so im prob like the many people out thr on cm7, which is about to be updated to 2.3.5 , and have no intention of downgrading to 2.3.3 and the OTA...my question is what pieces/drivers/baseband/kernal/etc can we see being incorporated into the custom roms out thr...in other words is anything of value in this update to the custom rom community?
Sorry if this is a repeat question but i did search b4 i posted.
i think now we can look forward for 4.0 ics. yaaaaaaa

You might want to check the forum dedicated to your specific phone model as there tend to be more users with experience for that device. My understanding is that you must use a 2.2 modem for 2.2 roms and 2.3 modems on 2.3 roms. But I am relatively new to this.
Not entirely sure on this, I'd look around often times, google is your friend!
Hi Guys,
I hope this isn't too noob a question to ask but is it a fair assumption that once HTC release the offical JB update, the modders on here who've so far released sense-based ICS roms will be able to do the same for JB?
I'm very tempted to give CM10 a daily drive but know I'll miss some of the sense bits (I know - the shame) - particularly the camera which I know is a topic done to death on here. So I'm just wondering if its purely the official release that must appear as opposed to people taking it on themselves to try integrating the framework with the base AOSP stuff?
Cheers
We need a test or official RUU from HTC that's it or just wait for the release, yes
First time I've checked forum for some weeks now. Sad to say there's hardly anything new. Have the devs upgraded their phones and moved on? I'm still using Reaper....
A special mention to BlindnDumb. Apart from CM10(still problems) and MIUI, he's the only person keeping interest in custom ROMs alive in my opinion...
Cheers...
Sure? check again, at least 5 custom roms with JB and nightly or weekly updates, same for ICS roms, official ICS RUU and of course its corresponding custom rom, new radio, new hboot... A modified Sense kernel with overclock and many other features, new hboot 7.x... Don't think Desire S scene is dead at all
Hi,
I don't know much about.. or really anything about kernals, custom rom's, or rooting phones.. However, Microsoft smartglass was just released today for the XBOX and I wanted to check it out.. The problem is it was released only to phones with ICS 4.0 or better..
I happen to have the Samsung Infuse from ATT and I'm stuck on Gingerbread.. and from what research I've done; I don't see any change ever coming from Samsung or AT&T concerning ICS...
So what I'm asking is - is there a custom ROM that I can use to access this (smart glass)? If you're not sure about that... Is there a custom ROM that replicates ICS? and is there a simple tutorial that even someones grandmother could follow and understand to accompany that ROM..
Thanks a lot.. I really hate to bother yall with this..
Search...search...and then search again...
Look in the dev section...the first two pages are gonna be 90% ICS 4.0.4 ROMs or JB 4.1.X ROMs
But again....search search and search...these ROMs require extra steps to flash...but there is a great how to by Andros in the general section for the infuse
