[Q] Touchscreen Refresh Slow? - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey Guys,
I was wondering if you guys noticed the TF has a slower touchscreen refresh rate than most android devices like the original galaxy tab, nook, evo, etc.
To better highlight what I mean, please see the picture below/attached. If you were to draw a circle on a "normal" android device, it would track your finger quickly and create a smooth stroke. However, the TF doesn't seem to track my finger so well and it creates a circle more like the figure on the right. This is much more perceptible when using fast strokes on your touchscreen like a sketch app or swype.
Can people please comment whether or not they have the same issue?
Thanks!

I don't seem to notice anything bad about the refresh rate...

I wasn't referring to the refresh rate of the screen if that's what you meant. I meant the touch screen responsiveness. If you use a sketch app and move your finger very quickly, is your line jagged?

Hmm. What app are you using to test this out?

I tried sketch sketch ad supported from the android market

no one else but me is experiencing this issue?

That curve is pretty ridiculous. I don't see that being too comfortable.

Its not as curved a it seems. The blue highlight doesnt follow the screen on the ends. Look for the enhanced pictures of the phone also the enhanced on white background photos to better judge the curve.
Really excited about this. Hope the 11th is going to be a good day for good news.

I'm guessing it's essentially the same countour display on the Nexus S (which is quite nice). The enhanced photo does a better job of showing this.

[Notes App] Just discovered: Canvas Memo

Hey there!
I just discovered another notes app on the android market and couldn´t find it here on the board yet (what could be caused by my inability to use the search function in an effective manner^^)
The app is called "canvas memo" and really looks and works flawlessly. To be honest I´m impressed by it´s design as well, let me know what you guys think about it (and no, I´m not related to the dev in any way).

Just my personal 2 cents:
- needs DPI compatibility. I´m on 240 dpi and (like in many other apps) it´s kind of not-in-line...maybe someone has a hint how to find a workaround here
- no palm recognition yet...but anyway, it´s worse in skitch, so not that bad.
Good Find. Thanks.

Thx for the find. I'll give it a try.
this is very nice app ... thanks mate
It's a nice app, but a little bit laggy.
If you draw a line rapidly from the top of the screen to the bottom, there are gaps in the line.
Also i would prefer if I can mix up the color, there are only a few colors, and i would prefer if i could choose another one by mixing up.
But anyway, it's a call app. I didn't found any other

Moto G display hinge?

Hey fellow XDA'ers and Moto G owners,
I was wondering if I'm the only one who's able to spot a display hinge? It's very noticable when looking from an angle and when the content shown on the display is white (e.g. google chrome). It is in the botom right corner of the screen.
I already returned it to the store and they said I'm right. It's not normal for it to be there. They sent it back to Motorola and I got the device back after 3 weeks saying it should be fixed, but it's still there.
Here's the best pic I could take:

So anyone with the same problem? And should I return it to the store once again?
Sent from my XT1032 using XDA Free mobile app
This ain't a hinge, it's just a bit of an uneven lighting. I've checked mine and there is one there too, just very very hard to spot.
Probably there is nothing wrong with your display, just you being too picky?
Yes I'm quite picky hahah. But it just got me wondering what it is, because everytime I browse with Chrome it's there because of the white background.
