There is a way to get your contacts back, BUT Only your contacts, no text, no call logs and so on.
Here is how to do it:
#1: Open your "Contacts" icon in the drawer
#2: Press the left bottom touch button on phone
#3: Select Import/Export
#4: Select Import from SIM card
#5: You can also try Import from SDCARD
if you already done a export to sdcard
in the past.
All done!
Have a great day,
Enjoy!

I just back 'em up to my sim card. You can use google backup as well.
Just use googles backup much easier.

I was in the same spot while reading this. I knew I created a tbu but figured I lost it when flashing. I went back to it and saw that my back up was still there. I selected restore data, rebooted and bam all my contacts were back.

[Q] Delete downloaded e-mail attachment

Hello, today I needed to download zip file from my gmail inbox. I had only Omnia W with me and no Android phone. After that I wanted to delete downloaded zip... but can it be done? On image below is what I mean... how can I delete once downloaded file?
In this cas it is only 90KB file, but what if I download 10MB zip for example, then it would take 10MB from small device's memmory forever? (or until factory reset). This is unacceptable behavior.

and that will also delete temporary file on device? and what if I want to keep mail on server?
Downloaded files are saved toa Temp location, and it appears that the OS cleans them out periodically. I could write a fairly simple app (wouldn't even need interop-unlock) that lets you view and clean them out, if you want, though.
Note, however, that I'm pretty crazy-busy right now, so I can't promise *when* it would be available.

Is it possible to access from code files outside the isolated storage of particular application?
An app with ID_CAP_FILEVIEWER can read the temp folder (using either native APIs or GetResourceStream).

I got it figured out !
Anyone in the same situation what i did was used a program ( a pc download ) and an android app. The site I got it from called it Carbon, however when you download both program and app it is called "helium".
It was made by Koushik Dutta, who has also developed ClockworkMod Recovery, ROM Manager, and a recent Superuser application. I am sure most of you know those apps and his name.
Literally took less than 3 mins to back up all of my app data.
Highly recommended for anyone not wanting to lose data before they root.
Any other files I just used es File Explorer it's free on playstore though they may have a paid version as well but the free one works just fine { at least to serve my purpose}.
Hope this can help at least one other person.

[APP] ZIPme - A FREE Titanium Backup Alternative...

ZIPme is an app that will create a flashable ZIP of your apps and apps' data. It is in beta, but it sounds very promising. This will not replace Titanium Backup (since TiBu has many other useful features), but if you like to change ROMs often and can't afford to lose your data, this is a great alternative!

This works well for general backups of apks but backing up the app data is hit and miss. I've been using it since jrummy released it.

How does this compare to something like "My Backup Pro" (which is not free, mind you)?

Android Tuner hands down is the only app you will ever need....try it out

Looking for a real phone clone program.

I tried all kind of clone and backup apps for android.
They all copy the original data but they do not copy the menu structure I build for myself. BTW, standard android grouping of apps.
I see examples were Google apps are presented in a own group so it is possible.
The grouping of apps is something I build over the years. And rebuilding it from scratch is a lot of work.
There are apps that can group apps like games, tools etc in categories but they do not work as I want.
The second problem is that almost all apps need a new login. With more then 300 apps (some only used once in a while) again a lot of work.
So, anyone knows a real clone program?

What exaclty are you trying to do? Back up and restore?
As I said, a real 1 on 1 clone. With no or minimal settings afterwards.

Clone meaning?
If you're signed into your Google account on your device, it should keep a record of what apps you have installed so as to restore them if you ever factory reset or use a new phone.
There are also apps out there such as Swift Backup that can do the same thing; with root, it can restore the app data so you don't have to reconfigure each app afterwards.
problem with all the backup apps is they restore the installed apps, the data ( photos. docs etc) but not the menu structure i.e: the grouping of apps android way in a map.
a real clone is a carbon cop of the original, hence the name clone.
Most apps do not clone but simply restore data.
