Not OTA from ATT.
Someone usually posts them in stock form and then custom roms are made.
There is a Q&A subforum....

hello all, nice to be here.
Tmobile sent out a software update to my phone this morning, did any one else get one?
I was about to start modding stuff like taking off touchwiz. Would a software update make doing this harder?
It reads,
'congratulations!
T mobile has sent you a new software update for your device.
To proceed with installation select next.'
It's possible that this update might keep me from modding certain things right?
Any details known about the update?

Is it just KD1? I know that rolled out from tmobile recently.
It's kd1 update. We have had a deodexed and rooted version available for Odin flashing here for a while. I recommend using it instead of the tmo version. Look up Whitehawkx kd1 thread here on the forum and follow the directions in the op if you want to try it out.
Also an fyi to avoid flames--this is the dev forum. Questions should go in general forum. We are trying to keep things organized so folks can find what they need--and to keep Mr. Clown (forum mod) happy!

Sorry I thought this was more of a dev question. Thanks for the heads up and the info.

So we cant even use it as a base? We are porting vibrant roms now. I'd assume the same process would need to be done and the button mappings changed right?
I doubt it, not yet anyway... as you can tell they're having a bit of trouble porting froyo roms
Here is a stickie for stock roms for the ATT Inspire. Not sure how long it will last as These may be the only stock roms we see.

That's not, strictly speaking, stock.
If someone would like to take over the OP to keep it updated, feel free to send me a PM.

Hey guys,
I just got my hands on the inspire and i am understanding that going back to 2.2 will allow for a little tether usage.Could`nt get it to work on 2.3..Are these posted roms 2.2?

There are many custom roms that allow you to tether with your phone. I personally donĀ“t use it but if I am not wrong CoreDroid V9.2 (which is my current rom) allows you to do that....is not necessary to go back to froyo stock. The best way to find out is to search in the dev's forum the different roms or ask in the Q&A section.

THANKS alot!
Just curious, why does anyone want pure stock? Custom ROMS are the way to go! Or are these just in case you have to send your phone back so you don't void your warranty?

There's an APP by the ClockWorkMod Team that might help you to tether without having to downgrade your firmware:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.koushikdutta.tether
Hope it helps...
New OTA HTC is rolling out to Telus DHDs.
Rooted Telus 3.13.661.4 Sense3.0
Read OP carefully.
Edit:
Gene has now released a "normarl ROM" to flash via recovery, it's very stock on the latest build.
[ROM][26-Jan-2012]Inspire Prochloron[Sense 3.0][Telus 3.13.611.4 base]

Most if not all custom ROMs allow for tethering. That might be good advice except this thread is about ATT Stock ROMs and nothing to do with custom ROMs. Please stay on topic.
thanks for the links

Hi, I recently betrayed the Apple clan and converted to Android.
I have an Infuse 4G and currently under going developing my device.
however
I have rooted it using super one click using a video I found in the development section of this forum. However, it did not continue on to show me how to install kernel and ROM.
Which brings me to my next issue: according to a fellow android user, I have to install a kernel....whatever that is. Can anyone provide a trustworthy link to install kernel from?
And also after that I apparently have to install ROM, but the choices for this are endless?
Sorry. I REALLY suck at this kind of stuff.
Also, are these ( FroYo, ICS, GB), ROM or kernel?...
Please read

Credit goes to XsMagical for being the first person (to my knowledge) to figure out the problem with the bars and for slippers67 for posting how everyone else can change this in the ViperXL thread, I'm just posting a new thread so people don't have to dig through the ViperXL thread.
So, I've seen a few people complaining that when they are on LTE their bars read too low. I've experienced this on CleanROM 5.1 and ViperXL 3.0/3.1. This is a very simple fix if you have the same "problem" that many others have
1. Navigate to /system/customize/buildflag
2.Open buildflag
3. Change it to 152
4. Reboot
Note: If your buildflag is already 152, you have a separate problem. Try flashing a different radio.
I feel like slippers67 came up with this...you should give credit where its due...

If you post a link I will be more than willing to amend the OP. I searched that thread and saw that there was this problem on that ROM, however I could not find the solution posted anywhere
FYI for Telstra users if you change the buildflag it will no longer display 4G when connected to LTE - it will say LTE instead.
Here the link to the thread, I don't know exactly how he didn't it but its integrated into the Rom.It's located under the goods on the 14 of - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29318761
