firmweare and ics wont run with gingerbread firmweare. Hope this helps some.

Hi,
Your radio number is a GB one.
That is probably what is causing your Chrome issues.
Follow the thread I gave you and update your firmware fully(which includes the radio)
Remember, when the firmware has finished,it will say update complete.
Thanks Guys, will have a look.
Many thanks malybru & realsis, your help is much appreciated.

Hi, here on xda we dont compare roms, sorry. its just taboo of the worst kind. Also please post questions in the question and answers portion of the forum, thanks and cheers.
I'll go ahead and reply with respect to the split between KitKat and Lollipop. You'll note a bunch of Lollipop-based ROMs appearing. Some have chosen to flash those, to be on the cutting edge. However, the Xposed Framework - one of the most useful customization tooks in the Android world - has not been updated to work with the "ART" (Android Run Time) and instead is only still compatible with Dalvik-based system. The developer of Xposed has indicated that he may work on updating XPosed at some point, but there is no firm commitment or timeline.
I personally will not be upgrading to Lollipop as I find that the tweaks made available by the Xposed Framework and the plethora of modules built for it, are simply too important me to lose by upgrading to what isn't all that radically different of an Android update.
But to each his own. Thought I'd give you a bit of the background.
P.S. Anything by Santod is quality work (NuSenseSix, UnSenseSix, etc). He really knows Android.
Nothing beats stock as far as stability. For newest, well, the newest official software is stock as well until VZW releases Lollipop.
Sacred cows make extra tasty steaks. That said, I'll make recommendations. I think Fluent is as reliable as the stock 4.4.4 and more so than some of the more radically tweaked 4.4.4 ROMs out there built from non-Verizon sources. NuSense is solid as well, but hasn't been updated in a while, is minimally modified, and is based on the oldest of the lollipop releases. if 4.4.4 is all you want, Clean ROM 3.0 was a solid runner for me.
If you can do your own mods then I would go with Lollipop as you don't need xposed if your looking for stable stick to 4.4.4 for now.. Make sure you upgrade your firmware before if you haven't as you r still on 4.4.2 ROM I'm taking a guess your haven't updated firmware.

What do you mean by doing your own mods? Short of coding them, I'm not sure how one would go about getting Samsung Milk to work, or cleaning up the Notification menu, or a bunch of other things that just aren't commonly built into customized ROMs. If you do know of a way to get such things working in Lollipop, do let me know - I'd then be able to make the switch!

I will be giving it to my mother as her first smartphone and I need to be confident it will work okay for her with minimal tech knowledge needed to fix any issue, can you recommend one?

Can't get much better than the stock rom that comes with it. Can't get much more stable. Why go to custom rom?

No random bluetooth, cellular and wifi driver crashes on this?
Here is the Optimized stock rom for you. You don't need computer to flash it as you can flash it via custom recovery like twrp.

None of them for me.
Try pure nexus ROM,very few app come out of the build and install only what you need.Very stable for me
Stock... You need stock ROM for this situation, it is the most stable and battery friendly and the least confusing. At least they could ask someone who has general familiarity with Android questions without going into menus on Res Remix or AICP or something that would confuse them.
The situation calls for simplicity, stability, and functionality... stock is the best choice. If you don't have your backup, look around here, there are plenty of tutorials on how to go back to stock.
Go with stock rom
I was also looking for a stable ROM for Moto G3 XT1541. Interesting to see all the recommendations here to stay with the stock ROM. My reason for considering a custom ROM was that I've stopped getting system updates: last was around June with Android patch security level 1 April 2017 so I've assumed no more updates are being issued. I'm not comfortable using a system that isn't getting security updates, so is a custom ROM the way to go?
(Hope this isn't considered thread hijacking, happy to post as new thread if so.)
Stock or LineageOS, as they don't have unnecessary customizations.
