flash rooted stock rom
flash stock recovery
unroot using super one click
flash the recently leaked gb update using kdz or lg update tool.
reflash to cwm.
flash whatever rom you want.
instructions are really easy to find.

or have a little patience since the developer said he is working on an update to 2.3.3 for dark sinister

Hey ct,
so I just tried to update using LG tool.
Steps I did-
*flashed stock rom
*flashed stock recovery*
*didn't unroot***
*tried flashing update (1st time it said I could update and then it stopped and said to contact LG or restart)
(2nd try it said I had no update, that I was up to date)
So why did it try the 1st time and not the 2nd?
Should I unroot?
Not sure where to go from here!
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Question about flash from a (maybe) future O3D owner

Hello, maybe i'm going to buy an Optimus 3D soon.
I've got some doubts about the flashing process: on Android i'm used to flash with ClockWork Mod Recovery, but i see that there you use another method that needs Windows on a PC.
How's that? Can i choose which one to use or do I really need the program on my PC?
And also the modified USB cable?
We still use Clockwork Mod Recovery.

cwm as usual to flash firmware in zip format... u only need the lg update tool if you want to flash kdz files which are basically the form in which lg releases the firmwares.

Ok that's great, so for custom ROMs i won't need it
And what about flashing CWR? Is it Root>Flash from terminal?
Ok i should get it tomorrow (can't wait )
I've seen that to flash a radio i have to use the LG Flash Tool, right? I'm talking about this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1244490
And i have to change radio to switch to Gingerbread. Do I just need apps on my computer or also the modified cable?

no need for modified cable but seeing as many people still cant make gb to work on their phone i would wait 2 more weeks for official gb update and then having the gb baseband start messing with custom roms...

Right, i think ROM manager is easier, even if it should work also with ADB terminal
So official Gingerbread will be released in 2 weeks? :O
To get official updates i can't root and flash CWM?

you can but then it is better to update through zip files in recovery than trying lg update tool cause some people have problems updating through lg update tool after they have rooted and cwm. I never had any problem though. my phone is rooted from day one and has cwm and still getting updates through lg update tool...
But will we be able to flash the radio from a ZIP?
No. CWM do not flashing Baseband.

First upgrade to official gb will have to be through either lg update program or by installing a kdz file of it when it is released. After that you will have the gb baseband already installed and you will be able to upgrade through zips

[Q] V21Y update

So did a restore to stock V21e. Did the ota update and it found it. Phone downloaded the update and rebooted into CWM?
Did a restart and Phone stayed on V21e.
Do I need to remove CWM as well?
You need to be on stock recovery since it uses it to install the ota that way (I'd assume).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248644
Worked perfectly for me.
What happens if you choose "install update.zip"? Isn't that how OTA updates work?

Can I install custom ROM from stock recovery mode?
First of all you shouldnt have made a factory reset.
Did you have a rootedsystem.img or system.img in the root of your internal sd card?
If you did all you had to do is dd flash that image and your phone would have returned to life. If you read the instructions to rooting you shouldve made a backup first!
If you flash ZV5 TOT you will hard brick your phone.

Its just not working... I have beendoing this all day... using Sp flash tool... I am now fed up.
My initial issue is that I chose option for 'Format all+Download' and it flashed well but I lost my IMEI... this should not be a problem I can re-write it using engineering mode Mobileuncle tools and other tools but they do not work on this rom... I think its because this is a moded rom so its not working, not even the engineering mode codes, I tried with fastboot, adb from computer... yes I can see my device but nothing else works.
Ok, let me just flash it all over with sp tool...all I get is the red bar, I dont get the Yellow one at all and even when i wait 5 minutes... nothing. I will keep trying then

After flashing a custom ROM and finding a few issues that were a deal-breaker for me im returning to stock. Can somebody point me in the right direction on how to do this and where to download it?
Thanks

How? I get the message shown in the screenshot
You cant use Oxygen Updater to go back to stock. Use the MSM tool:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/how-to/op7pro-collection-unbrick-tools-t3956595 - newer, not sure if drivers are included.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/how-to/msm-tool-guac-t3934691 - older, drivers included.
1) Turn off your phone.
2) Open up the exe.
4) Hold volume up and down at the same time, while connecting the phone to the PC.
5) There should be "connected" or something like that on one of the COMs.
5.1) If its not there, drivers are missing. You will find them in the second URL.
6) Press start and wait for your phone to boot automatically, congrats, youre back on stock.

What Rom did u try ?
Just flash oos and twrp to both slots in twrp format data and reboot. If you don't know this already then you shouldn't be flashing anything at all to begin with.
