Sorry for asking a nooby question .
But im due to get the X1 or AKA 8180 Huawei phone via Optus Australia.
Basically its got the exact specs of 8150 except its lacking wireless N.
I was wondering whether i can run the mods in this forum for 8150.
For example the Gingerbread 6.1 mod , will i be able to run it? The phone is nearly exactly the same its just a different skin really.
Just wondering whether its possible to flash the rom of a 8150 into an 8180?

stuck with a bloated 6.1 sux
I've found quite a few threads on various forums which have been asking for a bell rom upgrade so I'm searching for help here (as well as at ppcgeeks) for instructions on how to dump my rom. I could help by dumping my rom in efforts that someone can strip it of all the various crap that bell has put on this device and maybe even update us bell omnia users to 6.5 but I have NO idea on what the steps are. Help would be appreciated.

im new at this and i just bought my htc touch pro alltel cdma i flashed it to metro pcs already and i was wondering if i can flash the rom to andriod and would it work could i flash my htc touch pro to andriod version and how would i flash it i can i flash it with a usb or my micro sd 8gb if i need the help lol well get back to me anyone thanks
Well that is a windows mobile phone. The only way you could run android on it, is if devs have ported android for your specific phone.
Just pay attention to what you buy, and dont buy winmobile or apple

Well is there answer to this question. I was wondering as well and have searched for it and the information is confusing and not clear. they should just make a sticky for the phones that supported so far for the Android porting

This is me, from Singapore. Recently, saw the news that 2.1 isn't upgradable for ASIA. So Is it possible for 2.1 on Motorola DEXT?
1) CLIQ 2.1 ROM on DEXT?
2) Is it possible for Pinch To Zoom on the phone?
3) Can i still make calls if flash?
(Sorry i am a newbie, doesn't know about flashing ROMs and ROOTing as i never done it before, even once )

Hi guys, i knw im probably the worse person with upgrade, downgrade or anything to do with phones, but i really wanna root my htc hero, however i do not knw hw, ive seen a few videos so i do hv a slight clue as to how its done but in order to be able to do so i need to downgrade first, how do you do that??? ive even downloaded the ROM from some website bt duno hw to install it on the phone for a downgrade, not to mention tht the phone has nt been rooted if that has anything to do with it, fanks in advance

I'm considering to buy this phone since it packs some great hardware, it looks great, it has a big battery and now has official CM support! :laugh:
(I lost my Xperia T a couple of weeks ago so now I am looking for its replacement)
Given the various versions (Verizon, global, developer edition), I am wondering if somebody could show me which threads are related to rooting the European version (Razr HD), changing the recovery and installing CM?

I have some experience installing custom software to my devices (LG Optimus One, LG Optimus 2X, HP Touchpad and Huawei Mediapad), but Motorola is not know to be very developer-friendly, so I would like to check how it works before I do buy the phone.

Follow their link to the Motorola unlock tool and make sure you have the correct drivers. Once you have the bootloader unlocked, you can push a custom recovery in fastboot, then flash SU binaries, ROMs, and whatever else you want.
EDIT: Whoops, missed the part where you said you don't actually have the phone yet. Well, in my opinion it's still a pretty simple process if you've flashed custom software on your previous devices.
