Trouble after the latest update :( - HTC Sensation

Hi, after I updatet my Sensation ota (1.35.401.1) I have some problems with it. The update circle (the two arrows formed as a circle) on the top is there all the time, and my screen frezes alot. I tried a hard reset, did not help and I called HTC and they think something went wrong with the innstall of the update. My Sensation is s.on so can I use a goldcard? I made one to a Desire once, worked great. I also see that s-off is maybe comming this week, maybe just wait for that and innstall a custom rom after s-off??

Gold card won't work with sensation. Try to flash again using official RUU. Heads over to dovelepor section and download one which matches your CID.

HTC Desire Restore restore to telstra(AU) RUU Im panicing

Hi, i got my phone about a week ago and decided to root it today because i wanted to force all applications to the SD card since the Internal memory is so small. I now decided that i hate what i have done and am panicing and just want to go back to the stock ROM
I am with telstra Australia
Device is HTC Desire,
I Have no idea what i am doing at all please help.
I found a Flasher for telstra htc desire, is this safe
android(.)modaco.com/content/htc-desire-desire-modaco-com/308058/stock-htc-desire-roms/
Have a look at the Wiki, you may find a stock rom, or even the Desire Forum
Grab the the stock RUU from the Desire Android Development section, in the "Everything Desire is here" sticky.

Telstra RUU
is there any telstra ruu that can be downloaded that arent corrupt?
Hi I am in the same boot as the original poster, my phone was happily working with an older version of Cyanogen, then recently upgraded it to CM 6.1.1 which worked until that night I put it on charged, it started to just reboot and was very hot.
I can only just about get it to go after leaving the battery out for 5-10 mins. Even then it will only stay operational till I plug the power in again.
Even with out the power now it is randomly rebooting. By rebooting it just shows the original vendors splash screen and reboots every 5 seconds.
So my question is do I just install the standard rom I downloaded from this site. Only thing its an exe not a zip which is what I am use to?
You can download the official Telstra AU RUU from the HTC support site.
I can't post a working link because this is my first post, but this is the URI:
/au/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=312&cat=2&dl_id=1048
If this says its not applicable for your device, they may have released a newer version, so go looking.

This appears to only let you download for devices that were on 2.1 originally, not the latest 2.2 devices.

sensation flashing procedures

is someone gonna post a guide to flashing new roms on the sensation , im getting one when they come out and im coming from an HD2,just wondering if the procedures are basically gonna be the same for the sensation as the HD2 as far as hspl 3 etc.....that is once the bootloader problem is woked out, been waiting for this phone for a long time and if it suks i will have no problem going back to my incredible hd2
I expect flashing on the Sensation will be like most other HTC Android devices. Get it permarooted, unlock the bootloader, flash a recovery like CWM, then flash the ROM zip.

Flashing Android devices is nothing like flashing the HD2. I have three HD2's and 2 MT4G and it is night and day difference...except for the Recovery part if you are using MAGLDR for your HD2.
I am looking closely at the Sensation.
Flashing the Sensation will not require anything like HardSPL. Android users do not even know what HardSPL is.
To flash the Sensation we will first have to unlock the bootloader, get some kind of root access(whether that is permanent or not remains to be seen) and finally flash a recovery of some sort from which you can flash a new ROM in the .zip format.
So yeah, nothing like the initial flashing of Android to the HD2.
Thanks for the replies, well I hope the bootloader gets cracked but I just gotta give the sensation a try with the hardware upgrades over the hd2
I have been using HTC Touch Diamond2, I'm gonna get a HTC SEnsation once it comes out. After reading the guides on HTC Desire HD for flashing, I realised it is completely different.
I suggest reading all the guides thoroughly before flashing.
I am also nervous about flashing cause it is my first time flashing an android phone. And Its a new phone, hopefully I dont screw up.

I can't help but think you're jumping the gun. We don't know how locked/unlocked the Sensation will be (once unlocked by HTC, if that happens). If it's made radio S-OFF before shipping or by an official FOTA update or RUU for those already shipped, it will most likely be just a matter of installing ROM Manager from the Market, clicking the 'Install ClockWorkMod Recovery' button, and then using CWM to install any ROM you like from your sdcard. That's a very low risk procedure that's almost impossible to screw up.
We're going to have to wait for the bootloader to be unlocked. We'll probably see a CWM Recovery a little after and a temp root solution for those unfamilliar with fastboot.
Wrong section btw ;p

Over here in singapore, the phone is yet to be released. I heard 18th June for my carrier. I guess it should be S-Off. Or maybe the new batch released. I've never had any experience in flashing a rom on android phones.
I have it now for one week. I have to say sense 3.0 is so nice! For now I miss root only because of titanium backup and deleting vodafone crap... The original rom feels real nice and battery seems ok

Once it's fully developed someone will post a guide. As long as you read and follow directions exactly... rooting and ROM'ing is easy. 99% of phones that get accidentally bricked are probably because the user didn't read and do everything exactly.
Until that day enjoy Sense 3.0.
I think flashing should be similar to any android device.. copy the rom.zip into sd card and flash via recovery.. before that we need :
1. Rooting of Sensation
2. A compatible recovery
he he
compiling the recovery shouldnt be that hard colockworkmod has a guide i will try to port once we get the sensation running

This is because hd2 is not a real Android device. Remember when you bought it and there was an OS on it called windows 6.5 all real android devices are similar.
Thank devs for making hd2 run Android. Still considered by me to be the best and most flexible phone out there

[Q] Problem getting back into HBOOT for HTC Incredible S

Hi I would like to know if anyone out there knows the solution to my problem.
I have a HTC Incredible S. And I gained s-off and rooted it. I flashed clockworkmod recovery many times before. I used Android revolutionary's rom and Nik's Trinity Sensation XL rom before. Now I've recently flashed a new rom, which is the RunnyDroid ROM by the pvteam. ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1374852 )
Now I found another ROM that I would like to tryout. But I can't seem to get my phone into HBOOT. I always used revolutionary to get my phone into HBOOT ( they'll detect your device and it'll say your phone is already S-OFF and then they ask if I want to download clockwordmod recovery which I usually type Y )
But after flashing the runnydroid's rom, whenever I type Y in revolutionary, the program will stop working and it'll say windows detect a problem or something like that. I can't seem to get into HBOOT. Any help please? I'd appreciate it loads! THANKS IN ADVANCE!
Hi,
So the post in the Incredible S section says:
5. Pull out the battery and wait 5 seconds. Put the battery back in again. (This step is needed in case fast boot is enabled..)
6. Press vol down+power. HBoot (white screen with 3 android logos at the bottom) should load.
This is what I do on my Sensation as well...
Hope that helps.
[Q] [FIXED] Problem getting back into HBOOT for HTC Incredible S
hey thanks! That totally worked for me and I have just flashed a new rom ( CoreDroid )
But now I seem to have a new problem, I can't detect any signal at all. When I looked for the network under mobile networks, it says error while searching for networks. Do you know how to deal with that?

[Q] Sensation Xe ICS Update UK O2

Hiya guys,
I'm so sorry if this question has been asked, I've tried to search through but found nothing that relates to my situation.
I made the switch from iPhone to a Sensation XE and was interested in jailbreaking / rooting.
I successfully S-OFF'd, rooted my XE but haven't been running a custom ROM, finally today o2 pushed the ICS updated and I downloaded it, went to install it and a warning triangle with a little android appeared, obviously I panicked and took the battery out, my phone is working fine now without the update being applied.
My recovery info is:
PYRAMID PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.17.111
RADIO- 10.14.9035.02_2
eMMC-boot
I was wondering if I would have to flash a custom ICS ROM to get ICS or if it was possible to install the OTA update whilst keeping S-OFF?
Sorry if I have misunderstood something obvious, thanks for looking.
I'm in exactly the same situation. Would a factory reset solve it or is that only going to restore the OS back to it's original state?

Was it a triangle or a question mark? Having the same issue here, started a new thread about it.
I'm hoping against hope that someone is able to help me through this!

Triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle for me.
I'm guessing I need to remove S-OFF and root from the phone before attempting the update again.
I'd rather get the OTA update than flash it myself.
Why not just flash Stock rom?
Sensationaly sent from my Sensation.
I've looked through some of the other posts and came across this same scenario a few times. It looks like the solution is to re-install the stock rom so the custom recovery is reverted back to stock. This should allow the OTA update.
I'm going to try this tomorrow, will post here if I have any luck.
The chump at O2 Ireland told me on the phone today that ICS was only possible on the Samsung SII.
I genuinely guffawed down the phone
A very nice posting from my ARHD XE
Thanks for the advice guys, my warning thing was a triangle with an exclamation mark inside of it and a little android by the side, all buttons were non responsive.
From the sound of it flashing a stock ROM seems to be the only way to go, will try later on and post back.
You can't be rooted to flash an OTA as the system files the ICS OTA patches have to match
Sorry for a noob question but......... ive got a sensation xe,its unrooted on contract from o2
how will i know when there is a ics update for it ? i keep checking on the phone for updates via the "about phone" menue in settings but it says theres no updates,is this the correct way to check or do i download an update via say the HTC website ?
ive never updated a phone before, hence the noobness , sry
I followed step 5 of this guide to remove S-OFF and the OTA update ran fine.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
I installed the same ROM version that I was on:-
RUU_Pyramid_LE_HTC_Europe_1.73.401.4_Radio_10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2_release_220036_signed.exe
Thanks ,ive now discovered my phone is S ON so will look into turning it off,im abit worried sky go wont work if i upgrade to ICS tho
Recommend custom ICS rom every time over OTA. You will get far more support and updates from developers than official sources.

Hiya guys, I still havent got round to flashing the ICS OTA, would you recommend custom ICS roms like ARHD?
Hi, new to all this and probably closest thing to do with what I'm trying to do, apologies if it's bumped wrongly or something.
I still haven't managed to get an update from the standard Android version on the XE which I bought new in February.
Can someone tell me which steps in any of the above could help me improve my chances of it please?
I'm in the uk and O2 is my carrier although I' sure that doesn't matter too much.
Any info would be appreciated.

Download the 3.33.401.153 RUU from here: icxperia.com/jonny/RUU/
Please remember to browse to the Sensation XE folder as there is more than 1 RUU my RUU folder then just connect the phone to pc and run the RUU exe file

Brilliant! I'll try that now, from a fellow Cheshire resident too, what are the odds...
Well I gave it a good go initially, started the RUU exe and got to the second screen, but windows pops up with a bubble and keeps telling me the device driver wasn't installed properly which was odd as I presumed it was there before working fine, device manager just has a yellow mark next to android phone, am I being particularly thick here?

[Q] HTC Sensation XE WIFI problem

Hi guys this is my first thread so i hope i have posted in the correct section, and posted the right info.
a couple of days ago, i bought a HTC Sensation XE off of a online website.
it is an unlocked phone, and i am using it on telstra.
the reception on it was poor, so i thought i might flash a x.xx.401.xx baseband to it, and see what happened.
so i unlocked the bootloader with HTC Dev. then i flashed clockwork recovery mod 5.0.0.2.0 onto it using ADB. i then flashed Android Revolution HD 6.6.3 onto my phone. this was without it being S-OFF and it was not rooted.
i was really excited, but none of the features i had hoped for came with it (likely because i wasnt rooted) so i decided to flash a stock ICS rom onto it.
so, i have done all of that.... AND NOW MY WIFI DOESNT WORK!!!!! I LOVE MY WIFI! when i try to turn the wifi on, it just says "error", to the left of the on/off toggle at the top of the settings screen..
any ideas on how to fix it?
please help to try and fix it

It's probably the HTC-DEV unlock that made this error. Try to unlock your phone (bootloader) via the Revolutionary method. Then reflash the firmware (last one). And finally, flash your favorite rom. This will solve your problem. Feel free to post additional questions.
Read those topics:
Guide for s-off, root, flash, ...
Solve wifi errors
i cant flash it via revolutionary.... my hboot is 1.27.0000
sorry, i mean unlock by revolutionary.
also, now that i check, my gps does not work correctly, so i am assuming this means i have the wrong radio flashed onto my device? any suggestions?
Maybe radio or kernel but if you have an HTC RUU (original rom) this won't happend. So it's most likely a wrong unlock bootloader error, if this means something. Have you tried to unlock the bootloader via htc-dev again? Maybe you should use the new way to s-off (unlock bootloader), the one called jaggerbear or something like that (have a look in the dev section).

nah.... Juopunutbear completely voids ur warranty... dont really want to risk that
