its been said a few times before, just wait till the devs package it into the rom, its usually pretty painless and takes a few minutes to do.
we're all still waiting, tired, and anxious to get the 2.3.5 update, more notably the GRJ90 patch

Hello all
I'm new at this forum and new at all the galaxy stuff
I have Samsung galaxy S II, 2.3.3
I want to put a good rom, I need to upgrade to 2.3.4?
or i can leave it 2.3.3 with a good rom?
Ty
Your very lucky to have one.
I've always believed before you flash a new ROM you should ask yourself "What is wrong with the ROM I have". If that answer to that is nothing, you should probably leave it alone (My 2 cents).

It's up to you. If you wish to get the most out of your phone (although it is already a beast of a device), then you could root it and try out new roms. Here's a suggestion: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1095274 .
If you plan to install the custom ROM or root, I advice not to upgrade to 2.3.4, I was told Android 2.3.4 is hard to root.

That's a lie.
When I tried it, Gingerbreak does not work on 2.3.4 but that was when 2.3.4 was just released. Now, I have seen many successful rooting on 2.3.4, should have checked before I post.
I have samsung Nexus S I have root it and have updated to ICS aosp from your site, now want to know can stay on same to received offical OTA from google or should i roll back to Gingerbread & unroot my phone receive it.....please help
same here
If you want to get the official google update, then you have go back to the official stock rom 2.3 that was on your nexus S, ICS is totally another thing.
Can u tell me how do i do that???
I am sorry but I do not own a Nexus S, you will need to go to the nexus S forum, and read how to unroot your phone and reinstall your stock rom.
Thanks dude.
I know you are new, but next time HIT THE BUTTON THANKS, we avoid unecessary posts...
Yes, you have to downgrade to official stock gingerbread rom, and wait for the OTA update. Good luck.
Hi guys. I got my Nexus S like 1 month ago and it's just great. The only problem that I have it's this crappy stock ROM I have from upgrading Android Build from 2.3.1 to 2.3.6 (Which appears to be latest when pressing System Update button in Settings).
I've been looking around for some custom ROMs to mount on my Nexus and I found out that none (or maybe I've found out wrong) support 2.3.6.
Should I downgrade to 2.3.4 or upgrade to ICS? And if so, how do I do it?
There is a Dev section where you can look for custom ROM.

Went there and found for 2.3.4 and 4. Updated it to ICS, but I'm having a small problem installing from sdcard, hehe...
Hi all,
i decided to leave ICS and go back to GB 2.3.6. So I unroot Nexus installing 2.3.1. Aaand whats happend? There is no OTA to 2.3.6 (I was thinking that Google should share that one since they stoped ICS update). Ok, so I install 2.3.2 (GRH78C), then try to install 2.3.3 (GRI40). But it cant be done! Why? Anyone knows? How can I direct install stock 2.3.6. To addition: Ive got 2.3.2, 2.3.3, 2.3.4 and 2.3.6 on my PC.
Check this thread, it has the full ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1063664
thanks a lot, it totally helps me! i forgot about this threat
Can you please tell me.. What's the latest update for HTC Desire S? I mean like the Official one.. Is it ICS 4.0+ ?
Since I have totally messed my phone up by rooting, unrooting, downgrading, upgrading, installing custom ROMs over one another - I didn't do it properly. I have no idea how to check the what's the latest update.
Oh another question, according to what I've told you above, does this mean my phone is like dead now?
It kept freezing and starting itself many times - is this because of the ROM or is it because of the phone? The phone is very very slow and it lags a lot lol.
Thank you in advance!
The latest update was gingerbread. But I suggest you trying to flash different rom rather than reverting back.
Sent from my Nexus 7 running Froyo.
