[Q] Belt holster/clip for G2 with Otterbox - G2 and Desire Z Accessories

Ive been looking for a belt clip/holster for my G2 with the Otterbox Commuter since I got it. Id like to be able to clip my phone in to a belt clip that would hold it with the screen facing me and allow me to remove it with one hand. I saw this on ebay origionally then followed a link to their page.
http://www.slipgripcarmounts.com/SlipGrip-125-Bike-G2-HTC-Desire-Z-OtterBox-Commuter_p_94932.html
Its similar to what Im looking for but I need some sort of belt clip and Id like to have the screen facing my body to be protected. Anyone have any other ideas?

well there are a few belt cases customed to desire z and even fewer that can hold a desire z with a thick case. this is just a solution if you cant find anything, i have found that a blackberry bold 9000 belt clip case fits very well on the desire z and there is a little extra room that you can use to fit your case in too

well i found a link to the picture of the case: http://img2.prosperent.com/images/2...9780-koskin-holster-pouch--hdw-18193-003-.jpg
you can probably buy this at walmart or bestbuy. just find the oem case for the blackberry bold 9000 or even the 9780. just test if your phone will fit in like mine

oh I thought it was a plastic holster like seidio. Thank you though.

I too am looking for a clip type holster u described above for my G2 with otterbox commuter. I have searched all over and cannot find anything. Anybody have any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

Arent you so special...

I'd recommend the Speck universal holdster. They are hard to find but are worth every penny because they fit any phone with a hard case.

Found this on Ebay says its a vertical case that will hold a G2 with Otterbox shell. I just ordered one and haven't received it yet. Will let you all know how it fits after I receive it... Plus they are 50% off original price now...

G2 Otterbox Holster
The case is the perfect size for the G2 with otterbox. It fits in there nice and snug. The belt clip is not the kind that can comes off. It will spin 360 degrees. Its a very sturdy belt clip. It looks like imitation leather. The stitching seems to be pretty good also. Pretty nice all around holster for the G2 with otterbox... Only thing I see is the magnet for the flap is not as strong as I would like it to be. But it does the job, it will not open up if you shake it or turn it upside down. In my opinion it is definitely worth the few dollars.

I was going to buy the speck universal holster but after watching the video it seems like it would be a hassle to get the phone out of the holster. By stretching the springs apart...

thanks! yeah, the speck holster does require a two handed removal and can be a pain. after a few uses though, it does loosen up enough to be quite easy... but still requires both hands. I've had mine for over a year now and am quite used to it. I had a large vertical pouch before it (much like yours) but it would get stuck sometimes. the shell case I have is the HTC oem one and seems to have more sticky rubber grip than the otterbox. well, enjoy your new case!

Anyone try the Body Glove case w/ kickstand?

Has anyone tried the Body Glove case with kickstand? I can't post the link as a new user but it can be found on the Bodyglove.com website under Mobile and Epic 4G. I would really like a case with an integrated kickstand (one thing I still envy the EVO for). I've got the Sprint case just to keep my Epic protected, but I would like a higher quality product.
I'm not sure I'm a fan of the textured case, and it's a little pricey at $29.99. Hoping someone who has it can give me their take on whether it was a good buy.
looks like the kickstand is in the clip, not the case. They sell the clip seperate for 4.95, I wonder if it will fit on other cases? Anyone own one that can check it out?
You're not gonna provide us with a link to see what you are talking about?

I really would prefer if people actually read my posts before replying.
Thank you luis12285 for providing the link.
That looks like a nice case and the belt-clip/stand is sorta innovative combo. I'd really be interested to see if anyone else has used one or had their hands on one. I ordered the Body Glove case for my wife from Sprint.com accessories, but don't think its this model with the belt clip and kickstand.
Thanks for sharing this guys! Wasn't aware of it and definitely interested!
Looks interesting, but body glove cases for other phones I've handled in store are on the bulky side, and this one appears to be the same comparing the photos online to my sprint case.
I got the Body Glove case from Sprint Accessories and was really disappointed with the quality of construction. Sending it back. Went to to Best Buy and got the Platinum "quick clip" case with swivel holster. Keeps the screen safe against a felt lined holster. A little bulky, but better than scratching my baby!
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Platinu...07487&st=platinum case&cp=1&lp=8#BVRRWidgetID
Yeah I wouldnt go with the "Body Glove" on such a high end prestigious phone. I work in a foundry and have a Nokia 5800 (or something along those lines, crappy little flat phone.) that i use there because of all the sand/heat/oil that i'm around at work. I wouldn't dare expose my epic to sand/metal shavings! So I take the Nokia. It had a body glove on it.
The case lasted a few good months and then started to fall apart. Peices of connecting clips broke, leaving it floppy on one side of the phone, the "grip" stuff on the back of the phone is very grippy and feels nice, but unfortunatly it too peels off and away after a while. It's a very neat design of a case, but it just dosen't hold up. Just my 2 cents.

[Q] Case recommendations?

Sorry about another "case recommendation" thread, but my question is a little different.
I need a case that can be removed relatively quickly due to the phone not fitting in my car dock if there is a case attached. I really want the Otterbox Commuter case, but unfortunately it would be a hassle to have to remove it and put it on every time I want to use my car dock.
So, any good case recommendations for the Skyrocket which can be easily and quickly removed?
you have the seidio "surface combo" (case+holster). the bottom of the case can be removed as necessary.

look at this post: you can see some pictures of the surface and the active cases.

I ordered a SEIDIO surface case/holster combo (AKA Best buy Platinum Series). Had one on my Captivate and it was a breeze to put on and take off.
I'm currently using a cheap tpu case I bought off ebay to use until the Seidio became available. It's really easy to install and remove also.
I bough this one...

That first one you linked to is the same one I got off ebay for the same price. I wonder if it's the same seller?
Decent case though. Easy on/off and slides in and out of pants pocket without dragging/sticking like some silicone cases do. Matte finish doesn't show fingerprints/smudges either.
Otterbox Commuter Series is the only way to go!
Otterboxes have just gotten too big IMO. When the phone quadruples in thickness, its too big.

Yeah. I've used that series on my last three phones. My Otter for the SR came yesterday and I'm quite happy with it. It comes with a screen protector like my others did but that wasn't specified when I ordered it from their site. I bought an invisible shield when I bought the phone but haven't installed it yet. I can probably return that to Best Buy for the $20 or $30 it cost me. I have one on my 64G iTouch and I'm not sure it doesn't have a negative impact on the touch screen's responsiveness. Make sure you get the Commuter. They make three models for this phone. The Defender is kind of obtrusive. I generally only recommend them for extremely klutzy people (ex-girlfriend) who I KNOW will drop the thing at least once a day. The low end is just a gel slip over that's worthless.
One thing I like about the Commuter is, it makes it much easier to push the power button without accidentally turning the volume all the way down which has happened several times. Who thought putting the power button opposite the volume rocker was a good idea? There's a reason they are almost always on different axes.

The Defender adds some size. The Commuter adds very little despite having a thin gel inner lining under the hard outer case.
been pretty happy with my sprint case, modified with a dremel
also got these off of ebay and they are a perfect fit.

Love the platinum series from best buy. got mine yesterday. Adds the least bulk of any case I've tried. Matte black, hard rubber feel.

Galaxy Nexus Surface Holster = Perfect Fit

Perfect fit for our naked Nexus 4, as I'm rocking one right now.
Interesting -- the N4 is just enough bigger than the GNex to fill up the room that would be occupied by the Surface case, eh? If I hadn't already bought a belt holster, I might well have been interested; I had a Seidio belt clip for my N1 and liked it a lot.. Can you post a photo or two of the phone in the holster? Let us know how it does, i.e., if you have any accidents where the phone springs out accidentally or the like.

You're right, I really screwed up. I'm terribly sorry.
I have a lot of holsters, and must have confused myself.
I just checked, and it looks like the HTC Sensation Seidio Holster fits the Nexus 4 perfectly, but the Sensation Surface Holster, not the naked.
Really sorry, and hope you can resolve this. Feel terrible.

Tested with my Active holster for my HTC Sensation and works well with it naked. But not to be a buzzkill, but I do not want my N4 naked in the holster. I have dropped my sensation from this very holster with cases on. I am going to get the Galaxy Nexus Surface holster to see if it fits with a tpu case on or not.

I am getting the Surface holster for the gnex-at the office waiting for me tomorrow am. Anyone know if it'll fit with a tpu case on yet?
Seidio has Surface and Active cases with kickstands that are in development right now in addition to a holster that will work with them both. They don't come cheap though. I have used their products on a number of my phones and I have to say that they are worth every penny. Very protective, the fit is awesome and they even make charging stations that work with the cases on. I reckon by the time I actually get my phone, the Seidio cases will be available.
I'm using my seido active holster (90% sure it is the active holster, the one with a rubber and hard plastic parts for the phone) with my N4 with a tpu case on it and the holster fits almost perfect.

I have the Seidio Surface one for the Gnex and it doesn't fit with a tpu case on. It's a little loose with the N4 naked, but that's a no go for me.
Just an update. I am getting the Diztronic Ultra Thin One Piece Hard Shell case as well to see if it will fit the Surface holster. Will report back next week or whenever I get it in.
Here is the linkage to the 'thinner' case. Keep in mind it doesn't cover the bottom or top of the phone. Alas the some of the "thinner" aspects of the case. Remember to use XDA for a promo coupon code if you haven't done so yet. The code can only be used once, and I already used it on my other TPU lol.

I think I'll be picking up one of the Seidio Surface/Holster combos when they're released. The Nexus 4 is an awesome looking phone, but the back is so slick it ends up sliding away on it's own. This also seems to be one of the only ways to get a good holster for the phone.

i don't know man i buy this moko case every year expecting the worst and it always manages to impress me. pretty damn good case. also works great with the skintomi tempered glass screen protector. as an added bonus, the cutout for the fingerprint sensor is very large. doesn't interfere at all

I am a long time Otterbox Defender user, but am considering the LK and MOKO cases you listed. I also am really interested in the Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro. There is this I-Blason Prime Series as well. Also Seidio say they are working a case, but have not said what model.
I ordered this Story Leather Belt Clip Holster when I need something stylish and use the phone bare or with a simple skin. Now if it would only get here after 2 shipping delays.

the i-blason is just about identical to the moko, but the one for the nexus 6 last year used a plastic that i found to be VERY slippery in my hand. i tried it for about 2 weeks and didn't like the feel at all. the supcase is interesting, but i don't need an integrated screen protector. would rather use a nice tempered glass solution
one addendum to the moko (and i-blason) that i forgot to mention earlier...it still has this design issue where it's made for left-handed people. the phone attaches to the belt clip in the opposite way that a right handed person would use it. it's definitely not a show stopper, but it's annoying. i'll use it for the next couple of weeks and report back, but aside from this it's quite solid so far

I really like the Supcase but too bad it has a built in screen protector. Hate those things.
^^^
Just punch the built in one out and use a TGSP. That's what I do. Perfect.

I got this one for now, emergency purchase. It is terrible. REALLY bad. The kickstand isn't bad, but only 2 corners are protected by hard material. Hard to get in and out, and worse, as far as I can see you can't push the volume buttons because it is flush with the hard plastic they made the holes in.
---------- Post added at 10:40 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:39 AM ----------
BTW, the iBlason Prime looks much better, and a clip holster instead of a slide one too. Very nice. Just wish it came in other than black.

And double wow, just saw the Moko one in the colors and the volume issue doesn't exist. And a snap in holster? Purchased. This should get me through for now. I'm returning this other one I linked.

Technically it rotates so it can be used vertically or horizontally. Though using it horizontally might be a bit annoying. Horizontal ones are my preference but since this is a big phone a vertical one would be less awkward and feel better for me. I got the case in today. I'll let you know when my phone comes.
after a couple of days with the moko case its...ok. it is 100% absolutely designed for left-handed people, which is annoying. also, it takes quite a concerted effort to both unclip and clip the phone into the case. most of it i'm sure is due to being right-handed, but it's also a function of the fact that the part you insert into the holster first has a pretty tight fit. also, the really soft rubber has quite a bit of give when inserting and removing which is also annoying. feels like they could have used some less compliant rubber here. idk it's ok for now i guess.
i've ordered various normal cases (spigen, ringle, diztronic) as well as the seidio iphone 6 plus holster (new version) to see how it works based on the reddit post. that guy never responded, but from his pics and from looking at the specs of the various items i *think* these cases would fit in the holster fine. my only concern is the part where the spring clip touches the phone. it's going to be very close as to whether it rests on part of the case or on the glass of the phone itself (which would be a no-go for me). we'll see...

does anyone have the supcase holster combo yet? i'm wondering how soft the rubber is compared with the moko. the moko is way too soft imo. it keeps basically trying to slip off every time i remove the phone from the holster. supcase looks a lot sturdier
also, if anyone's interested, my seidio iphone 6 plus holster is arriving thursday, which corresponds to when both the diztronic and ringle cases are supposed to arrive. so we shall see about that...

also, if anyone's interested, my seidio iphone 6 plus holster is arriving thursday, which corresponds to when both the diztronic and ringle cases are supposed to arrive. so we shall see about that...

Ringke Fusion + iPh6+ Surface v1 holster = no go... at least not that well. The phone is too tall (flipped both ways). The latch is propped open about half way.
Going to test out my buddy's N6 Surface holster in a few days. Failing that, might have to just go with the full 6P Surface solution if they ever come out with it...
that's pretty shocking. isn't the ringle a pretty minimalist case? i don't have much experience with ringle but i would imagine it can't be much taller than the seidio surface case. the nexus 6p is nearly identical to the iphone 6s plus, there's like a 1mm difference in height. hard to imagine this would cause what you're describing. unless...maybe that's what the seidio revision from v1 to v2 was about? to allow for additional height for some reason?

Upon closer inspection, there are 2 "feet" on the bottom/back side of the case, about 1mm thick. This is causing the phone to not hit flush bottom of the holster. About 3-4mm gap from bottom of phone to bottom of holster.
Even if it were to sit flush bottom, it's still 2-3mm too tall.
Width-wise it's a nice fit.

Mine isn't here yet but I have that same case on my lg g3. That is hard stiff rubber and plastic parts. No give.

I have the Seidio N6 Surface holster. I used it with my N6 and the Supcase hybrid for the last year. I tried it with my 6P, and same thing that the 6P is too tall. the hinged latched it also propped open (N6P with the Ringke Fusion and the Supcase Hybrid)

Belt holders

Hello I am wondering if anyone knows of a good quality horizontal belt holder that works with the g5 and allows for a case? My case is not very thick but I would not call it slim either.
To give you an idea of what I mean by good quality I want it to be leather and the last one that I had was actually fake leather and the support was cardboard. That one got decent ratings on Amazon for quality but when it fell apart it became clear that it was not good.
I use this belt clip on my V10 since I was unable to to find a holster for it. It works great! and it fits the G5.

I also use the Seideio LGG4 Cased jholsteras well

I never used one of those, but every case or holder with a plastic clip I have had has broken within 3 months. I am not sure I want to spend that money on something that my experience indicates would probably not last very long.
I almost forgot that in previous experience I have had problems with clips like that causing the phone to fall every time I get out of my car and I noticed a few reviews mentioning that on that clip as well. Seems like a bit of a risk to me.
Found this thread and the suggestion by @shaun0207 and figured I'd give it whirl! Thanks for that!
I have the Otterbox Defender (too damn bulky), the Evocel holster/clip (too flimsy and difficult to remove from belt clip) and now am going to try the Spigen walletcase in conjunction with the mophie universal clip
I'll let you guys know how it works out

Great! I have been seriously considering just getting the few tools and some materials and just making my own since it seems very hard to find ones that are well made. If I do I would basically have a thick, stiff leather back (I have a good sized piece of lace leather that I think would work well for that), a couple of belt loops either made from that same thick leather or a slightly thinner more flexible leather, then a soft leather for the rest of the holder with a flap for closing and probably just some cheap magnets hidden within for holding it closed. Should be pretty simple to put together (though there would likely be some trial and error involved).

I only had it come out of the clip once and it was in the car. If you can, check it out in Best Buy. It really holds the phone well.
