I went ahead and subscribed to this thread as I plan to update it as often as I can.
wow, no XDA love in the 808 huh.
I am interested in this info, too. Going to Honolulu 8/19-8/30. Would like to rock 4g for the first time on my bolt, don't have it in my hometown yet.

honestly, i've had sprint, tmobile and att. i can honestly say that at&t speeds are a whole lot faster than tmobile. "4g" speeds for tmobile are sick in town, but at walmart, pearlridge and target, it sucked. I didn't think that speed and reception [for tmobile] were good on the north shore and all along the east side. at&t is solid around the island. sprint was so-so.
I will be in Ka'anapali soon and am hoping just to get 3G. 4G would be more than I could hope for. I'll report back next month.
Just returned from Maui and Oahu both have 4G coverage. Tethered a few times in both places worked pretty well but wasn't super fast like 10 Mb/s but that was probably due to being inside hotel towers.

Trust me, it's WAY better than Sprint's WiMax. I came from an Evo and I know that for sure.
Also just FYI, the overall signal quality in LA isn't as good as in San Diego, but not to the level where you will have problems.
I get about 16 down and 4 up. I live outside of Baltimore and seem to have 4g everywhere I travel. Washington DC coverage seems to be hit or miss though. The speeds of this device are incredible.

I've done speedtests all over L.A. and the slowest I've gotten is here at work in a brick building next to a hill with bad reception for all carriers, and I get about 8/1 here. Everywhere else I get much better speeds, sometimes 20+/10+.
Well I happen to work next to the Airport in Salt Lake City, Utah so I only get 4G coverage at work. I take that back, I think the coverage is there because I work next to one of Verizon's largest call centers. Regardless my speeds are lopsided.
I'm getting about 12.5MB/second Down and 26.5MB/second Up
Most of you guys have BS scores. You cant use speedtests app... even the 2.0 version is crap.

That being said Im getting around 18 down, 3-4 up in the Lehigh Valley PA.
Interesting story from Wired.
Kind of sad how slow the rest are compared to Verizon...

Verizon has 700mhz for the spectrum their LTE network is on. Sprint's WiMax is on 2500mhz, the highest of all for cell phone coverage, thus is absolutely sucks indoors worse than anything else. Sprint's 3G is on 1900 which is also sucky and worse than tmobile's 1700 for 3G which AT&T is looking to buy to put their LTE on. Verizon by far is going to have the best 4g coverage for a multitude of reasons.

The speedtest app has been working correctly for me for awhile now. I just pulled identical speeds using the speedtest app, speedtest.net, and speakeasy.net. The Speakeasy test is also powered by Ookla, the same people who make the speedtest app and the speedtest.net website, they're all the same.

So I'm on CM7 latest stable, I've updated APNs, and tweaked the build.prop file yet I cannot get above ~300kbps on uploads here in San Jose. Is there anything else I can do to open up that pipe further or are we looking at a local AT&T system throttle still?
Just wondering about other local Inspire users' experiences.

I am in San Jose and I get a wide range of speed. My average is about 2.5 down and 1.1-1.2 up.
I'm on using this radio:
12.41.60.19P_26.06.04.14_M
I flashed to that because I put Android Revolution on my phone and that was the recommended radio. The only difference I noted is that I don't get the H+ symbol, only the H symbol. I also get 3G symbol up there where I did not get that on the stock radio.
1.9mb

Galaxy S2 got 42.01mbps (highest) on LTE. Average in the location was 40mbps
HTC inspire 4G got 1.5mbps (highest) on 4G. Average in the same location was 1.2~1.3mbps.
With no radio tweaks at all, I've gotten a max of 1.3 mbps in Sacramento (that was my best by far, usually I get .45mbps). In SF I get an average .45mbps. This is with 3g mind, ATT hasn't gotten around to 4g in my area yet.
Unless my phone is playing a cruel joke, I'm on 4G right now.

It was just announced the past day or two that LTE is going to be active in Springfield and Kansas City MO starting November 17th. Verizon is probably running the necessary field tests to make sure that their network buildout in those area's can handle the traffic, etc hence the reason you are probably on 4G right now.
Haven't been to Springfield to test, but I was in St. Louis over the weekend and got some pretty amazing speeds there.
Up to 40Mbps, the Internet was flying by so fast, I didn't know what to do with all the speed. XD
I just got 4G the other day for the first time on my Charge in Nixa, MO
Jealous. The 4g in the STL area has become quite saturated.
Yep, 4G is up and running fine in Nixa! 22.4 Mbps down, 16.4 Mbps up. Speedtests are consistent at those speeds
HTC Thunderbolt and Motorola Droid Bionic
Should have mentioned this when Verizon told me but...
4G LTE just went live in Kansas City, MO.
Was previously told that it would go live today (November 7th), 10 days earlier than the planned November 17th date. Pretty awesome. Getting decent speeds here.
I see a lot of reviews and phonedog and technobuffalo like to say the T-Mobile 4G is slow..I wanna see how close to 14.4 mbps we get..I would like to see everyone post pics of their speedtest results! T-Mobile USA only!

9/10 down is the max I normally get. Compared to Verizon lte (28 down) it feels like it's the tortoise vs the hare. Then again, I don't want to pay $120+ for 10 gigs (streaming videos/music and downloading apps makes the 4g speeds go away :'c )
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
mine is not too bad. this is my average speed.
there are time it hits 10megs + but those are rarer.
definitely not LTE speeds but fast enough to do whatever.
it's as fast as most home networks, to put into perspective.
I came from sprint 3g, which in my area is about the same as tmobile's edge speeds. Im more than happy with the 4-8 down that i get on a regular basis. What am i going to be doing on my phone that needs anything faster? Youtube HD runs smooth, netflix runs fine, apps download in seconds, and my bill is half the price of verizon.
This is my best test result ever, but I'm content with it.

Wow you guys are lucky...
I'm running ARHD 6.0.3 and have been averaging 350-600K depending on what time of day. Cracked 1000K last night, but that was the 1st time that happened.
In the south-eastern Michigan area...Sprint is particularly terrible here...no 4g...so my friends Evo gets <200k, which is truly pathetic.
Noticed when I was running GB Roms and toggled ciphering, results were better, but cant do that with ICS Roms...(correct me if I'm wrong)
Tested inside a building. Never really hit past 8mps download though.
4.5mbps down in 4g in okc. While in small town outside of okc on hspa+ I get 8-10mbps down. What a joke ATT. Y'all are really sucking. Going to be looking at Verizon soon.

depending on your time and location; I've beaten my co-workers' iphone 4 and two iphone4s on speedtest.net's app. but you have to factor the load of the network stop putting blame.
two iphone4's on AT&T , one iphone4 on VZW. only the vzw iphone4 was matching closest to speeds like mine.
4g or 4g lte? Big Big difference if its one or the other. I average 3-5 megs down on 4g here in Conway. I've peaked at over 10 megs down a few times though. We haven't gotten lte upgrades on our towers yet but when we do I expect I'll see 20+ megs down at least!
In Philly,
depending on the day, the time, the location, whether I wear my socks, etc...I can get between 1 and 9 mbps down, 1-3 up.
In South Jersey at my folks (who live in the woods), I can get 4-5 down. 3 miles away out on the marsh, I get over 10.
LTE-long term evolution. Suuucks....actually its ATT.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
I average 25 mbps down in dallas on ATT LTE. When i drove through OKC i was getting about 15 down. Having used Verizon, i hate their coverage and their service. If you dont get their LTE, their 3g is 1mbps tops. I dont understand why everyone bashes on ATT.
Edit:
And Verizon's LTE is about 12 average on a good day. Peak of 18, low of 5.
how can anyone complain about 4.5 mbps down on their phone ???
goodluck with verizon, if you dont get an LTE signal your download speed is going to be less than 1mbps.

so was I . I would get 1.8mbps at my house (on 3g) on sprint but anywhere else i was that was not 4G i would get 15kpbs to about 600kpbs. It was painful.
On the 4g network (hspa+) i usually get anywhere from 3 to 9 mb/s, but when i hit the 4g lte area in NYC i see speeds anywhere from 20 mb/s on the outskirts of the city to 50+ mb/s in the center of the city, also depends on how much load is on the network. If your on a custom gingerbread rom try using the V6 supercharger 3g booster script with script manager and try playing around with the options, i usually choose the known maxed out values for the best possible speeds

That's sad.
Important thing with Att is reliability. Verizon lte was out several times in a short period of time. And you get they're crap version of 3g as a backup if that. I'm assuming all the cdma iPhone users are clogging it.
AT&T gets hspa+ as a backup if anything happens to lte, although there aren't any reports of outages with it as of yet. Enhanced 3g is more than enough for me, i use my phone to browse the internet, not tether or stream.
