Yeah this is a possible problem. The back has connectors for the antenna, and not having it properly secured could cause connectivity issues. Also a bad SIM card is something to check as well.
Try the OTA MR2 radio. It's working great for me. The newly leaked GB radio from chingy gave me some odd wifi issues.
On a side note, if you work in a place with stainless steel walls, you won't get 4G

Are you getting 3g? If you are getting 3g and just not getting 4g try checking to see if you are on CDMA/ EvDo auto and if you are change it to either CDMA + LTE/EvDo auto or LTE only

I find this below to work better than the *#*#4636#*#*. Seems like 3G is stable now. I have yet to see the 1x since I did this. It does turn 4G completely off though. From what HTC support says they are working on a fix for the radio, camcorder, txt, and battery issues. I was told an update when it comes should set it back to LTE. We don't have 4G yet so a good 3G signal that sticks instead of dropping out to 1x is fine by me til they get it fixed.

Are you on WiFi, because ehrp whatever is what allows you to talk and surf, putting it on rev a is just putting the phone on the old non talk and diem network.
Wifi off and it still works. Must be that it just turns the 4G off. I get email, txt, can put the wife on speaker and look at forums on the web and browse sites no problem.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
I thought it was known that you can use 3G and talk on this phone at the same time. You don't need 4G. I used it once just to see that I could. I'll probably never use it again.
ehrpd is not the talk and surf thing. It makes the handoff between 3g and LTE work properly. Without ehrpd all your data connections will reset when you go between evdo and lte
All this like does is show you how to set your tb so it will stay on 3G and not 1x, which it kills the 4G. I see no point in having 4G search if I'm not in a 4G area. Plus it helps that battery issue a bit too.

Root and change the radio to a newer version for an extra 10 db or so. If not able then use wifi.

Have you tried changing the setting to wcdma only? I was working in downtown Boston and my phone would lose signal all the time and after I changed it to wcdma it seemed to hold the signal better

Toggle to cdma prl in York LTE settings and reboot. If I have LTE set on I get 1x all the time. Not sure if its the real problem or fix but seems to work for me. I'm also in a 3g area.

Same issue here.
This morning I wake up, and my thunderbolt is stock on 1x. If I switch to 4G, it will do 4g, but back to CDMA only, and stuck on 1x. I have 4G at home, but leave it on 3G because I normally am at work with no 4G coverage.
I flashed the stock mr 2 rom just to confirm and used the official radio just to be safe. No change.
Googled around a bit and here is a fix that worked for me...
Dialer -> ##778# ->Call -> Edit -> 000000 -> modem settings ->Rev A
Switch to enable from eHRPD and then hit back once. Menu->Commit.
Solved for me, but I don't know if it has adverse effects...

This makes your phone use the "old" version of EvDO. Basically what all 3g phones that don't have 4g radios use. If your area doesn't have 4g, doing this change shouldn't effect you at all and might get you 3g if you are stuck in 1x.

1X here all morning too. I'm in San Francisco.
On the plus side, my DL/UL speeds suck, but ping is 9 ms, so Mobile Hotspotting is still relatively fast.

Dont think you can use data while on a call when using EVDO, like you could on LTE.

You can in 3G with the Thunderbolt. I did it yesterday. I work in 4G but live in 3G, but this feature is what finally made me pick the TB over the Charge.
I started this morning with the 3G/4G toggle on 3G only, to save battery, and around lunch I switched 4G back on and it has been there since... I haven't had issues with 1X. Must be a regional thing.

Hi All,
I have an ATT infuse 4G, just arrived last night.
Which modem do I need to get the 3g/4g working on Roger's?
Hopefully something that I can flash with CWM.
I just finished rooting, unlocking and installing CWM recovery.
I now have a "I997RUXKG3" for a baseband, but it is still not getting any data.
Need also a good rom that will work with this setup.
Thanks
Heeter
Bump.
Could really use some advice.
Thanks all.

Try as many out as you can and see what works best!
As long as rogers supports the exact same 3g radio bands as ATT then it should pick it up automatically. If they use different ones then no matter what you do it won't connect to anything other then edge
I'm on rogers and have no problems with any of at&t modems. Just try them all and see which works best for you. I'm currently using UVKJ6. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1353209
hope this helps

Hey thanks guys,
I don't have any data (3G, E, H, nothing) So I am gonna try Spider posted.
Will report back in a bit.
Hmmm, you mentioned that all modems should work, maybe there is a setting that I am missing somewhere, 'cause I got no data whatsoever.
BTW, Spidey, Which ROM are you using? And do you have a download link for it?
Thanks
Heeter
Hey I'm using Darky Rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1354321
After flashing make sure everything is running and then flash InfusionGB-CoreA2 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1212485
Then flash this tweak Universal Adrenaline Shot v13.zip from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1236779
Before doing any of this try downloading tweakker https://market.android.com/details?id=com.tweakker&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS50d2Vha2tlciJd from market it fixs apn for specific carrier.
Try inputting the Rogers APN look for a search on the forums to find it, it should activate your data.
Thanks for the heads up Spider, Sarius.
Will post back when I check that out.
Heeter
Hi Guys,
Update:
I flashed that modem that spider provided, and as well I used tweakker.

Is that good?

I don't know if H+ is good for my area. Don't know if 4G has even made it to my area (Edmonton). I know rogers has been talking about something called LTE in my area.
My Nexus S always says 3G, but it is 3G only, not a 4G device.

h+ is the 4g in infuse 4g but its more like fauxG, really its just marketing, the infuse and many other 4g phones work on the 3g network, lte is the true 4th Gen network and the infuse doesn't support it.
the att kernel seems to get faster data because of tcp buffer changes ( if I got that mixed up with something else someone correct me) but the recent custom kernels have the changes and are all built on Rogers sources. the rom shouldn't matter but you need to use the Rogers apn settings. the modems should all work including modems from the sgs4g
weather you see h+ or 4g depends on the rom. it can be changed in the theme. they indicate exactly the same thing.
Yeah that's right turn it off! Seems they just added a tower in my area but I get crappy signal in my house and on HSDPA+ I get full bars. I thought this phone automatically connects to the "preferred network" but LTE in my house sucks and it keeps connecting to it.

I tried that on multiple radios and can't get it to stick. I also tried disabling it with the optional LTE toggle but even with it off the damn phone keeps connecting to LTE, gives me 1 bar and about a half meg down. I get full bars and almost 10 meg down with H+. Its not just the cm10 ROM because I went completely stock with your very helpful stickies and it does the exact same thing.

Setting, wireless networks, more, and scan network manually. Set AT&T and than you can change network modes. Rogers or bell radios only. I prefer bell 757 radio. My phone is not unlocked and I'm on aokp.
