What I was told that data and mms would have to be redone but talk and SMS wouldn't so really not a biggie but from the mixed reviews of the update I'm holding off on mine.

the problem is that i can't see my current apn settings so i cant restore it later, when i go to "mobile network settings" there is no apn settings
all i want is my data to work, mms isn't important to me

Same here Ive upgraded my mines and my wifey, no problem! Some people might be having problems cause they cant update there profile to begin with, if you have a 100% working flash then evrything is gonna stick, but if your getting the couldnt not update or could not verify then you might have to play with mms settings and data a little!
Can somebody please tell me how you flashed the nexus s to boost. Or give me a link with step by step instructions. Thank you.

Do a prl/profile update and reboot. Do it again if it doesn't work the first time.

+1 on what both Crump and VICODAN said. But one question is did you do a FULL Wipe before flashing the rom? Like posted in THIS thread? If you just did a Factory Reset and wiped Cache, that is not enough to wipe the phone fully. Which increases the chance for issues down the line.

Don't worry about radios now.
To do PRL/profile update you need to flash a Sense rom.
I suggest Supreme Sense.

Synergy should be able to do it. Goto settings -> software update -> update profile and update PRL then reboot. Do it twice if you need to.

Does 4G work? What are you speed test results?
What are your speedtest results for 3G?
What are you speed test results for Wifi?
I'm not having any problems with speed. I was losing data connection while on 3g when I was running mikeshifted g. But I have since switched to synergy ROM and haven't had any problems.

You can also try this. It helped with my 3G speeds. Download MSL reader from the market to get your MSL code. (make sure you write down original settings before you change them)
For the record...the fixes below will most likely also fix a number of other issues you may be having in regards to streaming music, internet related errors, internet speeds and even weather not updating properly. These fixes are intended for the HTC Evo and may not work on other models.
All users should remember to update PRL and Profile afterwards, in that order. Most of your prior changes to the ##3282# menu will have to be redone like removing proxy settings etc...but I suggest trying it out first prior to going in and deleting those.
This is assuming you have already done the HTTP setting fix

I tried this yesterday and my port was already 0, and my address was already 0.0.0.0 I will double check again but so far on synergy ROM o have had no problems thanks again.

Hey guys,
I have a rooted htc inspire running cm7. I was running the Inspired asop rom when this problem started. The problem is that i seem to be unable to get a data connection, The icon on the status bar is greyed out, still has an H with the 2 arrows, and 4 bars, But still if i go to the browser or market or anything involving data it dosent work? I thought maybe it was the rom so i flashed different ones, same result. i reset the apn settings, still the same. now im at a loss. If anyone could please help me id greatly appreciate it! thanks

I have an AT&T HTC Inspire 4G on h2o wireless, last week i rooted my phone using Android Revolution HD 6.1.1, before I was rooted my internet and MMS were working fine now since being rooted they do not work at all. I had download from the android market the h2o config app and before it worked but since rooted it does not work anymore. can someone please help me?
I had the same problem, you didn't flash a new radio after rooting and the stock one was not meant to be kept so your going to neew to pick a new radio to flash.
Have you messed with your APN setting recently?

I have rooted my phone and updated it to ICS 4.0.3.. Since then my data connection is not connecting and when i also searched for Mobile networks, it returns with networks not found. I sense that there is something i might have not done or may be something gone wrong... Please help me...

alright i need some help i currently bought the htc inspire for att and i rooted it and unlocked it fot tmobile its running the stock rom for the htc inspire alright now to the nitty gritty i can call and recieve voice calls i cand view and send textmessages anywhere i go but i cant connect to 4g data anywhere i can connect to wifi no problem but i cant connect to cell phone data idk y can someone help me please im confused im a noob and i have no idea wat to do
What tool did you use to root?
Check your apn settings.
Edit: inspire is a at&t phone. Tmobile uses different bands. You will only get 2g on tmobile using the inspire. Its a hardware thing.

You probably have the att apn settings and it may be the reason its not working. Your gonna have to Google tmobiles data and mms apn settings and adjust them on your phone.

Just go to rom Dev forum and see what their instructions are to flash. We don't use rom manager anymore we all use 4ext recovery which is usually installed when we flash custom rom. You can place rom zip on root of ad card (not in any folder). Power up into hboot with power button and volume down at same time then enter recovery that way full wipe and flash. Or see if you have the option of booting into recovery when you press power button to shut down. Rom has to be specifically for our phone do not just flash any rom if it ain't from here at Inspire 4G or DesireHD you will greatly regret flashing it.
Edit: we can also use DesireHD roms as well, there are some really good ones there as well. But remember DesireHD only.

this is to fix mms messaging on metropcs flashed verizon galaxy s3. place zip on sdcard, reboot into recovery and flash the zip then reboot. once phone boots up go to settings, more settings, mobile networks, access point names. you will see lte-verizon internet apn click on it to activate apn then reboot. once booted back up send yourself a mms message, it may hang on sending/pending if so turn on airplane mode, then turn off airplane mode and all should be good. this was tested on 4.1.2 with verizon sim in the phone. with non-verizon sim or no sim in had to use apn manager to activate apn

I would like to thank both of you and let you and other know that this fix also works on CM11 as long you have a verizon sim on the phone.
On another subject does anybody knows how to avoid or stop the auto-call *22899 on Verizon GS3 flashed to MetroPCS, it's bother me.

My zip didnt stop it it did stop activation and auto dial for me I beleave I dont think I change anything else but I know I did get it stopped

Yeah, it might be something with CM11 then, it doesn't happen all the time but I get it quite often since CM11.
I also get 3g data drops, and I have to restart in order to get it again,I hope CM11 fix that soon.

Im experiencing data loss after the zip flashed...before I flash the zip internet was working fine...

Verizon phones usually are factory unlocked but that doesn't matter for flashing it that only matters if u want to put it on metropcs gsm. As for flashing its basically the same but verizon u will prob have to enable hidden menu and when u flash connect to it send spc and set it to nv only then reboot then reconnect write prl and flash as normal

I just flashed the newest nightly of Omnirom and now I lost all my all settings... I'm not getting any signal whatsoever... I tried to enter the apn settings that I found in Google but whenever I tried to save it, it would be gone... I saved it then backed out and went back in that settings and it's still not there... I read online if u reboot ur phone it will appear but it's still not there... Idk if anybody else has experienced the same problem or similar but I need help... Thanks

Yes I did go back to my previous rom... I had my back up but the problem continued... I was able to fix it though... I had to repartition my SD card cuz for some reason I couldn't access anything on it... So I then flashed cm 11 rom and then I found the options for the apn networks... Afterwards what I did was flash my Omni rom again and the apn networks was still there... So if anyone has a problem apn try this... Thanks...
