Hey folks just wanted to post that I found a solution to getting Canadian Netflix to work on the TF.
Install muffins patch from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15904091
Then follow these steps:
1. Get a US proxy or Vpn. There are plenty of free trial ones out there.
2. Connect to proxy and open Netflix with your account.
3. Test a video. It should work now.
4. Disconnect proxy and restart. It will now work without the proxy.
5. Thank Muffin for the patch.

Did,it worked for you whit the app and what proxy server are you using?
Sent from Cybertron!
Yes it works with the app. I used proxydroid to connect and just Googled free proxy trial for the proxy I used. Any proxy or VPN with a US IP should work.

Is there a way to get this to work without rooting the tablet?
I have a rooted android phone and I was wondering if I can run all the apps/proxy server through the phone, and then tether the tablet to my phone to run netflix for the first time...any idea if this would work?
I don't think its possible without root. You need root to install muffins patch at the very least. Rooting is easy and easily undone if necessary.

What I don't understand is that using the same apk on my sgs2 works on the same internet connection.
That with no proxy set up

That's because the sgs2is supported by Netflix and the transformer is not. The apk that was posted in mistamuffins thread was from the lenevo version which is currently only available in the states

So in summation the american only version works on my sgs2 in Canada because the sgs2 is officially supported.

Can you tell the settings you used for Proxydroid because when I did it I couldn't connect to the internet once I connected to the proxy.
Thanks.

Im with the rest of the people on this cant quite get it to work the way i thought it should. Problems being that either the proxy has no host name and so from what i have read it is therefore the same as the intranet address. When entering that you just don't get internet access. Or the proxy you do get working only works for the browser and all other applications dont see it
If you're using proxydroid make sure to enable global proxy. That will make all apps use the proxy. Alternatively you can use a VPN and set it up in the tf settings. If you are using free proxys or vpns you probably will encore problems. Find one with a free trial or get a friend in the US to set one up for ya if you don't want to pay.

some games like gameloft require a wifi connection to download the data...the problem is I have a 7.2mgbs data plan conc so how can I use it instead of wifi...is there a way do fake my plan as a wifi connection?

I don't think they require it, just that they recommend using wifi. I have downloaded some games from gameloft myself and I had no problem using 3g.

asphalt 6 for example has only the wifi option to download the data I can't by 3g

No trolling , but, you might want to consider going to MacDonalds and get some free WiFi :
good idea cept that in mc donalds in kuwait they have no net

Someone please have a legit answer to his question. I want to play Order and Chaos via 3/4G!!
Have you tried turning on wifi tether and see if it tricks the game to think you are on wifi and not 3g. just a dumb idea but it might work.
You could always go to a "shady" site and download the SD card data via PC. Or I suppose you could have a friend setup their phone as a wifi hotspot so that you could download that way.
These are all workarounds but...if one want's to play Order and Chaos via 3/4g
I have a phone and a tab and can tether my tab and play but ideally this would be nice to be able to accomplish with one device on it's own. Someone has to be clever enough to code a way to make apps think there is a valid connection, probably some iptables wizardry and place the wifi adapter into loopback mode if possible.
Hello All,
Is there any way to install and watch Hulu/Netflix from outside of the USA?
Thanks!
I know for a fact that Netflix is available in other countrys, since I've been using it in Brazil for over 6 months. The movies selection is different for every region, though.
Anyways, you could always set a proxy on your router directing connection to a server in the US.

Is there any way to do this from a mobile device (phone?)
In my droidx it will let me add a proxy if I set up a wifi connection manually.
How do I get the shortcut in the app drawer with having to go into mycloud?
Or is it even worth it, and just install the current market version splashtop?
One thing to remember - with the current Free version of Splashtop 2, they started charging a monthly fee to connect "over the internet". So if you use that feature and don't want to start paying for it, stick with the original Splashtop version....

Say what?! What does that mean..."connect over the internet"? I've been using the mycloud for the past 3 weeks, have't got any notifications of a charge. Is this going to kick in when I lest expect it?
No, you are fine as long as you are using the "MyCloud" version. When they released Splashtop V2, they started charging a monthly fee for the ability to connect to a machine "over the internet" (you can actually use Splashtop to remotely control another PC over the internet) - that same function is available for free in the "MyCloud" version and all of the V1 versions.

I found the Splashtop HD v 1.9.8.4 and am using this one. The one in mycloud is HD version 1.0.?.? The latest non version 2 is 1.9.9.8 I think. I removed the Asus version since it was older and no direct link in the app drawer.

I've tried v 1.9.8.4 and the HD display on the TF700 is too small for me.
Seems like the lose of a lot of display space on the tablet.
I've played with the display settings & only the computer I was linking to changed.
Actually there is a way to cheat the whole internet connection thing, as opposed to same Wi-Fi network. I did this with my htc sensation, but it doesn't matter which phone you use as long as it has vpn and Wi-Fi hotspot. I have my router at home which has built in vpn with dd-wrt, but you can set this up with any of your computer's, you just have to make sure you are port forwarded properly. You can setup an incoming vpn connection using Windows 7, as its built-in is quit easy to use. Once you are setup with vpn ,connect to your home network 1st, then connect to your phone's Wi-Fi hotspot, then connect with splash. Splash will see the rest of your home network because of the vpn connection, and will connect no problem.
I'm out of town till Friday but if ne one needs help with this, i can put up more detailed instructions, this is probably not for the inexperienced.

While I appreciate the info, it's alot easier to just stick with V1!

I agree to a point, i already had vpn setup, so it was easy for me. The vpn is actually pretty easy to setup and once done, you will not have to do it again.

So I should ask, what are the key differences between V1 and the later versions? Not much beats Free access, but if the features in later versions are that much better, I've got to consider the options
I just bought Splashtop from the google market. Problem solved.

New questions for splashtop....
How to get the Win7 screen to fill my tablet screen?
EDIT:
I found it in the settings of splashtop but not many choices. One thing I noticed is the "Asus" version does fit to screen better than the market version. But neither really fill the screen
I have this on my Photon Q, and for some reason, some days it works fine, and stays connected, and other days my computer will connect to the wifi tethering of my phone, then after about 1 min it will disconnect. Its not my computer, it is the phone, the phone stops broadcasting with the tethering app.
Does anyonw know a fix for this? Yesterday i stayed connected without issue, but the day before, I fought with it all day long trying to keep it connected. I either have to restart wifi tether, or sometimes I actually have to restart the phone.
I know this i an issue with the phone, but I wonder if some setting in my computer is making the phone disconnect?
Also, if anyone has any better tethering apps, please let me know.
Have you tried an app like "KeepConnOn"?
No I will check into that thank you
I use trev e mod. So far works flawless.

I did not come up with mod. So I'm not taking credit for it. All I know is that it's somewhere on xda. A buddy of mine sent me the apks. Sprint has blocked almost all the tethering apps from market.
Sent from my XT897 using xda premium
ah yeah, i've seen treve around before. he created some apps to identify and disable logging added in by the carriers, etc. thanks for the tip, PdaNet works well for usb tethering, but it's nice to have a wifi option too.
Here is the link to the trev mod in xda--http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1988735
Only thing though this is the same as wifi tether for root users and i downloaded mine from the play store. The one above i believe you have to install busybox and the one from the market you don't.

I dowloaded the app from the link above. Tried changing a few setting but still no luck. Turn on the wifi tether, laptops sees hotspot, connects, but when i try to browse my carrier pops up requesting me to pay. How do i bypass this? My Photon Q is unlocked and rooted.

In the settings did you change device profile to ics/jb generic wlan0. I don't really touch to much after that and it works fine for me. Who is your carrier?

CSPIRE. It's unlimited but not video streaming wich is kinda dumb that they changed it. Thanks I'm gonna give that a try when i get home. I'm hoping to learn more about kernels so I can stop CSPIRE from blocking me.
I have downloaded the trev e mod, and so far it is working great for me. Thanks for the info and the link!
my phone stopped broadcasting its wifi when I use wireless tether trev E mod lastnight for some reason. I habe reinstalled and changed settings around and everything. Anyone know a fix for this?
Any idea why after some time (30min aprox) the tethering trev shuts down by self?
How can I fix that?

I use Barnacle for wifi tethering myself. Seems like sprint throttles the connection when the phone sleeps though, setting 'stay awake' under the development settings page might help.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing issues with the Wifi Tether app by Treve Mod? I CAN NOT use the tethering on my windows 8 laptop, but it works just fine with the 7 one. They are the same computers. My dad has the Note 2 and he uses the same app, and I can connect to his, and it will work fine. I don't know if it's a setting inside the app that is messed up on my phone, or what. Thanks, any recommendations will help.
I use it and don't have any major issues but you need specific settings in it to get infrastructure mode to work. Otherwise it just does ad hoc which may not work on some devices that won't support ad hoc wireless networks such as other phone or tablets. I will check my settings tomorrow and report back.

You mind posting the APK if possible? I am having a hard time finding it on GP, AMZ, or BM
I will try to get the apk I am using uploaded, for now here is a screenshot of the version as well as the settings I'm using. The reload wifi driver setting was key to getting it to work in infrastructure mode for me.
