I used to have that problem with my old sgs4g so i sent it back and got a new one. My new one did it once but then i rooted my phone amd flashed a rom amd it stopped. One thing you should do is uninstall ROM manager it doesnt work on our phone so dont use it.

Well not sure about your camera issue but anything you did with rom manager may have issues. Rom manager does not work with the sgs4g.

try this, get sdbooster from market and set your sdcard's cache to 128k. Now try recording.

Froyo camcorder used to give just "Write error" message. Newer GB ROMs gives a message saying that SD card is not fast enough.
Flash memory write speed may decline over time comparing to freshly formatted card. I think it has something to do with erasing memory blocks to prepare them to be overwritten. Plus our class 2 card is not the fastest for sequential writes.
On the other hand full HD MP4 stream is only about 12Mbps or 1.5MBps, so theoretically any SD card that can sustain 2MBytes/sec write speed should do.
My card (original class 2) measures about 6 to 10 MBytes/sec (don't think it's real) with SDTools and 3-4MBps with Antutu (more real). At one point the write speed fell down and I started to get camcorder failures. I had to do full reformat to make it work again. I also used 32KB cluster size during formatting, it makes the card a little faster but sacrifices some space.

try the second method
Ok i can't get either method to work. I've tried editing it myself and I used your zip.
Whats strange is, I scrubbed everything with the g2x scrubber AND i wiped everything manually. I still get this stupid issue with the SD card and also, a Background from my previous rom loads up all of a sudden????
I know a lot of people got this working and all but damn, this has to be the worst rom I've ever dealt with in terms of getting this to work.
I was working on this last night, DO NOT MESS WITH THIS STUFF IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING!!!! I wiped the internal partitions and it took me a good 4 hours to get my baby back!
It's gonna have to wait till a ROM dev adds the function back into cm 9. I was trying to change all of the necessary files myself, i figured that the file system was close enough to Linux for new to figure it out, like spare parts did in cm7.
but it ended up in a real nasty soft brick.
Seriously, messing with your vold.fstab can f up your recovery partition and make it so you can't get into recovery, and you can't reflash it because the partition tables aren't there.

I need some help figuring out why when I plug in my One S via USB to my computer, I can transfer files from my phone to computer fine at a stable speed. But when I try it from my computer to phone the little pop up box shows calculating ..... Ever since I tried transferring the LeeDroid rom zip to my phone it started doing it, not blaming the rom. Its just when I noticed it happening. I've already formatted my SD memory and still continues with the same problem. Also when I ejected my phone the first time this happened it was not responding until I used the desktop task manager to close it. Shortly after this happened I plugged it in again, this time it was asking me to scan my SD card for fixes. Did so and still continues with the same problem. Does anyone have a solution for this. Thanks in advance.

I get really slow PC to phone speeds (1.6 MB/s), I think it's a kernel issue. I found that using the Multi Mount SD app to mount the SD card to the PC increased speeds to about 6-7 MB/sec.
Try downloading SD speed increase from market, see if that helps. Increase speed to 2048 and test

Tried all that and no luck. If I flash back to stock RUU will I have to reinstall CWM. Will that help? Currently the only way of accessing anything is through dropbox. Thanks for the tips anyways.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
you are going to have slower write speeds than read, but not getting a pop up like that
i would first wipe all including system and reflash
and/or try another cable
do you not have a stock nandroid that you made right after rooting, if so--fastboot the the stock boot.img and restore
otherwise for an ruu, think you need to unlock bootloader before flashing it. there is a post on doing that.

I went ahead and donwloaded a ROM directly to my phone via mobile web. The ROM I was on before was Zero One S 3.0! I went ahead and flashed Black Dragon 4.5 and upload speeds are nearly 12mbps djsubtronic was probably right. I think there is an issue with that kernal. Thanks everyone for all your help!
I reinstalld my scard speed boost app that i used to use, with this rom my write speeds were slow
the app worked for me and back to 9-10mb write and 10-13+ read

Yeah thats weird, I tried sd booster set at 2048kb but still didnt work. Oh well, I'm just glad I didn't have to revert back to stock and start from scratch! Thanks.
it still wouldn't hurt to reflash rom at some point or wait for next version
OK I Know swap i useless BUT i have my reasons so PLEASE DONT JUST ANSWER WITH "insert generic warning about swap being useless here". i have been trying for 3 days now to get swap to work but with no luck and in fact bricking my phone (i fixed it btw). I have used swapper 2 and have had no luck with that, either with a partition or with a file. i have tried a ton of bash commands in terminal, but with all just a fail notification. i have a swap partition on my sd card in the right setup of -fat32 13GB- -ext 2 256MB- -SWAP 1GB- all set to primary. im on CM7.2 stable and as far as i knew swap was enabled on the cm kernel. i could be wrong and that is why im here. any help would be awesome.
I don't know why swapper 2 wasn't working for you. I used to use it, more harm than good honestly, but SetCPU would show the changes and increased swap file size. I do recall I had trouble getting it started and used ESfile explorer to manually create a blank file with the name swapper2 used and than restarted swapper2 it went through successfully. Set it for set at boot and it was there every time.
Make sure you didn't accidentally deny it in your superuser logs.

Where did you put that file? I know I need to direct it to /dev/block/mmcblk1p3 before it was pointed to the internal memory so that is why it bricked.

swap.swp is my extra swap file. it is in addition to the sysyems regular swap file. i think your trying to redo the entire swap file which caused crash imo. just do the expansion on ur microsd card.

well long story short it didnt work. tried the swap file thing and that didnt work. the partition didnt work with either cwr or gparted or mini tool. i just give up
I've had this issue before when I got into the whole thing for swap, what you might need to do is disable compcashe. It creates a swap file on its own and will over ride any other swaps in my experiences. By default it creates about 96mb in internal memory but if you can deal with that then I'd say stick with it cause its much faster than SD card. But try it see if it works. Then decide if you need more than 96mb.

Ok, just installed it and it does delete crap, and gives an option to move to SD card but it just hangs and then says 'Failure' - invalid install location.
Does the SD card have to be formatted in a different way? If so, how?

i think you have rooted your phone but your still on stock rom
you should move to custom roms now
but if your sticking to stock rom for now
for moving app's to sd card try this guide

I'm using stock ROM yes. I think I need to format the SD card to ext2 or something. I only want to be able to copy everything to SD.
I tried making a partition as it says in the instructions, but the SD card is recognised as a 1GB card now in my phone rather than the 16GB it is.
It said to create a 14GB partition in ext2 format in order to transfer all apps to the card. If I do that though, 1GB isn't enough for all my music! Confused.

Now do one thing.Format your sd card to fat32 and then repartition it using recovery and select 1 gb (not 14) ext 2,3 or 4(ext4 preferred).

But surely, all I'm doing is partitioning the card so that 1GB is set to ext 2, meaning only 1GB of the card can be used for apps that can't normally be stored on the FAT32 partition?
Ok - since my last post, I did what you said so partitioned 1GB ext 2. When I open Link2SD, I get asked to choose the file system of my SD cards second partition. I can choose between:
ext2, ext2, ext4, and FAT32. Whatever I select, I get an error message - 'Mount script cannot be created. mount: Device or resource busy. ext2 maynot be supported on your device. Try FAT32 on the second partition'.
I then choose FAT32 and it says 'mount script cannot be created. mount: invalid argument'.
Just rebooted the phone and Link2SD doesn't ask me the above anymore, but now when I try again to move the Facebook app to the SD card, I still get the error:
Failure: pkg: /data/app/com.facebook.katana-1.apk Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_INVALID_INSTALL_LOCATION]
In yet 'Whatsapp' which usually has to stay on the phones memory has no problems being sent to the SD card in Link2SD.
Any ideas please?
Ok this is weird... I formatted the card again to FAT32, and then tried transferring whatsapp to the SD card and it worked.
Uninstalled Facebook and reinstalled it from the play store and that also can be moved! It's really strange but it works. I thought you had to partition the card.
I do have other questions though. Can you keep the stock rom, and still have everything you download auto install to the SD card?
What is busybox for? Do I need it?
What can I do to speed the phone up now?
Thanks.
Busybox is necessary....no need to partition the card......the failure error may occur if u are moving something from rom to external sd....first move it to internal....to speed up ur phone change the kernel...
.thundervn kernel is best for stock...make sure u hav clockworkmod recovery installed....if not....download rom manager from play store....

Just so you all know, I only want to use stock rom. I don't want to be messing about with custom roms.
The SD card isn't partitioned, and 95% of all apps seem to be going across to the SD card no problems, but I get that 'failure'message with an app called 'proboards' which I downloaded from the play store - any reason why? LinkSD does say it requires a partition but it says that for all the other apps that transferred across fine.
I've also noticed my internal memory is still slowly decreasing even when apps are being transferred to SD - what can I do to stop this?
Finally, I bought 'SetCPU' app for my phone. Not 100% how to use it but when I set the min and max cpu speed to the max my phone can offer, my phone seems much quicker - is this ok to do?
Thanks

Really to get the full benefit out of rooting you'll want to play with some custom roms but as for the cpu setting the minimum higher will just cause your battery to drain really fast. What you want is a custom kernal that will allow you to overclock the cpu past 600 on the max end.

Ok, so at the moment I have transferred all my apps to the SD card. How would I go about flashing it then?
What rom should I use?
How will having a new rom stock the internal memory from being eaten up? And why is it still being eaten up now that they are all on the SD card?
Finally, surely if you overclock, it will use even more battery? I've just got it set to the maximum cpu so surely it must be improving something??

For rom go for Ressurection .. i can get u to the correct forum ... clockspeed in a cpu means the no of iinstructions it processes per sec .. so a cpu running at 600mhz will execute 600 instructions per sec while one running at 800 will execute 800 instructions per sec ... basically it gives u a performance boost at the cost of battery.. and our phones are det at 122-600 by default so u cant get a performance boost but on the other hand it helps with battery

Anakin, so I wasted money on the setcpu app then? It does seem much quicker since changing the min/max speed to both be 600mhz. Think originally it was set to 320 each.
