Remote RDP Info - Eee Pad Transformer Themes and Apps

I emailed support and asked them about video/audio streaming vs splashtop. I like splashtop because you can do all streaming very smoothly. But Remote RDP supports right click and is more connected to the computer. They said
That's because of the protocol. Microsoft just released RemoteFX which has great video support. We are working on adding RemoteFX support for now.
So, soon enough we'll get better streaming. Remote RDP is a great program and is getting better. Support is awesome too.
Just wanted to let you guys know, I use both programs, but I might just be able to use Remote RDP fully soon.

Anyone found a good UPNP client for HD2?

Pretty much as per the title really, ive been looking for ages for a decent upnp client i could run on my HD2 without success.
Thanks
I take it from the lack off replies no one had found a upnp client for windows mobile.seems a shame too not be able to steam to my phone when around the house.
Try Pocket Player from Conduits, there's a UPNP plugin available from their site. Works great, unfortunatly it is a pay app.
Upnp on HD2
aren't there any free options for Upnp on HD2?
Is it an option to enable Upnp in the Media Player that is already on the phone?
Any suggestions?
A little *bump*
still no free uPnP-client for this lovely phone?

[Q] Streaming Video

Hi All,
I'm looking for a good Streaming Video server that can be used on Android that works over cell networks (3G or 4G) and has tablet support. A giant bonus would be a server that is also a DLNA. Something with a Windows client would be pretty sweet as well. The TF will be my primary device, but I'd really like to be able to stream to my phone, laptop, and Blu-Ray player as well.
I'm currently using Plex, and it sucks. The server is buggy and laggy, doesn't find Metadata for shows unless they're named PERFECTLY, and won't show me videos that it can't find Metadata for. I will say the interface is fantastic, but it needs a lot of work.
I've read some good things about the VLC server, but it appears to not be very user friendly. While I'm technically savvy, I'd prefer to try something first that works just as well and doesn't require a difficult configuration.
Thoughts and recommendations please?

[Q] Ubuntu on our Advent

Just to be sure. Does anybody try to port the Android+Ubuntu software for our Vega? Like, when we use it, it runs Android and when its docked, it runs Ubuntu. Wouldn't that be great?
If you don't know what it is, take a look at this vid:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kipBNiBtjmQ&list=UUk1SpWNzOs4MYmr0uICEntg&index=3&feature=plcp
And I've been showing off this YouTube Video to all of my friends:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSPFpNWJvJ4
This is pretty neat!
But I think manufactuers need to contact Canonical in order to get this going, because this is integrated into linux kernel.
And for now only Motorola's devices are capable of this with webtop app.
More info here:

How about cloud computing (Windows on Vega), have you tried this yet?
Like streaming audio and video from my computer to my Vega? Yes, I've done that and it works pretty good, but when i try to connect to my pc when my Vega is connected to another internet, it streams very slowly. I'm using Splashtop
NO, cloud computing is NOT streaming media from your PC!
You did not even bother to click on my provided links?

RDP client for TF700

What is the best RDP client for my TF700?
One that i can stream video/audio to my TF700 from my computer without hickups.
I see that PocketCloud have one... that cost a bit of money if you want to use 1920x1080 resolution.
I dont mind paying if i know it works good.
PocketCloud
PocketCloud works very well.
Why not download the free version to see if you like the results? The only features the free version lacks is the ability to configure multiple servers, custom resolutions, and support for WYSE's encryption scheme.
Streaming full-motion video over RDP is going to be a tall order for any app because of the limitations of WiFi and the fact that RDP isn't optimized for that kind of full-frame rendering. Have you considered something like installing Remote Potato on the server side and using Remote Media Center on the tablet side to stream your content? There are of course other packages for streaming content such as Plex or PS3 Media Server if you prefer something not dependent on Microsoft's Media Center framework.
I'm also a fan of PocketCloud; I even bought the paid version. For video I've had a lot better luck with MediaHouse and a UPnP server on my desktop.
I have used them all and the best by far is xtralogic. It does everything using native rdp compression so it is fast, has support for remoteapp, and is as "real time" as you can get with a rdp session. I currently have several users that use their tf700 as a thin client for their primary desktop. It works very well and is highly customizable.
If you are not tech savvy, go with a different one though. It requires a real rdp connection- so it works with terminal services and gateways flawlessly. If you know how to connect to the computer that you want to through a regular windows rdp session-- this will work the exact same.
The best I have found for the video/audio streaming requirement is splashtop thd-- IF you have a recently made nvidia graphics card. Can't beat that combination.
Splashtop 2 works great.
I bought PocketCloud, works nice yes!
Google updated their Youtube application, so that works very well now too.
But i use RDP often to my servers, so i bought it anyway.
For video stored on my server i found a file browser application with a nice SMB addon/builtin. File mamanger HD (play store link)
I've tried root explorer, astro, and a bunch more, but i found this the best. Can save shortcuts to shared folders on my fileserver.
I also bouhgt MX player (pro?) and it plays almost everything!
It's soon becoming a laptop replacement.

Shield like streaming except to PC?

I've had such a positive experience with shield streaming even remotely it has renewed my interest in streaming to multiple platforms.
Has any software come out to low latency stream one PC to another PC? I'd love to be able to use relatively cheap laptops which have massive battery life and use my home computer to do all the computing like with the shield.
Anyone have any experience with trying this?

The best you're probably going to get is using Splashtop. I've used it to play games that were on my desktop, but had problems with a couple occasionally.
Limelight
These guys have worked on porting the the protocol and tech that the shield uses (Gamestream) to other android devices: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2505510
They are currently working on porting it to PC. There is a pre-alpha build of the program in the thread but you should note that the program is in its very early stages.
YOU ARE IN LUCK! Check out kainy.com
Splashtop 2 is the best I've used, well worth the sub, especially if you own multiple machines.
One thing i have noticed since I started using the shield is that splash-top now streams games just fine to any of my devices in true full screen, it used to tell me full screen was incompatible with splash top but ever since i started streaming with the shield it works just fine. It must be something related to the shield/geforce experience streaming software that tricks the slashtop into working in fullscreen.

very interesting, giving this a try now.
Hm if I want to use splashtop I'll have to re-setup vpn again so I don't have to pay that remote cost. I wonder if someone ever wrote a program like the shield proxy to forward just the stuff used by splashtop to my PC to avoid slow VPN.
Let me know how that kainy.com works out seems a bit sketchy to me lol

You can also use Limelight for remote streaming. It works with Shield Proxy just the same as the real streaming software on the Shield itself. Just run the Windows binary on the machine that you'll be streaming from, setup the port forwarding, and you're set. Whenever you connect remotely, specify the external IP address of your router.

Well my shield works fine what I'm trying to do now is do shield quality streaming to another PC. I have this very powerful desktop and a bunch of fairly weak laptops would love to stream to a laptop to use my desktop quality gaming anywhere for those games which need a keyboard and mouse and cant do on shield.

Yep, there's a PC port of Limelight that uses the same technology as the Shield. There's more info in the Limelight thread.

Well that's worth a look it seems people have got streaming to work to their Rasberry Pi and here i was worried about using a very low powered high battery life laptop.
