SPB SHELL 3D in Android Market

Has the Lauch with works not with 3d

I bought this today and if you have used spb shell before (on win mob) this is very much updated and different with a lot of options.
The tablet mode option is very impressive, although difficult to read some of the text.
With regards to 3D it is NOT compatible directly with optimus, the 3d is anaglyph and you need glasses to view the 3d effect, maybe a future release will be fully compatible as this would make it a must have for our phone!
(tip: i know its expensive, you can save a couple of dollars by purchasing through Handster, you can get link from SPB website, they give 20% discount for buying at least two items, buy a second item for 1$ and they give 30 day money back guarantee)

Even £5 is a lot for a launcher this one is way over priced.

Even £5 is a lot for a launcher this one is way over priced, if I could find one working I would use it just as a protest for the price.

My last experience with SPB Shell on my i8910 was not a happy one... admittedly it was over a year ago and on a different platform/hardware but one bitten twice shy! However I was tempted by the comments on GSMarena as they make it sound like it supports the O3D. Thanks for the warning, may go and correct GSM arena on their assumptions
Edit: can't post external links yet, if you want to read their comments check out their blog site.

Do you still get refunds from Android Market ? wouldn't mind trying this out.

Yes in theory, you have 15mins for refund!
If you go to the spb site, they have option to buy through Handster, they offer discount (see tip above) and 30 day money back guarantee.

i tried that offer you suggested and its a really nice launcher, probably the best on Android, but from one nights use i find the battery drain huge.
went from 95% to 75 just overnight not being used, have done a reboot but if it carrys on with this usage i will get a refund.

Are you sure it was caused by spb as i have had no issues at all, doesn't even register on battery stats. Battery drain overnight without use is probably about 5%.
Was using LaunherPro before, did not notice any difference in battery use when i changed.

My phone was fully charged last night and by the morning it was down too 80% which I think is a joke really, not sure what the cause is, I have no email checking I look manually, no gps on , no facebook sync etc I do everything manually.
Even worse now, 2 Hours and 6 mins and its already down to 86% and the funny thing is I haven't used it since it was unplugged.
Left overnight again and its lost 38% which is way too much, this is the 3rd different Rom I have tried with the same excessive battery drain including the stock rom.

Can somebody confirm these findings. The news sites all proclaim glassfree, native support for O3D and Evo 3D (though only experimental), the press release however only says:

There's no mentioning of O3D or Evo 3D. Instead this seems to be adressed to every mobile user. But a widely available stereoscopic experience can only be achieved through anaglyphics, which is not exactely what I wanna deal with on my O3D.
As I'm not yet allowed to post links in this forum, you have to find the sources on your own

Yes that was me confirming the effect is with anaglyph ONLY. The news sites have it wrong, but hope in future they update for a glasses free experience.

I start this topic again, I'm interessted on the launcher but only if there is a 3D stereoscopic mode, the last information I found say that it support the EVO 3D only experimental. But no information about the LG optimus 3D.
Anybody can confirm this?
Thanks in advance

There is experimental support for Evo3d but does not work on O3D. I tried it, as I purchased SPB shell months ago for my Sony Xperia minipro. Updated already for last version.

Well I might be off topic here but I'm using with success Claystone Launcher which works in landscape mode and, making it with 3D game converter, give a fully functional 3D launcher.

The creator says it works on all mobile phones and looking at the g2 it looks like it would work fine. Has anyone tried it?
I've seen the vaneworks, and the onemoreface, now there's this one. Nice find. I haven't tried any of these, but they all will have the same issue (in varying degrees) with the g2. It is best explained on the compatability page of the vaneworks product. The g2 camera is a little far from the edges of the phone, so you may not get a full image.
Also, supposedly, the light is low when using smaller mirrors.
Hopefully someone will try these products and post back.

i can verify that the vainworks stand works for g2. camera is only a bit off. in camera mode...you see a little of your phone...but i can verify in video chat via tango...it just fit. i mean...i see like a 10th of an inch of my phone. cant even notice. landscape is a bit of a hassle though as the camera is more towards the middle rather than top heavy. its ok though. my girls hd2 can only do lanscape cuz her phone is right in center with regards to either edge of the phone.
also, is there a catch to this iseeu? catch.. such as camera position like the vainworks stand has? will it work with all cameras no matter what location it is on phone? it must be adjustable.
From the videos I've seen its very adjustable
@havikx:
Can you post self portrait pics taken on G2/vainworks in portrait and landscape? (see vain works compatability page for examples http://vainworks.com/compatibility-chart/). (maybe post on the vain works thread)
On the adaptability factor for all of these products, if the mirrors are "over the top" of the phone (instead of "around the side") then you will be upside down. Not sure which apps have the setting to flip the image...

i will if i can get around to it. actual performance is based on video call. i know the camera app shows a little more of the phone depending on resolution settings.
my girl uses Tango for video calling on her HD2. she has a button that supposed to flip which camera is displaying. being she only has one camera...what does this button do? flip the image.

Yes, it flips the image. I just tested this. I have 2 hd2's and tangoed between them and could flip the image sent to the other phone with that button.

it looks good but yeah i doubt you can get the full image of the camera as it is lower down
With such tiny little mirrors doesn't really seem like it could capture the full image, and what a pain to use, I imagine you would have to detach it to carry it around or use the keyboard?
But also seems like someone confirmed it doesn't work. Novel Idea

[Q] camera quality? Want to buy today online

Hey guys. Tmo has this phone online for free, but the web only offer ends today. I'd like to buy it, but just need to know about the camera quality to replace our recently lost camera. My wife will only let me get it if I assure her we won't have to buy a separate camera. This would be our first android phones, though I have an Acer iconia a500 tablet.
How is the picture quality? Is it slow to snap like some of the honeycomb tablets? Does it have a flash?
How is the video capture quality?
Can someone post a sample picture and video clip here?
As I said, the free web offer ends today, so if the camera quality is good, I want to order them tonight.
Thanks,
EB
PS. Is music playing quality good too? My wife will be using it to replace her mp3 player that just died.

What phone? Did you read the specs? Most any phone with a 5mp+ camera should take really nice photos.
Sent from my CM7 Defy using XDA App
Sorry. The t-mobile g2x. Isn't this the correct forum for that phone?
The cnet review said the picture quality didn't meet their standards. Guess I'm looking for confirmation.
Sent from my A500 using Tapatalk
An 8mp camera should give you great pictures, and it records 1080p video. You can always use 3rd party camera apps too. Sounds like a good deal if they are free, imo.
Sent from my CM7 Defy using XDA App
Th G2x camera is pretty disappointing. There are a number of threads around here discussing the issue. I don't think you should choose this phone if the camera is a real priority.
Music playing is excellent, better than most.
Thanks for the info.. I was just about to order them online, but like the saying goes.. they screw you in the drive-thru.
I was thinking the Free web-offer (exp today) with the 49.99/line for 2 lines plan was an awsome deal. However, it seems you can't get that plan online, only in the stores, and you can't get the free web offer in the store..
If want to get a new phone, the way I've found is to go and look in a store. Use one, play with it, move on to the next. Try them all if needed. Then if you can find a better deal for the one you want online, you know exactly which one to order.

No, of course not. I was just trying to help.
Carry on.
LOVE my g2x camera, it's amazing. (with the back cover off, lol)
But a few modifications to the battery cover fixed that 3:-}
For what its worth consumer reports actually rated the G2X as having the best smartphone camera.

Mine takes fantastic photos. Haven't done much with videos but the still shots are awesome considering they were taken WITH A PHONE!!! Lol
Here are a couple I've taken with mine. The 2 cloud photos were taken with my G2X and then edited on the phone with Picsay Pro.

Nice shots!
I wonder if Consumer Reports still feels the same way after the GB update.
I'm not trying to bash the phone here, I honestly think the G2x camera is flawed. On mine every still photo is kind of blurry or soft focused, and with an overall hazy tint. Video at both 1080 and 720 suffers from obvious block pixelization, the more motion in the scene the worse the image appears. I have tried cleaning the glass on both sides of my cover and observed very little difference in still images.
If I'm not mistaken there was at least one thread here where this was discussed. Also, the consensus from those who have both seems to be that the Sensation has many flaws, but it's camera provides superior images to the G2x's.
ETA:It looks like I have grease or something on the lens in this video, but I didn't. I must confess I don't remeber if I was using the GB OTA camera or the 1.5 LG cam from this forum. I can say I haven't seen any better video out of my phone since I got it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNyepSKmyuI

CS is praising the feature set of the G2x camera as much or more than anything else. Those features disappeared with the "update"

Yea I have to agree with you here. The camera app in Froyo was very nice and very useful at the same time. Too bad they didn't support it with their gingerbread release. Granted the camera app in 2.3.3 is more in line with their marketing the phone as vanilla android, but it does feel like they removed a feature, or at least downgraded it.

Ridge Racer Accelerated- HERE ya GO!!!!!

If want to get it working there are some bounty's on some other forums just search the hole app name on Google you will find them. As soon as people like (e.g Approb or Market Militia) get the raw apk you will see them bypass it and it will appear on 20 diff sites. Resident evil was a good example how fast they work.
I don't like pirates but if its the only way to get it, you don't have much choice apart from going without. If only company's would release for every device at the same time maybe they mite not lose as much to the pirates.
For example i brought MC3 from market for full price works on my play. but when i go to play it on my tablet i have to use a crack version. what is the reason for that ? Its them being lazy .
Sorry for my rant

No...no rant. Your good. I agree. I don't like the exclusive games the developers make. I wish they would just release R.E and Ridge Racer for all. I am totally happy buying these games if they bring it to everyone. I found out what you mean by militia and the other name. Found the place you probably were referring to. Either when it does get modified to work for all I will repost an updated apk unless some one beats me to it. SpeKing of beats. Tue Beats Audio is sweet.... love it. It especially sounds good on asphalt 6.

I have gotten close, but nothing I would exactly call playable, though it does run. Right now there are two very big challenges.
1. Its made for a completely different kind of chipset.
2. All graphics are in 3D, as in stereoscopic 3D.
Nothings impossible, but it will basically involve literally porting the game in its entirety. Not an easy or quick task.
wow. really
i didnt think that it was in stereoscopic 3d
that does sound like a big big challenge
hope you figure it out

Battery life help

When I first rooted my phone, I had great battery life. But I wanted more and so I tried one of the many programs on the market to control my CPU to try and get more out of it. The exact opposite happened. My battery life is now worse than when it was stock. I uninstalled hoping that would undo the changes even wiped the phone and applied the Rom again. Nothing seems to work.
Any help would be appreciated! I don't know a lot but I kno you lovely people do!

Try using Juice Defender. The free version is very good, I have not used the pay version. I get like 1.4-2x the battery life.

I don't know a lot but I kno you lovely people do!

get a 2g/3g toggle widget. i keep my phone on 2g mode most of the time, ill drop about 1% an hour
There is a thread on calibrating your battery if you search. What I do is let battery fully die then fully charge your phone to 100% then let it go a few minutes past that like 15 minutes. Using root explorer go into folders: data - system and delete batterystat.bin file. Phone should then calibrate to what a full charge is when you unplug it. See if you get better results like I do. I also like to delete batterystat.bin before I let phone fully die. But my steps may be overkill.

Definitely calibrate the battery...I always do that after flashing a rom....give it a few days to soak in as well....also you could try undervolting your kernel.Search for a guide on how to do it...varies with different kernels...I recommend Killer Sloths scripts....worked well for me

first, there are many threads about this so, there was not necessary to open a new one. Anyway, if you are using a custom rom, those have usually been overclocked and undervolted in their scripts so theres no need for you to use any apps. In fact, using any app would eventually conflict with the rom itself. So, what I would suggest is that you read what your rom changelog states and see if your rom has tweaks for the battery.
Also, If youre flashing, you should have recovery which allows for battery stat wipe in the advanced menu. Follow reinaldos method and use recovery to wipe stats. Same result, slightly more (average)user friendly. IMHO

This is all misinformation, period.
http://www.androidcentral.com/wiping-battery-stats-doesnt-improve-battery-life-says-google-engineer
To the OP, it's highly possible that your battery is failing. Either order a replacement like an Anker or call #at&greed and get an OEM replacement sent at no cost. When you pull your battery, if it's buldging on the large surface(s), it's failing.

Lets start off by saying that this situation is a back and forth banter.
I can also say that your post about misinformation, is misinformation, and supply a link to another website with a short write-up... watch
http://lifehacker.com/5786717/get-b...ted-android-phone-by-wiping-its-battery-stats
See its just that easy.
Negating anyone and calling them misinformed is selfish and egotistical, based on half of the story.
If this process works for so many of us (AND IT WORKS FOR ME), why disregard our opinions? IM my opinion this process works. I have used it every now and then, and my battery performs the same if not better than a factory, non-conditioned stock battery. Why are my battery and others who use this method, providing first hand testimony to its validity?
On your other note about failing batteries, thank you for that information. I didnt know about that, and I think this kind of input was necessary in this case.
IMO
Edit: All batteries lose their ability to charge and hold charge over time. Conditions like heat, moisture, etc. will all effect your battery, and all batteries will need replacement eventually.

I agree with you completely! There is no doubt after seeing his green recovery picture on the article page, I knew that it was an older article. The "age" of "information" does not mean its less true though... just saying. I mean I know that information about concrete facts used today in education are not any less valid than when discovered. The world is still round, and aliens still dont exist? Or do they?
EDIT: Obtaining a replacement battery was as easy as TX said. CONFIRMED. Took only a few mins on att warranty chat, FYI.
This thread is all kinds of useful. Calling at&t for a battery tomm.

What really has worked for me is this:

Since I ran that script and the die-hard battery calibration, I am experiencing great battery life.

No, your link for posterity is complete misinformation based on a theory developed by who knows.
My link came straight from teh proverbial horses mouth. When you're able to unequivocally refute the info given by the OS Developers, then we can talk.

I get great battery life on just stock rooted ROM/Kernel. No OC/UV at all. All bloatware removed.

Nope, the reason why I mentioned it was to inform my buddy cjb056 that he doesn't have to do OC/UV or flash ROMs to achieve great battery life, after all that's what he is asking about.
your post is worthless. you dont show usage, you dont show running tasks, signal, wifi. AND you charged it back midway through. But thanks for telling your story, tell it again bro. Also being this is a development site, no one gives a rats rump about what the phone does as stock.

At&t flex2 h950

Just picked up the flex2 from at&t at lunch today. So far its been performing great, at least when comparing to my nexus 5 on 5.1. Did not experience any lag so far like some early reviews suggest. Not sure if the 3gb ram helps here. Will report more on battery later.
Same. Battery life is my only concern. I feel like I won't be able to make it through the day anymore. It's 11:30am (I've been up 3 hours), and I'm at 62%. It's exactly what I predicted would happen in my post a few months ago (Link).
But as far as performance, this thing is rocking.

I understand a lot of the newer phones aren't showing up on AnTuTu yet, so I don't know the comparison with the M9, Z4, S6, G4, or P8M.
Mine is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. I have a few things for you guys to check out. 1) any screen ghosting like on the first gen g flex. 2) is there any carrier I.q.?

Screen ghosting: No, burnt images no longer show up like they did on the first gen.
Carrier IQ: This is new to me, however, in the list of packages there is a "LADDM 5.0.1-H95010d". I also just did some research on it. I download 3C Toolbox and it definitely has carrieriq.
No ghosting at all. And the performance has been superb. One thing I noticed though is the screen brightness range being quite limited. Its not bright enough under sunlight and not dim enough at night. Screen in most lighting condition is great and vivid though with some noticeable grainy areas. And smart screen feature is not included (the phone stays awake as the front camera detects your face). Not a deal breaker but nice to have feature.
Battery life is great for me. I started my day at 7am and ended up 65% coming home at 6pm with 1.5hr screen on time. I am a light user with occasional YouTube and play music stream, and some email checking web browsing. Connected to my moto360 all the time. No GPS no Wi-Fi just lte. I know the battery life depends much on personal usage, and for me it is great and I'm going to keep my phone (was thinking about switching to the s6 edge).
One big plus is the quick charge 2.0. Boy it does charge fast, and I think it's the one feature I can't live without moving forward.
That's good to hear. Mine should be delivered in about 12 hours from now and I am sending my nexus 6 back. I am on my 4th warranty replacement , seems moto does not do a very good job refurbishing phones. Looking forward to getting back to lg.

US Default Applications AT&T H950
Is it at all possible for someone in this thread to help me in discovering which app I have deleted on accident with the AT&T Variant H950. I am unsure as to exactly why I have no data any longer but I'm sure it is because I have deleted a specific app that is needed in order to access the ATT Data as well as do any kind of call forwarding as well. Perhaps someone here in the thread can post a list of their exact applications so I can find out exactly what it is that I am missing. I have called AT&T about the issue and they are currently investigating the matters but If it is something I can figure out without help I would be much happier without the 90 minutes of wait time. Thank YOU!!
Re: H950 stock Firmware
I have searched the threads here and can't seem to find the ATT H950 firmware files anywhere. Does anyone have a link to the files needed to go back to stock?
There is none available at this time.
