Question for PPL with Android Experience

I have a HTC Touch Cruise and it is dreadfully slow. I was waiting for the X10 from Sony and thought that would be the new phone I will go with. First it is large, beautiful screen and fast. Secondly, it is on Android which I hope is better than WinMo.
However, a colleague just showed me his iPhone and it is sweet. I never really played with one before because I do not like apple's prison policy, but looking at this it is nice:
* FAST - it runs fast
* Plays movies and music beautifully
* Controlls his popcorn device remotely.
* Accesses his QNAP NAS wirelessly to stream movies and music
* The games he has are GREAT for himself and the kids (Risk, air hockey, monopoly, fighting and shooting, etc)
* The video podcasts and the TV shows he can watch is nice way to spend your traveling time
Even though I dislike the apple prison and the lack of multi-tasking in the devices, they look great and are full of features.
Since I do not have an android device yet, I cannot really see the Android marketplace to see what they have available - cuz the webpage does not show much .
I know not all companies have software for android yet ( For example, OptionTrading/Stockbrokers - ThinkorSwim.com & Audiobooks - Audbile.com), but is the rest just as possible with Android Phones?
But how much can the new Androids do? How many applications are already out there for them?
Does Android sych with iTunes?

[Q] Music Creation?

Guys & Girls,
I have been busy building my first 3D game for the Desire HD, Galaxy etc - but I am in desperate need of some good quality oldskool game music - I want an old Great Giana Sisters style. Does anyone know where I can gain access to free to use music files that have a definite game style to them?
Or does anyone feel like making some - my app will be released on the market for a whole £0.99p but I don't foresee it selling to well - not many children have £500 handsets yet and the game has been developed for my children who are 4 and 7...
Thanks for any advice,
r3v3rb
Check out www . freesound . org and www . ccmixter . org. Both songs and sounds.
(It may be you've heard about them both and they're not what you're looking for; I heard about these only yesterday.)

Remote Play from PC,Gamecube,PS2...etc to android?

Hello, I've been looking for a way to do this for months but haven't had any success, so I decided to finally post my question here.
The PSP has a homebrew app called PSPdisp , that could remote to a PC in real-time, lag free. http://www.jjs.at/software/pspdisp.html
Is there any way to get something like this in android where we can view and control our games from the EVO without lag or stutter? I'm sure we have the speeds to do it Evo's 4G speeds are about 8Mbps on average (in my area), and my home connection is 16Mbps
This would be great for playing emus not available or not capable of running on android.
I don't know how hard this is to accomplish, looks like a very fast vnc server to me.

Not exactly mobile cloud gaming, even though we aren't too far from that either (see Onlive)
Something more like StreamMyGame, I want to have my PC running a emu, lets say dolphin running Legend of Zelda WindWaker, while VNC'ing (if thats a word) to it over the great interntz to the SuperSonic or Xoom. You know it just streaming video to me and me sending it commands with every button press.
Heres a vid on some of its features http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZd3h...layer_embedded
I'd even be willing to commission or "donate" to someone to port the homebrew app to android if its allowed on these forums. The source is available.
Glad you took my advice and posted this in here buddy. I'm bumping this for you since I'm interested as well.

I doubt if lag free mobile streaming will be produced within the near future
Am using Teamviewer for other stuff though and that piece of dontmakemesayit is the most stable one I've found. Lags like hell and sometimes there is like 5-10 second delays before the screen updates, but at least it doesn't crash or lose connection completely
Yes, I have tried just about every Remote Desktoping tool in the market I can think of, but none are fast enough, I think the psp homebrew works because the dev made a video card driver that mirrors/clones the screen to the psp.
...I hope some great dev answers this call...
I'm looking for this too. PSPDisp is really great. I hope something similar like PSPDisp go to our android. Playing PC Games or other consoles emulator(Dreamcast, PS2, Gamecube) on android sounds fun
I just wish they made a ps2 emu for android. I just want to run vns on it so I really do not need a lot of power...

[Q]how to rotate sgs2 screen landscape(permantly)for all apps/games away from hot cpu

I would like to know if there is an app or maybe dev can make a rom that will allow sgs2 (android) phone user to able to rotate left to landscape away from holding the back where the cpu is when it gets extremely hot when u browser the internet using dolphine hd or playing hd games for 30mins+ ..if u got a sgs2 phone u know what i mean.
example, when u playing samuria II vengence (using chainfire3d - nvida or powervr mode works 100%) holding the phone landscape sgs2 default landscape (rotate right mode) where ur left-hand is placed near the cpu/camera it will start to get really hot after 20mins+ play, but if u rotate/flip the phone around (only this game allow to orientated perfectly) ur hands r placed perfectly away from the cpu/camera which allow u to play long period without heat issue n the heat/cpu/camera r not covered by ur hands allowing the cpu to heat/cool in free air.
I have search all over the internet n has not come to any apps that will allow permantly rotate to that landscape view..the closest apps was control rotate but its only for text/browser net, but won't allow permantly for games.
anyone can help pls pm me or reply are welcome or ppl have similair problem or been searching every for an answer also welcome to add coments. i'm sure alot of sgs2 phone user know what im talking about. samsung has not thought about this before they make this phone about cpu heat issue, but can be easily fix with an opposite/flip landscape rotation left mode default lock. nokia n95 8gb allow all games to freely rotate which ever way the user wishes to..if only someone can fix this problem with the sgs2.
list of sgs2 games that will not rotate left/flip the default landscape view over even with auto rotation on (away from cpu when u are playing for 20-30min) [hand not over cpu/camera] are:
backstab (chainfire3d - qualcom mode works 100%)
spiderman hd
golf hd
golf 2 hd
hawx hd
splinter cell hd
modern combat hd
guerrillabob
avatar hd
real football 2011 hd
dungeon hunter 1 and 2 hd
assassin creed hd
hero of sparta hd
asphalt 6 hd
gt racing hd
gangstar hd
fishing kings hd
need for speed shift (chainfire3d - powervr mode works 100%)
....and many others
I have used all roms to test this problem but they do not rotate to that mode away from cpu or or fix the heat problem after 15min-30mins+ game play. i'm using latest litening' rom v1.5 thx to litepro, could someone please post this on his forum since i don't have enough post due to new member requirement. This way he could come up with a solution to his next rom version and i think it's a great idea, i'm sure all sgs2 phone owner would like this heat issue to go away or away from their hands/fingers when surfing net with dolphine hd or all those games i mentioned above with such an easy fix screen rotate left/flip lock opposite to cpu/camera when u use it for more than 15-20mins+.
thanks.
From the limited android dev experience I have, I don't think it's possible since the orientation is hardcoded into the app itself. A custom rom might be able to do it, but that would take quite some hacking.

Samsung galaxy note

hello guys ! i have a samsung galaxy note GT N7000 phone . pre-installed with 2.3.5 gingerbread android system .
since the the processor of galaxy note is quite fast , and has the capabilities to run many HD games . therefore i tried my hand at few of them like real football 2012 , stick cricket , GTA III for android , these games actually installed and run properly, and there was no such issue , later on i tried fifa 12 , NFS hot pursuit for android , (both of them are compatible with my device , galaxy note is too good for them ) but unfortunately i failed to play both of the above mentioned games properly , they both got installed without any problem or error , but when i RUN them , i can't see the graphics clearly , in fifa , there is a game crash at times and so far am not able to play the game , and in NFS i can't see my own car the road ! it's all WHITE SCREEN. then i sent the message to one of the uploader of the torrent and he said maybe my android version is not able to match the game compatibility , otherwise the game would run nicely !
do you think this could be the issue ? and if you think i need a android OS update please suggest a good link , and mention the steps involved , your help be appreciated ! i also wish to run the HD games like other players who have uploaded their videos of samsung note on youtube

The white screen issue is common...
PS : dont mention torrents over here..
Try rooting and installing chainfire3d.Then download all three plugins(NVidia and rest 2 i don't remember) and install and use the nvidia plugin.Run your games then.MAYBE those issues will be gone.
Maybe you should try to update to the latest Android? Try the last version of stock ROM available in development section on this forum.
Cheers
OK, Your problem is solved First you need to be rooted and than install chainfire 3D, install the plugins (search for it in Google you get em) which would be Nvedia,PowerVR and Qualcomm.and after installing the plugins select Qualcomm as the default OpenGl settings...and...you're done both Fifa and NFS Hot persuit should run smoothly as I'm pretty much convinced you've installed the xperia Play version of the Games and xperia play uses qualcomm chipset
PS: NFS Hot Persuit already tested with the Qualcomm plugin with Chainfire 3D and it works flawlessly and had Fifa12 been the galaxy note version it should've worked straightaway flawlessly as it does in my Note.so...do as I have mentioned above. Cheers
