[Q] GingerVillain -- how to get rid of green status icons? - General Questions and Answers

So thanks to the ten posts rule I can't post in GingerVillain thread... I'll have to try here then.
Basically under GingerVillain it seems that WiFi and MobileInternet icons in status bar turn green when Google synchronization is working (or so it seems according to the relevant thread).
I find this color more than a little annoying, I don't care about Google sync status (never seen it not to work anyway), I want them to just be normal white.
Is it possible?
If it requires some 'modding' -- I do have some experience (like replacing pictures in framework-res.apk) -- I just need pointers as to what needs to be done.
Thanks in advance!

By the way, maybe someone can repost the question into actual Ginger Villain thread?
It's here:

Its not about syncing. Just that you have a reliable connection to the google network

ifonz ver 1.1.2 Settings question.

I have been using ifonz for a short period and think the 1.1.2 version is more stable, and simple to use than the more recent ifonz2.
However, while going through the settings, I came across one that I do not understand: ICON PUSH.
Whether I link to a file using simply an ICON, or use ICON PUSH, the results seem to be the same. Can any one explain the proper use of ICON PUSH, and what it is does exactly?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

its basically an option that lets you change the icons pictures when it is pushed

Pilot,
Thanks. That explains why some of my icons were changing without me doing anything. I think I used the Icon Push box, instead of the Icon box.
All in all, I worked out the kinks in version 1.1.2, and it really turned out to be a cool app. Sure make my daily life a bit easier.
Take care

[Q] Help Request: Simplism ported for Dx?

So, I'm new to the forums (Hi), but I've been messing around with my phone well before i registered (rooted, deo'd, custom notification bar, ect). I'd like to see if anyone here has the ability to either help me with a project, or just to point me in the right direction. What I'd like to do, is port the lockscreen, notification bar, and (if possible) call answer screen from the Simplisim theme for the HTC Desire to the droid X. Simplism can be found in the Desire subform here, I just can't link to it yet...
I'm not sure where to start - I also posted in that thread. I'm currently working on the notification bar (The easy part ). Anyone have any ideas? ^_^

Well, I'm already working on the statusbar up top... icons and looks and whatnot. I'll probably get to editing the XML and fonts soon. The REAL issue, at least for me, is how to get that sexy lockscreen and/or call answer screen on the Dx. Any ideas?

[MOD] Colorized Notification Icons

Hi all. I have found lots of good mods on this site and finally took the time to consolidate the ones I like into a single package. I also went through and colorized a lot of the notification bar icons. The file is too big to uplaod here, so I have provided a Rapidshare link. The following is included in the file:
1. Smooth Sense Icons
2. Additional colorized icons
3. 50% transparent notification panel
Please let me know what you think and/or if you like this. I have attached a couple of screen shots for your viewing pleasure.

I saw these first in the Virtuous thread as I am running 3.1 and was previously running incredible theme with older versions of virtuous and waiting for someone to do some themeing with newer framework. Are you using newer framework? Not that I'm sure it matters as this is not as extensive as the incredible theme in which it replaced lots of recently updated system apps.
But I do have a question for you. Any way to get rid of the location Icon which I have become use to not seeing in my bar? All though it is attractive.
And a couple of the icons like the headphones, headphones w/mic and tty are jumbled up just as they always have been in smooth sense. I had broght this to jeric's attention long before but was not worth correcting I guess.
Great work buddy!

No, it does not use the new framework. As I said, it is a something I put together with mods I use and like that are already out there. I am no expert on mods. I colorized the icons so it would look nicer on the phone. I can look into getting rid of the location icon, but if you want me to do this, please PM me and I will look into it. Thanks for the kind words.

[Q] Help needed - strange framework modding problem

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I couldn't find anything regarding this sort..
So to the question. I have been modifying my framework (and apps) (CM 2.2.1) to get a Gingerbread-like look. Everything else works well but when I pull notifications open, there is a strange shadowy gradient on top of the notifications - and I can't find out why! The graphics seem to be all right, but when I use a framework from another ROM/theme that is GB-themed, there's no such thing. Is there something in the xml files that could cause this?
Screenshots attached.

email in Weapon 3.0 (ROM)

First off, I am sure this belongs over in the thread in the development section. However, I am unable to ask in that particular thread because I am too new to the game. Please be kind to me and keep the flamming to a low simmer.
I have Weapon 3.0 installed and running smoothly. In fact, I have only 1 complaint, if you can even call it a complaint. when I use the email app (not gmail) the background is white. The accounts / messages are also a shade of white/grey. I can't stand this style. Am I simply missing a very simple step here? I don't see how to switch to the black background, which I prefer.
As an example, if you go into messaging you will see you can switch between the white and black backgrounds.
Thank you in advance for not yelling at me for not having this in the correct thread. As I stated before, the forum rules prevented me from doing so. Also I read quite a bit of the pages on that ROM thread. However, there are over 240 pages. I didn't see anything that jumped out at me.
I was wondering the same thing, I also wanted to know how to get a black google search bar, Im surprised all that work went into the rom and it comes with a white searchbar
There's a fix posted in the G2x themes and apps section
