camera sound on/off - T-Mobile LG G2x

I don't see a setting to turn off the camera/video notification sound. Anyway to shut it off on the Ginger Bread update?

Not that I know of. Try lowering the Media Volume that used to do the trick on my HTC G2. On this camera app however there is no option for that. One more thing I am missing from the LG Camera App

We need that for secret pictures. SHhhh....

Same here...I enabled it and it doesn't lock....anyone figured this out yet?
I experienced the same result I enabled the sound and no sound!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Try a batter pull. (hard restart)
Maybe that will fix it.
Mine has worked since day 1 though...
I just tested mine, and mine works. No reset needed.
I used the 'volume controls' setting in the My Settings app from the market to change the system volume from 2/7 to 7/7. Before, you could kind of here something, after, you can definitely hear it.
Mine makes the sound.

Camera bug

Does anyone else have this issue? Since my upgrade to gingerbread on a completely stock phone, whenever I exit my camera my screen brightness turns all the way down until I lock and unlock my screen.... Any fix??

I haven't experienced this yet. Try installing the LG Cam.

It's no fix, but an easy way to figure out a little more would be to use the stock power console widget and set it to it's brightest setting. A before and after might tell you whether the camera is adjusting the current brightness setting or toggling something else.
It is only when auto brightness is on. I'm using launcher pro as well. Can anyone duplicate this?

No. Mine is completely stock Gingerbread V21e, including the stock launcher; I'm using auto-brightness, and I don't have that problem.
Ok what is really weird is I removed the default for launcher pro to try the stock launcher, and it didn't happen. I now tried again with launcher pro and it went away. This has been plaguing me since I upgraded 2 weeks ago, and now just vanished.... Hmmmm....

G2x is still a new phone and they're still rolling out the 2.3.3 GB update (after testing and problems and bricks) I'm sure the bugs will get worked out as the phone ages. But I'm glad to hear the problem fixed itself. If it ever continues, I'd look into replacing the phone just in case its an issue with the phone itself.
The screen auto brightens when you open the camera app and goes back to normal when you close it.

It happened to me before the update.

Camera

Using ninja 716 my camera is not working properly. The flash isn't working. I have it set on auto and it doesn't flash. I try to turn it on manuelly and it wont turn on. Anyone know why this is and how I can fix it. When I had the stock camera on it works.

It works. Sometimes, you have to hold down the button for it to turn on.
Flash isn't sensitive to light so you'll get duel LED lights and flash someones face off the picture. so, yeah.
Also, you might have issues with recording video from the Record Video app.
Instead, within the camera, click the options tab and click video, and your screen won't go black, lol. worked for me.

[Q] Random Shutter Sound

My G2X randomly makes a shutter sound while in standby. No apps are running. Last night it did it while the phone was supposedly on silent, so I turned it off, but during the week I rely on my phone as an alarm, so this won't work. Any ideas? I'm running stock rooted Gingerbread.
You don't have an app for screenshots do you? I know when I had a screenshot app it would make that sound when it completed it.

Camera

Has anybody every tried to port the htc sensaton camera I'm asking because I like the fact that it takes a instant picture meaning as soon as you touch the capture button there is no delay as with the LG camera

Not sure about porting the sensation camera but try turning off the Auto Review in the LG camera settings. It GREATLY speeds up your photo taking.
Thanks for the tip, phburks, but where is that setting? I'm not finding it (guess I need more coffee).
