Looks really nice...thanks for the heads-up typikal!
Wonder if it's worth that price, i don't know. I know it's not much. But it gets alot if you buy like 100 games like this for that price that's why.
I'd say it's worth it, this game feels way more polished than most gameloft games. I like it.
It's pretty good
a side scrolling platformer with enemies, shooting and reverse gravity. Also the online leaderboards help for replayability. I'm #1 in 1-8!
at 49MB... does it let you store it on the SD card?
game is very good, seems a bit laggy/stuttery scrolling to me though

It seems to default to installing on the card, which is probably why the install took longer than normal. It clocks in at 1.95mb on the phone memory

A great platformer.
Only gripe is the long loading times between levels, they should have covered it with at least a loading screen. And no analog support.

The lack of no analog support don't bather me. I couldn't even imagine mario on NES without a d-pad
Look sweet gonna check it out
i meant to post about 6 levels ago and say this game its good but 6 levels later im hooked lol

Nope, I don't see it when passing/entering levels, only when resuming a game from a fresh start. Maybe there's a problem with my phone then. It probably wouldn't be long if there was a loading screen (on my phone) to tell me it was loading.

It plays flawlessly on the Play, I just don't really like R-Type as a game. While it was ahead of the time upon its release it is still a check-point based shmup that places heavy emphasis on power-ups (which explains the checkpoints a little bit) that falls apart at the later stages due to its "one right path" approach. A lot of the bosses have safe-zones and the game makes memorization a must (I know it is a part of the genre but it is far too intrusive in R-Type) while not being nearly as dynamic as the 90's shmups you can find through emulation or even DotEmu's Raiden Fighters ports. While my views on the game aren't exactly mainstream I just wanted to throw them out there; I'm only 23 so R-Type is a bit before my time but I simply can;t get over how much better the genre has become over time whenever I play it. Regardless, it is another solid port by DotEmu.

I disagree. R-Type has much more finesse to its gameplay than Raiden: you can have autoshoot on, spam the bomb here and there, and call it a day. On R-Type, the fact that you can detach a portion of your ship (once you have the powerup), gives space to a much more tactical way of playing the game instead of smashing the "fire" button. It's a much more skill-demanding game, but I find it more rewarding because of that.
Also, R-Type has a mission mode that lets you progress as you beat each stage individually. On the Raiden Collection you must beat the game on arcade mode only, because mission mode is mostly a training mode: you can't unlock new missions that way. Besides, R-Type gives you an option to rotate the screen. On Raiden, if you wanna use the buttons of the XP you have to play with the ship moving towards the left, which is the most uncomfortable thing ever on a shmup. It's either bottom to top or left to right for me.

Oh I was just discussing the game play itself, for various reasons R-Type is the better port to our phones. One of the main things leading me to prefer mid-90's shmups is my intense hate for check-point systems but I could go on and on about the genre and its evolution since it is my favorite genre.
Now, I updated Raiden Legacy yesterday only to find that the keys no longer function on the Play during game with the exception of the D-pad. It would be a real big pain in the ass if they dropped the ability to shoot the option off through the face buttons and I would definitely recommend someone confirm one way or another before picking this game up for the Play.
Playing R-Type Delta on FPSE, one of the best shmups ever.

great game
You've made a great game. I was surprised when I realized it was actually an indie game, cause it looks very professional. Yet I think you could have made sound effects better. Anyways, if you plan on making more games, especially flash games, plz contact me I would love to publish it and make a review on my monkey games portal monkeygamesworld.com. Also I might be interested in sponsorship. good job!

Thanks for the review and I'm glad you enjoy the game! Nice to see a website dedicated to monkey games
The sound effects was made from whatever I could record/mix myself combined with free stuff from the internet, unfortunately I never had any budget to spend on it. The game was made so it also should be playable on some low end phones when it was first released in 2013. Playing too many low compressed sound effects with music at the same time was a performance issue on some devices back then, perhaps not such a big issue any more.
Cheers!
Great game !!! Very good idea and very playable.
But I notice an issue when I press on back button on device, there show up popup "Do you really want to quit?" , next press home button , and next back to the game , there are two visible popups and one of them I can't hide. Sorry for my english

Energy
Thanks for playing! I designed the game so the more quickly you collect energy the more quickly it respawns. I'm trying to figure out a way for user's to know this as it's not very intuitive.

Are you tapping the screen or holding your finger down? The bird should accelerate as long as you hold your finger down.

I downloaded the game when it came out and it's a pretty fast paced, high rush kinda game. The energy bar does go down pretty fast- but if you collect enough gems or buy them, you can totally upgrade it to last longer. I found that once I didn't have to worry about dying from no energy, the game got more fun

Pretty awesome game! I've never really played many games on my android, but definitely enjoyed the occasional candy crush. When I think of Balloon bird, I think of the rush I get when I'm dodging the balloons when simultaneously collecting gems, all the while the speed continues to accelerate with each level. The energy level dropping is a bit of an issue if you just started playing, but by the time you collect enough gems, you can get all sorts of cool upgrades!
Warning: once you get better at it, it can get addictive at times
Makes my morning commute that much better! Watch out for me in the high scores tab lol
visually the game is spot and plays really smoothly, great job man
Thanks
Thanks for the kind feedback everyone!
Cool game! )
I liked it, thank you)
Great to hear all the great feedback everyone!
Update 1.0.1
I've got some great feedback and have addressed two issues in the 1.0.1 update:
Splash screen hangs
Confusion with the Leaderboard button (thinking it's a statistics button)
The delay is due to the game loading more slowly on some devices than others. I have implemented a loading bar allowing to know the user know what's going on in the background.
I have also updated the Leaderboard button, I attached it for you to take a look!
Keep the great feedback coming!

Hyper Nova - Classic top-down Space Shooter
Download Hyper Nova FREE on Google Play
I'd like to introduce you to my new game, Hyper Nova which has been published
on Google Play. It's a top-down shooter developed in Unity for android.
In a departure from many bullet hell type games, Hyper Nova gives you a large
arsenal of weapons from the start while requiring you to keep vigilant of enemy
weapons. No tiny dot in the centre of the craft to defend. The whole ship can
take damage.
Play through the Story Mode missions to earn XP. Spend the XP to upgrade your ships
capabilities (health, shields, fire rate, special weapon durations, etc.)
Features
- 36 levels with more added over time
- Unique boss for every level
- Over 30 enemy varieties with more to come
- Challenging difficulty ramp
- Survival mode with endless waves of enemies
- Unique soundtrack for each system
Edit: Store link fixed
Edit: Screenshots were too large, downsized and added as attachments.
I'd really appreciate some feedback on the game. Good points, bad points, tweaks, fixes, overhauls. Anything that might serve to keep it improving.
A selection of the new enemies in development for 12 new levels in the next update.
Since it's been rather quiet up here for you, I just wanted to let you know that I downloaded it a few days ago and played it a couple of times in Survival mode. It's pretty good! The graphics are nice and the action is smooth on my G3. Definitely going to play some more! Wouldn't mind an option to change out of full-screen mode. Keep up the good work!
