About to order some stuff on there and figured that I might as well get some due to the fact that I don't like the previous ones I bought.
Which ones have you gotten off Amazon and have liked?
i think the best one on there now is the reelook one for the sensation
EZGuard
I bought this screen protectors:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0054LJD9O
I really like it and it was really easy to install (using the water method), but one little comment/warning. These screen protectors are not sold by EZGuard, I think that the seller bought some large EZGuard protectors (maybe the ones for the iPad) and cut them themselves. I think that the size is perfect, as it covers the WHOLE screen, yes, the WHOLE screen, including the concave edges. They are completely clear, but I know some people feel that they are a little rough to the touch, but if you ask me, that's what I actually like about them, because they feel thick. I don't think that you lose sensitivity at all.
I hope this helps.
The absolute best (read: super high quality) is by SGP.
http://www.amazon.com/SGP-Sensation..._1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1311699400&sr=1-1
I use the same for my Xoom, my two G2, an my Sensation. I swear by this product, though probably one of the most expensive, due to its nice compromise between clarity and anti-glare.
Usually gloss means, nice to the touch, messy with fingerprints, the best to look at (when clean), but a pain in the neck with the glare. Matte finish means, no messy fingerprints, excellent against glare, not as responsive to touch, and not pleasant to look at.
SGP has Ultra Matte and Ultra Crystal, I believe, and though both finishes would mean what I mentioned above for any other brands, SGP actually minimizes on the cons and maximizes on the pros for each. The matte finish I have on my Sensation isn't what you expect from other brands' matte finish and the same for the gloss finish on my Xoom and G2's.

except that for the Sensation, SGP did not come out with a "real" steinheil screen protector. The SGP screen protector sensation is only one of those wet-applied films because of the curves of the screen. But for matte surface of the phone's body, SGP is truly great
for the screen, I think it's best to get the realook one from amazon

Are you saying that from experience with the Realook on the Sensation? I have it on my Vibrant, but am curious if it's the same.
Also, there are 2 versions for the Sensation, clear and anti-glare. Have you tried either or both?
Edit: One reason I'm so interested is I actually had a spare Vibrant Realook SP. I cut it to fit the Sensation screen, but it's so stiff there was a bubble all around the outside edge. Along the bottom there was a decent gap between the edge of the protector and the noticeable curve of the glass, but still it wouldn't lie flat. So, I can only conclude they must have changed the material for the Sensation version to make it much more flexible. Going just on reputation or experience with other phones doesn't seem sufficient in this case.

Did you get the ultra matte SGP full body protection or just the front SP? I am interested in getting just the SP in ultra matte but on SGP site they only sell it along with the body protection.

Correct. The matte is only for the one with the full body.
i'm not sure if the person above is correct.....the screen protector that comes with the body protection package is clear, not matte. only the body pieces are matte

regardless which package you buy (full body or just screen), the screen protector is NOT matte. It's just a clear piece of plastic.

I've seen one or two screen protectors that are pictured to fit the N1, but before I go order one, I want to make sure I can't smudge and scratch it up.
I have for my MT3G the PowerSupportUSA.com screen protector for the G1, and it's served me well.
Is there anything similar or better planned soon for the Nexus?

+1. I hate to post just to say +1 but I too am in need of a screen protector. If anyone has any info on any good ones, please post. As soon as a few debut I will try different ones and hopefully remember to post results here. Also, you might want to keep an eye on http://www.seidioonline.com/ as they are getting ready to sell some N1 products. They are usually overpriced but they spawn ideas so people can cheaply copy them.
Does it not come with a protector in the box? Like the G1?
No. I was disappointed it did not come with a screen protector. I ordered a kit from amazon "Skinomi TechSkin - Invisible Cell Phone Protector Shield Full Body Skin for Nexus One - Plus LIFETIME REPLACEMENTS"
Wireless Phone Accessory;
$18.95
Free shipping.
Zagg is taking preorders for the InvisibleShield -- ships approx 1/08:
http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield...es-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
I've never had experience with the invisibleShield line. Does anyone have any comparisons to the non-smudge/non-glare ones from powersupportusa.com referenced in my op? In order of most to least necessary, I'd like to see these qualities
1. Smudge and fingerprint proof
2. Static cling rather than adhesive backed
3. Can take a bullet to protect the screen (at least be scratch resistant)
4. glare reduction
5. Looks good.
I've not yet been able to sell my MT3G, but when I do I'm very hopeful I can buy both the screen guards, case, and phone on the same day.
Does the phone at least have a protective film that you have to peal off before you make calls or something?

I've had both the Zagg (and InvisibleShield and ClearProtector and whatnot.. they're almost the same when used on the screen) and PowerSupport anti-glare ones. I'll rate it JUST FOR THE SCREEN:
1. Zagg is somewhat fingerprint proof on the screen (better than a bare screen), but too far off from the anti-glare protectors. No comparison here, anti-glare wins.
2. Zagg is adhesive based (you need to wet it with a solution to apply). Only regular screen protectors (including anti-glare ones) are static cling.
3. Ah ha, here is what the Zagg-type stuff wins. Just view the Zagg videos and you will see they are a lot stronger than a hard plastic film. Scratch-resistant-wise, I find they both do the job well enough.
4. Zagg is somewhat anti-glare, because the surface is not even. But the "bumps" are a lot bigger/coarser than anti-glare screen protectors (like PowerSupport). Zagg-type stuff is still shiny while anti-glare ones are matte. So the anti-glare property is a lot better on (gasp,) the anti-glare screen protectors.
5. Appearance wise, it depends on what you like. The anti-glare screen protectors dim/distort the screen a bit, while the Zagg-type stuff preserves the colors better. However, the Zagg stuff has an "orange-peel" look due to the bumps, while the anti-glare protectors look smooth.
Personally, I use Zagg-type skins for the body, and an anti-glare screen protector on the screen.
And I want to add that my Zagg-type skin is peeling off my Magic (since day 5 or so?!), while my anti-glare screen protector recently has a tiny dent. Both are not bullet-proof.

I ordered the clear silicone protector, a motorola rapid car charger, and the skinomi protector. I'll report back how everything goes.
I just pre-ordered the Zagg Screen protector only. I had one of the whole body clear skin things from Zagg for my G1... and I did not like how it made the phone look, and how it felt.
I do however, really like their screen protectors. You cannot mar them what-so-ever. The only thing I would stress is taking your time applying it to the screen. Make sure that sonovagun has a lot of the solution Zagg provides, and get all the air bubbles out.
I think a nice silicon case (hoping for a Blody Glove) for the Nexus will be a nice fit for this phone... the G1 as always cumbersome due to the sliding keyboard. Every case for it came in 3 parts.
I just got word from Martin Fields (overlayplus.com) that they have a Nexus One on order and expect to offer screen protectors in a week or so. They usually include a camera protector too.
How is the glass screen on a stock Nexus? Is it easily scratch-able? Is it even glass?

Yes, it is glass. Does it matter how easy it is to scratch? It's possible to scratch it. If you put a protector on it, it's just a few bucks to replace if it gets messed up and it's peace of mind...
I ordered a screen protector from clearfreakmobile on ebay. It's an invisibleshield type (have to use water), but it looks fine. I never liked the full body kind as the little pieces keep coming off in my pockets. Should hopefully get it late next week.
i'll prolly check out martin fields when they start shipping them.
I still swear by naked cases they are awesome. Patiently waiting for a nexus one!
Nothing beats powersupport anti-glare. I custom cut these for my car navigation, digital camera, and all my phones. but nexus got a big ass screen and custom cutting wont work
I'm digging the Clear Protector (which, again, is the same as Zagg and Ghost Armor). It actually gets completely smooth over time and the orange peel effect becomes less noticeable. It also starts off with a little more friction on swipes than I like, but that is fixed over time as well.
Hi all,
This thread is just to give my personal opinions on some of the accessories I have owned (or are owning right now), and I hope it helps some of you wanting to buy any of them.
Martin Fields Screen Protector (Clear)
Not worth the money. Yes, it is very clear, but so are 99% of the other clear protectors. Also, it is not scratch-proof, if at all. It got scratched while in my my Moshi iPouch, go figure. Is it of good quality? I will say yes, but it's NOT worth the money at all. 6/10.
Seidio Innocase II
I thought I liked it, but now I'm not sure. It fits way too tight. It cut into my MF protector, DC mugen, and even my Clarivue. Maybe Seidio should actually try to fit it on some actual Nexus Ones before selling. I know, you've to really center your protector, etc. etc. Also, some people suggested filing/cutting the sides of the protector a little so that the Seidio Innocase II will not hit it. The question is, as a consumer, is this really our problem? Yes, the case feels really solid, I trust my phone in it, but the problems with it are irritating. 9/10 for the solid build. 6/10 for the fact that it fits like crap with a protector on.
DCMugen Anti-Glare Screen Protector
Well worth the money. I love it. It's very cheap compared to many other products in the market, and the quality is good too. It doesn't fit very well (off by 0.5mm or something at the top and bottom), but that's really not noticeable. You can't beat the price to quality ratio. 9.5/10.
DCMugen Ultra Clear Screen Protector
Well worth the money, but it's a fingerprint magnet (like all clear protectors). Same as the anti-glare, it doesn't fit 100%. 8/10.
Clarivue Anti-Glare
It is more expensive than DCMugen, about the same price as Martin Fields, but you get 2 instead of 1. Very good! Although it's matte like DCMugen, it seems to affect the screen clarity less than DCMugen's, which is always a plus point. On the flip side, it attracts fingerprints more than DCMugen's anti-glare. The price is justifiable too . 9.5/10.
DCMugen Hard Rubberized Case
I just got them in my mailbox today, and I'd say the fit is about 8.5/10. Actually it fits perfect except for the bottom. Also, since it clamps the phone together, it won't actually affect your screen protector (unlike Innocase). I'd say 8/10. If the bottom fits well it'd be perfect. With that said, the Innocase feels a lot more sturdier than this, but given the price this is to be expected. Some pictures attached. Sorry about the lousy quality, don't have a digital camera that's good. Update: I just pressed the 2 sides harder together and they seemed to fit pretty well . Still 8/10 (as the build isn't very solid).
I'll update this thread as I get to try/use more accessories .
Good info to know... im actually waitn for my clarivue protector... Just hope i kan make my seidio case work with it !
I ordered a cheap anti-glare screen protector and it seems to affect the clarity of my screen a lot, is that something you've experienced with or anti-glare protectors?
clarivue
seems like the anti-glares arent as scratch proof as we would all like..... elago anti glare and clarivue dont do as well as id like in a pocket with some keys
Updated first post with short comment and pictures of dcmugen's hard rubberized case.
I feel good about the dcmugen anti-glare SP now. It's en route now, I can't wait to see what it's like. I've had a few for my old iPhone 3G, but I'm curious to see how it affects a quality, pixel-dense AMOLED screen.
Also, were you ever able to have both SP and Innocase at the same time successfully? I really want that case!
Recently purchased a full body protection, similar to that of invisibleshield etc. from the following site:
http://www.devdef.com/products/for-htc-desire-hd
Hoping that it has no orange peel effect, loss of sensitivity of the screen or yellow tinting after time. Will give a review (with pictures if possible) when I receive it and my Desire HD!

Yea thats fair doo's. My friend has the Samsung Galaxy S with a silicone case and whilst it looks good and gives it a firm feel to it, I definately myself prefer a clear full body protector. I had a bodyguardz protector for my HD2 and loved the feel and look of it. Nice to know that it was protected without covering up any of the beautiful design.
But yea its all down to the individual preference!
This body protector is a lot cheaper than Zagg which was quoting I think $20-$30 last time I looked. Does anyone know what the difference is?

Im not too sure on the difference, only the price difference at this stage. I have received the protector and so as soon as I receive the phone I'll apply it and provide my own review (with pictures) for other members to decide upon
Can you tell what the material is like?
Is it slightly stretchy and "soft" like Zagg's offerings (i.e. if you dig a fingernail into it, does it spring back?) or is it more rigid and unpliable like a brando protector?
I'm a big advocate of Zagg's products - but they dont seem too fussed in making anything for the DHD yet...
I am using CAPDA CASE to protect my Desire HD. The best protector case I used.

Used to have ZAGG full body protection. It was nice for a few months. But then it started peeling away along the edges, the dirt and lint started getting under the film... urghh, dusgusting. Got rid of that.
Are there any recommendation on the best film I can buy? I can't stand the smudges anymore!

Steinheil SGP protectors are by far the best screens out!
There is the Ultra Clear which is crystal clear, but tend to be just as or more fingerprint magnets then the glass by itself.
They also make the SGP Anti-Fingerprint Matte screens, which make the screen matte, and there for, finger prints don't show up on them. The downfall to the Anti-Fingerprint reduces the screen clarity by a small amount.
I ordered the Anti Fingerprint, and I honestly love it. The package comes with 2 screens, and I was able to get the 1st one done perfectly. The matte screen is a nice texture, similar to a resisitive touchscreen. It makes a slight sliding sound when swiping or using Swype but I have grown to like the sound a bit. About screen clarity, YES I can tell there is a bit more of a haze on the screen, specially when on bright white background. But I don't notice it when the screens on, and the anti fingerprint is MORE than enough reason to keep the screen protector on. As far as anti-fingerprint goes, fingerprints are a thing of the past!
from a epic Galaxy far, far away.
I use zagg invisible shields. They are working out pretty great, easy to clean also.
I'm rocking the Realook.
Pros:
Clarity
Smoothness (I can't stand the 'tacky' feel)
Exact Fit
2 in the kit
Durable so far
Reasonable price
Cons:
Fingerprints can show while screen off
Reduced sensitivity of capacitive buttons (any full-screen will have this)
Im using the Bodyguardz. Super clear and you get enough for 2 applications for the same price of 1 zagg set. They are the best I have ever used.
Also these dont reduce the sensitivity at all from what I have seen on the buttons. The buttons stink to begin with so that might be why. lol.
Are bodyguardz more rigid? Sometime i think i put too much water when applying my zagg and there are slight waves and i can make little ridges by running my nail against the shield.
Another Vote for Steinheil SGP protectors, I opted for the crystal clear version, first application was a breeze, can hardly tell the protector is even on the screen.. it is a fingerprint magnet but I really wanted it to protect against key scratches and such. so far I wouldn't use another.
stealth gaurds are what i like and the price is right. under 3$
Bodyguardz isn't too bad on the orange peel, but its still pretty soft.
Using the realook, its hard plastic and smooth, zero orange peel.
Heard good things about the SGP too, may try that next once this one gets worn out.
I have tried sedio, invisiable shield, body guardz, and I have to say the best hands down is realook. I can't even tell its there and feals just like the glass. Trust me best one.

What's wrong with no skin? Never scratched the hero and dropped it a bit...
I liked the zagg on my blackberries but it didn't help the touchscreen and eventually became a bother....
I'm using the Skinomi full body screen for my Epic, some people have had problems putting it on but I didn't have any issues. I like it a lot, and it comes with a life time warranty. I put a scratch on mine and sent in the mail form to get a new one, they sent it out, they charge for postage and you have to send the old film back but it still works out pretty well.
I have a zagg, it doesn't ever get that dirty look, doesn't peel around the edges, it has very clean look and feel, sensetivity is outstanding, no glues and chemical residues, and the special little bottle full of "special solution" used for applying the screen protecter... Water
Don't forget the Lifetime Warrenty for those that are going to use their Epic for the rest their life.

I wonder if there is a gell that we can put on our screens that would be to either repair light scratches or can protect it from scratches
Phantom Skinz all the way. Goes on smooth and feels smooth. Very little orange peel effect.
I just got the Steinheil anti fingerprint screen (it was like $8 for two on amazon), it was extremely easy to install and fits the screen perfectly. I didn't get it so much for protection, but more for the anti smudge and I have to say it works great for that purpose. It does have a noticeable matte look on our gorgeous screens, but I decided to take the tradeoff of the no prints. It also feels very different, it doesn't feel glass like or even plastic film like and you can hear you're finger swiping on it, again no big deal though. There is no decrease in sensitivity as well.
For protection purposes, I had skinomi on my hero, and once installed right (moderate difficulty) that worked out well for the duration that I used my phone.
What's the difference between the SPG "Anti-figerprint" and the "Ultra oleophobic?" Is it just the matte texture on the former? I'm debating between the two. I like the feeling of the matte but does it compromise the quality of the screen to an unpleasant effect?
Edit: Nvm, I watched a youtube video of the difference between the Anti-Fingerprint matte screen protector and the Ultra oleophobic clear screen protector. On the SGP website, it appears that they don't have an Ultra Oleophobic screen protector for the Epic quite yet.
The other day a phone droid x a guy had, had a screen protector that kinda felt like paper. But there was hardly any figer marks. Does anyone know which one im talking about. I know it was on a droid x but i would like one like it for my epic.
SGP Ultras - Mui Nice!
The SGP ultra is as clear as glass feels just like the original screen. Goes on easy without water and each pack you order, has two screen protectors in it. The only drawback, the screen themselves scratch. I haven't tried the low fingerprint (matte model) I read that it makes the blacks less deep. If you go with the SGP Ultras dont order them from the amazon vendor TechNGnet. I ordered a set for my epic and set for my wifes Evo. Hers arrived defective and it took an entire month for a replacement to show up! The guy didn't let us know that he was out of stock or communicated with us at all.
Well, i am getting a nexus 4 soon and confused as to which screen protector to use.
both skinomi and xtremegaurd seem to have good reviews in this forum.
Any clear cut winner between the two or any third one which should be considered since i just look at this forum and nowhere else?
XtremeGuard is really iffy. I got a bad batch from them, it came to $6 for 3 full body sets. All of the fronts were garbage, so I told them. They sent me 3 more new ones. I'm yet to receive them, but we'll see what happens...
Skinomi may have changed since I got one for my Galaxy S2, but these were like Zaggs, only of worse quality. Dust would get trapped on the surface of the skin, and it would take a lot of effort to get them out, such that I made scratches that wouldn't go away. I tried buffing it with a glass cleaner and ended up burning the surface of the protector such that it fogged it up beyond any recovery.
I hear good things about XOskins and BestSkinsEver, but I can't verify anything about those.
Get the ZAGG.

I have both the BSE and the xtremeguard for the N4. Orange peel is about the same for both(next to nothing). The BSE is the cleaner cut of the two although mine doesn't have a proximity cut out they have since changed that afaik. Out of the gate the BSE is definitely the less tacky. About the same for reflectiveness and dimensions. Xtremeguard is cheaper by quite a bit and comes with a very small microfiber.
*edit* if it matters to you BSE comes with side protectors while xtreme does not.

I agree that you should get Zagg - if you want to overpay and get a noticeable orange peel surface. If you want less orange peel (but still present) and less than half the cost, get Best Skin Ever.
I had a Zagg on a blackberry that got driven- over with my car - which completely destroyed the device. When I peeled-off the Zagg, the screen was in factory new condition. I was impressed with the protection it offered, but the orange peel and tackiness of the surface really detected from interfacing with a glass surface.
Everyone has an opinion about screen protectors, and now you know mine.

wah wah wah, no one asked for yours.
XtremeGuard sent me three faulty ones (no cut out for proximity sensor), so they sent a replacement, but only one set... i paid for three sets. plus the one they sent me turned out to be partially stuck to the envelope rendering it unusable. Still waiting for them to send me my 3 sets.
Very bad customer service, true they replay right away but so far all their replies are automated, they don't actually read what we write.
I used to have a Zagg on my GNex, but I got tired of the Orange peel effect. Swipes were pretty rough for the first few weeks as well. I ordered a total body skin from BSE and I am very impressed with it. Minimal orange peel and smooth swipes. However, I can see a few tiny dimples that have appeared and light marks where my fingernails went across the screen. But they can only be seen with the screen off and holding the screen at an angle in the light.

It all depends what you like. i aboslutelly hate the rubbery feel protectors. I still like to feel like glass. If you want rubbery get zaggs if you prefer more like the current glass I'd recommend the Rearth Ringbo or SGP. I use the Rearth and its great and very very very easy to install.
