Downgrading ??? - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What is needed to downgrade from NoDo to 7004 or 7008?
I have no idea where the phone was imported from anyway of telling?
I am sure its just a unbranded HTC HD7 as it has no telco branding and also has
a Green HTC theme.
OS version 7.0.7392.0
Firmware revision number: 2250.09.16901.707
Hardware revision: 0002
Radio software version: 5.54.09.21_22.33b.50.10U
Radio hardware version: A.102.0.D4
Bootlaoder version: 1.69.2250.0(117833)
Chip SOC version: 2.2.5.0

So I take it this is the ROM RUU_Schubert_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.69.401.01_Radio_5.54.0 9.21_22.33b.50.10U I am on??
and I can Downgrade to either of these ROM's correct?
1. RUU_Schubert_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.23.707.01_Radio_5.51.09.06a_22.30.50.09U
2. RUU_Schubert_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.57.707.02_Radio_5.52.09.16_22.33a.50.10U

Hello m8....
With the data you provide seems that the rom for your phone (Asia) is this :
hTC_Asia operator, CV 707 with CIDs HTC__044, HTC_621, HTC__622, HTC__038:
2.2 BR: RUU_Schubert_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.57.707.02_Radio_5.52.0 9.16_22.33a.50.10U_by_ansar
2.1 BR: RUU_Schubert_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.23.707.01_Radio_5.51.0 9.06a_22.30.50.09U_by_ansar
Try first the (2.2) rom and if you have any trouble flashing then try the second (2.1)...
The xda thread for links and instruction is here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=876451
Just let us know the results ...

Hi,
Just to confirm, both ROMs are 7004 but 1.57 is the latest one
Try it with no fear but 1st backup your running ROM

Thanks for that xtra peice of info , and for providing the ROM.

So after installing the 7004 ROM and following this keeping unlocked method here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=913748 , can I now update to NoDo and it will stay unlocked or am I stuck on 7004?

[HOWTO] Trophy Flashing notes, by ansar.

Dear forum members,
In case you are interested about rom flashing in your device as:
- Installing a new radio version and
- Trying another imgfs of other official builds
then you can post your device about info in order to be developed.
I will also provide an analysis of the the rom:
RUU_Spark_HTC_Europe_1.10.401.04_Spark_5.52.09_REL EASE
provided by Football, in order for all to know what there is inside.
Flashing is as simple as that:
Set the device in boot loader mode
- From power on, press power off and hold volume down and wait up to tricolor screen be displayed. Release volume down.
- From power off, press power on and hold volume down and wait up to tricolor screen be displayed. Release volume down.
Connect it to your laptop/PC with a USB cable and double click on the provided ROMUpdateUtility.exe
Follow the on screen instructions as usual.
In case of emergency, say if flashing has stuck in 0% or other percentage do this:
Press and Hold the power button until the device will reboot.
Reboots to normal operation due to it is connected with the USB cable to a PC/Laptop.
Important note:
We flash a ROM when we have an initial ROM backup for our device
in order to flashback again to our initial ROM.
We can identify our device rom version, see this link:

Hi,
The correct fw version is:2250.09.10906.162 (dot missing in 2250.0910906.162)
so your initial rom is something like this:
RUU_Spark_XXX__YYY_1.09.162.06_Spark_5.50.09.15_22.23.50.09U
but the operator XXX__YYY is missing.
Is it a EUROPEan, VODA, SFR, UK, DE, ORANGE, Tmobile or what?

Hi,
Your phone ROM is compatible with all ROMs of RUU_Spark_Vodafone_ELL_ type
Threads with [ROM] include PreNoDo ROMs
Threads with [NoDo ROM] NoDo ROMs!!
Unbranded ROMs for your operator start with RUU_Spark_Vodafone_ELL_ but bearing a CV different from 168
Now you run a NoDo updated ROM

Hi and happy new year!
After unbranding, did you try to update with an official rom .exe and did it work?
I unbranded using a Y cable and I tried just to see if it works but I got "Invalid vendor ID" again. Strange!?
I think I will always use a Y cable and a gold card to update!?
Thank you for your reply

Hi,
The 2 roms B.1 and B.2 can be used to unbrand your device if your device is branded to the Vodafone_ELL operator.
This means that you can successfully flash the B.a rom before proceeding to unbranding.
After unbranding you can go back to the initial operator Vodafone_ELL by flashing the B.a rom.
Regards, ansar.
Thanks! Do you by any chance know how I can find what kind of VODA-something my phone is? (for future use?)

Hello, is possible to unbrand a vodafone espain trophy?
Thanks
I have the Vodafone UK version of the HTC Trophy and tried to unbrand it as per the Unbranding the Spark Vodafone_UK operator instructions. I can install the RUU_Spark_Vodafone_UK_1.07.161.04_Radio_5.50.09.15 U_by_ansar without issue through bootloader mode.
I move onto the next stage to install HTC_Asia, RUU_Spark_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.09.707.07_Spark_5.50.09.1 5U_Signed_by_ansar but I repeatedly get the invalid vender ID, again installing by the bootoader method.
My phone 'About' info now reads as follows:
Firmware revision number: 2250.09.10704.161
Hardware revision number: 0003
Radio software version: 5.50.09.15_22.23.50.09U
Radio hardware version: A.102.0.D4
Bootloader version: 1.7.2250.4(109106)
Chip SOC version: 2.2.5.0
Before the flash it read:
Firmware revision number: 2250.09.10906.162
Hardware revision number: 0003
Radio software version: 5.50.09.15_22.23.50.09U
Radio hardware version: A.102.0.D4
Bootloader version: 1.9.2250.6(111329)
Chip SOC version: 2.2.5.0
Obviously there is a difference now.
My bootloader screen now reads as follows:
PC40100 SS-BC (4K)
SPL-1.7.2250.4(109106)
MicroP(LED) 0x09
TOUCH A1(v10,20)
SD SANDISK 7580MB Class4
Partition Info-v211v413
Which again is different to the original.
There is obviously an issue with the Asia ROM, could you please advise as to what to try next, thanks.

Hi Ansar,
Sorry for the inconvenience. It works now.
The solution for me was to remove the SIM card, stop all running programs on the computer and disconnect my connection RJ45 for the network and the Internet.
I extracted the RUU with Winzip instead of Winrar and I ran the flash in administrator mode (right click "run as ..").
A prayer for St. HTC-XDA, and ... miracle!
I went from 7392 (and 7290) blocked in 7004... I'll release it again with Chevronwp7 and then unlock permanent.
Thank you for the ROM
Hi,
Glad to hear it was ok

[Q] I need some serious help to downgrade a branded 7 Pro SPL phone

Hi guys. I have a swisscom branded T7576. Here are the specs:
HTC 7 Pro T7576
SO: 7.10.8107.79
Firmware: 2250.21.51101.166
Hardware Revision: 002
Radio (sw): 5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U
Radio (hw): A.102.0.D4
SPL: 5.11.2250.0(134400) MNG
SOC chip: 2.2.5.0
So... after some search and too much reading i ended up trying to flash ansar's rom "RUU_Gold_7Pro_Europe_5.10.401.03_SLSPL_by_ansar" to be able to downgrade my SPL and install RSPL/HSPL by DFT. The problem is that i'm getting the famous 294 error (invalid vendor ID aka CID lock error).
Can anybody help me out? I want to debrand and be able to flash custom rom's on this phone.
Thank you.
Cheers,
Draco
With a little more reading is the radio hw version A.102.0.D4 from O2?
If so, wich rom should i flash to downgrade SPL?
Please help me.
Thank you very much.
Cheers,
Draco
Come on guys, help me out on this one. Any SLSPL rom wich i can flash? The one provided by ansar doesn't flash since it's Europe branded. I need to sideload a XML for camera translation settings. While i'm on 5.x SPL i won't be able to unlock my phone. Any sugestion will be appreciated.
Cheers,
Draco

Thank you Budniu. Can you confirm if, with this GoldCard method, i can flash a Europe branded rom on a Swisscom branded phone? I just don't want to brick my phone. Following ansar instruction i get confused on ID of the rom i have. Apparently Swisscom is code 166 and i'm not sure wich rom should i flash to downgrade my SPL.
Thank you very much.
Draco
Hmmm I don't know does you can downgrade SPL in branded device and not to damage the branded phone. If you want, you have to try but only for YOUR RISK.
For device from Orange in Polish that method work fine (my friend tried on Mozart).
I have the same situation !
any resolve this

i do not know of any swisscom Shipped ROM...
you might try contacting Football asking.
what you will want is a NoDo Shipped ROM.
you will need to flash that ROM with the Goldcard method in order to downgrade.
basically, what you are looking for is a 7 Pro Shipped ROM with x.xx.166.xx
you currently have ROM 5.11.166.01
sorry that i can't be of more help, atm.
