Does anyone know of a way of getting an app to show up or run in a widget?
with a 10" tablet, the screen is big enough to support "windows" or something
plus many andriod apps weren't made for such a large display
So for apps that normally display on a smaller screen, you should be able to have a few of this sort of app displayed at the same time or at least in some sort of widget that acts as a fake/virtual display that is much smaller than the real screen size

Hello I was wondering if anyone knows of a mod or an app to swipe your fingers across the screen to change apps (like on the ipad 2). Not asking to be flamed or anything just trying to maximize my user experience on my asus transformer. The way in which the ipad 2 switches back and forth between apps by swiping seems a bit more seamless than having the click the button the bottom left and selecting an app every time. Thanks for your help.
Download an app called SwipePad,it is free from the android market, you will like it

I used a rom on my Transformer TF101 that had this kinda ported but I don't see it anywhere else.
Basically it is an app that just pops up with a "folder" of assigned icons. Similar to like an ALT-TAB app but displays custom apps vs recent apps.
The Samsung devices have this in the middle of the bottom tablet-mode status mode. I've been looking for even a simple app that I would map to a softkey... but I just can find anything.
Is there anything that can popular a window of apps that can be mapped to a button or can someone with some serious skills create an app that works similar to the Samsung Quick App panel? It was super handy to go between apps without going back to the launcher.
I know you could basically launch everything once and use the built in taskmanager to flip back and forth, but it doesn't solve launching new apps quickly.

Ok guys I've looked everywhere but found nothing. I am looking for an app that simply sorts home screens apps in some order. I don't want one that makes folders. I want to just be able to use the app to sort every now and then and just close it afterwards. Thanks

I am confused I guess. I don't understand exactly what you are looking for. You want an app to organize your apps on your home screen? Can't you just just organize them how you want them on your home screen? Maybe I don't understand exactly what you are looking for.

Action Launcher gives an alphabetical list similar to windows phone.
If I understand correctly, you want an equivelant to the windows shortcut for "sort by name/type/date modified" for your homescreen, or for your appdrawer.
I echo the thoughts of others in asking why. It's not like your homescreen can accumulate dozens of apps the same way a desktop can pick up dozens of shortcuts, or that they are difficult to get rid of or sort yourself. Folders work fine... also, there are widgets such as Glovebox and CircleLauncher which will allow you to create live groups of self-hiding icons.
but Android is an open OS, so the simple answer is, if there's something you want that doesn't exist, just build it yourself. this, however, seems to be something that would be at the launcher level, not the level of a widget or app.
Exactly. But for people like me who hate using app drawer I think there should be some kind of stock setting

Good day everyone I've been looking for an app that enables to draw a shape on your screen and use it at as a drawer to put things there and that will let me scroll up and down, not like a folder but more like an extra screen but of a size that I choose. Anyone knows of something like this? Thanks a lot

Hi
I was trying to find an app that can launch any app like BTSport into a split screen so that I can watch a live stream in my VR headset (without 3D), but I cannot see anywhere that does it. I know I can use k0di and change the output to split screen with a few changes, but it would be good to do this for other Apps. I have the Moto X Pure Style that I am trying to do this on. I was event trying to get a split screen or 3D launcher, but nothing shows up.
I'm not sure if Daydream will do this with the BTSport app, but is not compatible with my phone and haven't tried getting from other locations. I have tried a few from the playstore and none of them allow BTSport to open
Hope you can help.
Thanks in advance
There is an app called parallel windows that might be helpful, search XDA, it on here somewhere.
